Good news, future baristas: you can take a university course on #selfies

Need something to attach to your double-minor in 16th Century Lesbian Dance Theory and South Asian Marxist Basket Weaving? Look no further than selfies.

“I was thinking of doing something with my life, but first, let me take a #selfieclass.”

The University of Southern California are offering a #selfieclass.

As Breitbart reports, the class is a renamed version of “Writing 150: Writing and Critical Reasoning: Identity and Diversity.”

Mark Marino, an associate professor teaching the selfie class said, “When we look at selfies, we’re also looking at the beginning of the 21st century. The cultural moment of the selfies will pass and become something that’s iconic of our age, the same way that photographic self-portraits or painting self-portraits or religious journals were the selfies of their moment.”

Would you take this class?

Ha! "double-minor in 16th Century Lesbian Dance Theory " funny stuff guys, but to near the truth.

In this little blurb, we see all that is wrong with the university system and the core reason it turns out useless drones with no marketable skills/knowledge. Consider the wee prof teaching this drivel – it’s a made up credit he can capitalize on and enough of these will prolong his sinecure in the university industry so he himself can be insulated from the realities of the job market – his course appeals to intellectually and physically lazy students who are at university to avoid the work force so they take as many of these pointless credits as possible and end up with a Bsc in junk – then go live in their parents basement because they are bitter about the crappy service industry jobs they must take because their university education got them nothing.

Outside of the core sciences, engineering and business degree courses, universities run a daycare center for professional students/teachers who want to avoid the work force – the failure to launch industry if you will.

California Universities and Associate Professors, ugh!
This guy Mark Marino is soooo behind the times. Back in the day, nineteen sixty something, maybe earlier, taking selfies was quite commonplace. Not only was it as simple as depositing about a quarter (or less) in the photo booth’s slot, but a few minutes later you would be presented with about four hard-copy prints of the captured moments.
Bonus if you could be in there with your arm around your main squeeze.

Just when you thought post secondary credits couldn’t reach any lower.

Wouldn’t this fall under the photography class??… That’s quite a reach.

Scholars Are examining selfies, not because of their social relevance, but because these Scholars are nincompoops.
