"Charlie Hebdo shocked France. But that shock wore off"

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Today is the one year anniversary of a series of Muslim terrorist attacks in Paris, including the murder of 12 people at the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

Charlie Hebdo was a symbol of freedom and secularism.

More than a million Frenchmen and some world leaders marched in solidarity with the victims. They carried signs saying "Je Suis Charlie," which means "I am Charlie." Some carried large pencils.

But hang on. Charlie wasn’t about saying, “We’re for free speech." Charlie was actually about DOING free speech.

If you really "were Charlie," a million Frenchmen would have carried pictures of Mohammed.

Well, they didn’t. Because they really don’t believe in freedom enough to put their lives at risk, and more importantly, to risk being called racist or, God forbid, Islamophobic.

A year ago it was 12 people killed at Charlie Hebdo.

But in November it was more than ten times that number.

Charlie Hebdo shocked France. But that shock wore off.

We’re the same. We all said we were shocked when Muslim terrorists attacked our Parliament.

But we’ve forgotten already, and are bringing in 50,000 unvetted Muslim Syrians.

My first guest, Dr. Daniel Pipes of The Middle East Forum, talks about the fallout from the Charlie Hebdo terror attacks, one year later. Has anything changed?

Pipes has a theory about the difference between the reaction to Charlie Hebdo and the later terror attack in Paris. We talk about my idea that our elites fear "Islamophobia-phobia": the fear of being called "Islamophobic."

Pipes also explains why he stopped using the word "terrorism" a few months ago -- it's not the same reason the media avoids the word, however.

We also talk about what happened in Cologne, Germany which he says must have been organized in advance, but I don't entirely agree.

PS: Pipes reveals troubling information about the German government and Facebook censorship.

Finally, I read my viewer mail. As usual, I share the positive and the negative messages. And I want to hear from you. I give out my contact information at the end of every show, or you can leave your feedback in the comments, below.

The French just want to be left alone with their wines and tortured goose livers, come what may. They will as usual since the demise of Napoleon, come to their allies for help.

Ezra, on shows like this one that are shorter in duration, how about taking the time to read a couple more comments, tweets and emails to you? You do, after all, say that it is your favourite part of the show.

Unemployment Rate around 7-8%
CPP in need of overhaul if not huge cash injection
Health Care system stressed to limit
And our leader (who is nothing more than a second generation Hippie) is paying through the nose (with tax payers $) to bring in unemployable or under-employable High risk Health Care candidates who without paying one dime in into our Pension system but automatically will draw.
Now compounded that by the fact that these people’s religious ideologically/beliefs say we must be converted or destroyed …So tell me why again we are doing this??…And please make the case really compelling as I am the father of two daughters who could have very well fell victim such as the poor souls did recently in Germany…

As my good friend Dwayne the Train Coleman says, “the french are a bunch of frogs swimming in wine.”

In English, they are decadent drunks. Man they know how to have a good time, but that’s about it. I think the shock has worn off because they are a bunch of fucking goldfish… Or guppies maybe. Maybe there’s something to it.

Despite being horribly “liberal”, Canada is no France, even the Nation of Quebec is FAR less “liberal” than that Euro piece of shit country, perhaps even less “liberal” in some ways than Canada.

While Soros remains a serious threat, the demon has had far less success in Canada and Quebec compared to other the country formerly known as France.

During the first interview Ezra’s brief reference to the Vancouver hockey riot grabbed my attention, because that was the first thing to enter my mind when I heard about the NYE incident in Koln and the subsequent pathetic response of the mayor. In Vancouver, the “authorities” were supposedly prepared for anything. They said that they had a good relationship with the downtown partiers. They were oh-so-sure that nothing bad could ever happen. Don’t worry about it, they said. Then the Canucks lost, and within minutes it got ugly, real fast. The cops’ radios didn’t talk to each other. The container with all the riot equipment was blocks away, and nobody had the key. Etc, etc… I was there two weeks later and I could still see boarded-up storefronts in the central downtown area. Two and a half years later, those same “authorities” were still expending massive resources on dragging offenders through the courts even though those offenders were by no means terrorists, but nothing more than drunken punks. None of them even had a gun.
Were the “authorities” any better prepared when the crackhead with the old-west Winchester murdered Cpl. Nathan Cirillo, wounded the doorman at the Parliament Building, and ran inside looking for more victims?
On Thursday afternoon while heading home from work, I stopped off at a junk-food emporium on Stephen Avenue in Calgary. I sat by the front window with a coffee and I looked at the old Palace Theater building across the street, all lit up with flashing lights, and I couldn’t stop thinking about the Bataclan…
What will it take for Canadians to wake the hell up?

Dear Diary;
It’s a great time to still be on my Red (one of my favourite colours) and Green (green is the colour of Islam y’know) holidays, since I had been thinking how awkward it could be for me being asked questions about all the crap that’s hitting the fan right now.
What with McCallum’s refugee thingy in shambles (I do wish he would lay off the old “shampoo” for a while).
The markets are going down the toilet.
Karen Dyer is encouraging everyone, through change.org to petition me to stop my glorious voter immigration program.
My CF-18s are still bombing someone somewhere.
Might go ahead with the F-35s after all.
People are even suggesting that there’s a slight possibility that it may just be a tad unconstitutional if I disbanded our democracy.
Geez, the list goes on and on, and then I saw this quote by Emanuella Enenajor, senior Canada economist for Bank of America Merrill Lynch:
“Canada is in the midst of an identity crisis.
In the 1990s, Canada was the manufacturer to the United States.
In the 2000s Canada was the commodity producer to the United States.
Today, Canada’s identity is unclear.”
This is superb. It’s like I’ll be starting off with a blank slate, my country is ready to be moulded into my image, like an empty vessel, ready to be filled with the dreams of Gerald and me. I shall sleep tonight dreaming of Gerald and my vessel being filled.

If you can fix Prof. Essex’s audio, can you put it in tomorrow’s show? I’d like to see it and hear what he has to say.

History has taught us how cultures are overththrown by their very leaders. So revolt and preserve your freedom, or bow to a new culture. I think we are very close to civil war here in Canada and that’s without the danger of Muslim terror. Our nation cannot cope with the constant economic battle from central to western prosperity. Add Muslim terrorism to the mix and anyone worried about the future generations freedom and opportunity will quickly conclude, instinctually, that we must fight. When the fight starts, the reality of war will shelter none. Genocide has occurred repeatedly throughout history. Fools believe it won’t happen again.

The whole idea is to beat the neighbourhood up – slowly at first.

People will forget about it or hope it goes away.

Then they get used to the additional crime

Then they get used to the additional demands

Then the media stops reporting it

The you are trapped

And when you are finally at the point it is “submit or die” you wonder….

How the fuck did this happen?

All because cowards let it happen

And who were the cowards?

Look in the mirror – you will see one of many.

And THAT is how it is done

History is repeating itself – again.

Best to all.
