Wynne will triple that bill if she gets her way. Her game plan is to use solar energy and wind turbines. That is the most expensive way to generate power.

Ezra…our last winter hydro bill last year was $930.00 for ONE month, not two…and that was because we turned off our furnace all day and only ran it for 2 hours at night and in the morning. We lived in our winter coats in our house. We almost froze and then after that the next bill came in with a price increase for each kwh…this tactic isn’t to change our hydro use…it is to impoverish us all and make us a third world country. Money is power and they want to take all of it. They are thieves and robbers and want nothing more than to keep us poor.

There are a lot of loonies here saying their bills are low…maybe you all better actually take a look! I know someone who has a cottage where they pay ONLY for having the power to the driveway…and use no electricity at all…their monthly bill is now >$50.00 basic for just having it at the curb…for NO hydro used…so get off the pot with your fake low prices…what a bunch of phonies!

Who cares , Wynne and her cronies can afford it, average people cannot though.

Andrew i highly doubt that.
Kelly Weber my bill was $74 last month in Alberta , so why is mine so much cheaper? OH YEAH, liberal stupidity. Which will be coming here as well.

Keith Richards, you’re wrong about Ontario deserving the triple increase in hydro bills over the last few months. The only ones who deserve it are the a holes who voted for Wynne. There are young families out there right now struggling with how they are going to pay these outrageous hydro bills because they have to buy outrageously priced groceries that have more than tripled in the last few years for themselves and their children. Some people even have to use the food bank to feed their families. Do the Ontario or Federal stinking liberals give a shit? No, obviously. Ontario and Canada needs a new election right now. People are getting seriously screwed with no end in sight. Ontario is going the way of Greece and will be bankrupt very soon. Get that effing bitch Wynne out and Trudeau too.

No wonder your bill is so high, you used 6,036 KW. My bill for July 26-Aug 26 was $368.97 for 2,156 KW used. That’s with a pool, hot tub and AC going pretty much nonstop.

@andrew Stephenson:
The hydro bill on my condo in Toronto is only about 90 dollars a month. ??

Liar. ….Post a copy

I don’t know where you all are getting your low bills. I pay $30 a month to have my power turned on. I literally don’t use ANY power for months at a time, as it is a cottage. $30 bucks just to be signed up, and I live in Alberta.

The hydro bill on my condo in Toronto is only about 90 dollars a month.

How, exactly, you rack up twelve times times that much, is unclear, but I’m not sure the problem really lies with the utility.

My grandfather almost took a job in Quebec when he moved from Scotland. His wife’s family moved west from Ontario about the same time: 1904. I am so thankful for their foresight. I rise up and call then blessed.

That is because Ontario uses only prime grade ‘A’ pure electricity and not that cheap stuff Quebec produces!

Welcome to our blessed liberal province where you can pay high rates for everything and you’ll die with a smile when the Ontario liberals service you. (to see what is meant by “service”, look up George Carlin’s comedy routine)

In Quebec, where I have lights on to all hours of the night, fridge and a large freezer, two large servers that suck power, power sucking flat screen TVs with sound systems, and ran AC almost every day of the summer (19C inside), my last two bills were each under $200 for a two month billing period. That is four months for under $400. Less than $100/month. About $3.65 a day. Including tax.

In Florida, to remain hooked up (delivery) while I am not at my condo, I pay less than $9/month. Tax included.

So I ask myself, why am I moving to Ontario in a month while utilities and taxes are less in Quebec, which is hard to believe. If I would have said that electricity was cheaper in Quebec ten years ago I would have been laughed out of the room. Same about taxes.

You really have a Wynner in Ontario.

Ont. is a shit place.

Hey Jamie,
I’ll bet most of those idiot liberal voters had Toronto addresses, taught school, belonged to unions and / or were recent immigrants living on social welfare.
By the way, where I live in Ontario we actually use some of that smelly Quebec inferior electricity and accordingly, our rates are somewhat lower that our neighbours out in the country.
commented 2016-10-12 08:28:33 -0400
Hey guys,

What the hell are you complaining about?
Don’t you realize we have the best, most efficient, sweetest smelling, fat free 100% pure electricity coming out of your light sockets and wall plugs.
This Ontario grade ‘A’ electricity is so much better than the ordinary electricity that the rest of the world uses.
That’s the reason the managers of Hydro One are all members of the sunshine list and that there is one manager for every unionized employee.
Could be worse. We could be using some of that cheap smelly Quebec electricity that the north eastern US states buy for a fraction of what we pay for our grade ‘A’ Ontario prime electricity.

In the last Ontario election, 62 percent of voters put their X beside a Liberal or NDP candidate’s name. In the 2011 election, 60 percent did, and back in 2007, a stunning 67 percent voted Liberal, NDP, or Green.

So put the blame for your electricity bill where it belongs: on the shoulders of your neighbours who voted for it.

I posted this on my other response to your electricity bill

My first power bill on our farm was 95 bucks a month when we bought it in 2002

Today it is nearly 700 bucks a month

No big additions or changes.

Not only have rates gone up, but so have delivery fees.

My delivery fees are now more than half of my power bill on a monthly basis.
