Ah, of course Michael Mann, if Stalin had listened to God’s Word “Thou shalt not kill” and “Love thy neighbour as thyself”, I’m sure his decisions would have been much worse, being approved by Jesus and all. As always, thank your for your guiding darkness.

And of course God Bless our British friends across the pond.

Before this becomes an indictable offence under some new Ministry for the Love of Gaia and Shariah Affairs or something, God bless you all on this past Canada Day and God bless our American neighbours to the south on their Independence Day.

Cool video about ATP synthase:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GM9buhWJjlA

At the bottom of the screen for the first 13 seconds of the video you’ll see a brownish looking cylinder in a cloud of grey. The brown part is the water turbine-like component that spins around by having protons flow through it like a water would through a turbine blade. The spinning of the cylinder spins the blue shaft which changes the shape of the pink and yellow components. This changing shape allows ATP to be formed, your bodies basic fuel source.

Michael Mann said:
Jay,

You might be interested to know that Canada is one of the countries listed where religion will eventually become extinct.

Despite the churchies here – more and more Canadians are waking up every single day and realizing that logic and science make it impossible for them to believe in any sort of God and thus the atheist/agnostic movement is growing rapidly."

For the fun of it, I calculated the probability of Michael Mann typing the above statement of 368 characters entirely by chance: 1.3×10 to the power -554.

So that’s a 13 with 554 zeros in front of it or:
0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000013%

You are 3 quadrillion times MORE likely to be struck by lightning once each year for 90 years straight (3.9×10 to the power -539) then to come up with Michael Mann’s statement.

Porcine circovirus is the smallest known virus in terms of genome size. It has a genome of 1,768 base pairs of either A, T, G, or C. The odds of coming up with that particular sequence of that length is about: 3.6×10 to the power -1065.

The smallest known single celled organism by genome size runs a little north of 500, 000 base pairs. Want to know the odds of coming up with that entirely by chance (no God)?

1.4×10 to the power -319694

No Michael, it’s not us churchies who believe in fairy tales, it’s you. I just pointed out the odds of forming the information (DNA) by chance which is basically the software. As for the hardware, there are literally molecular machines in our cells. Voltage sensitive automatic gates, energy producing turbine driven machines (ATP synthase). Open your eyes. There is no chance that the information (DNA) and machines were made by chance.

Dear Michael Mann,

Why is Pedophilia wrong?
commented 2016-07-05 00:24:03 -0400
Lisa Dawn Cheney,

Yes it does harm others – religious people believe that every political decision should be approved by Jesus. There should be a separation of church and state, but there isn’t.

John,

I am not pilling on anyone. I simply made a point that it’s funny in terms of convenience that they all of a sudden found God – ala they use a lack of God as an excuse for their poor choices in life.

Sure Churches do work, but Christian/Catholic churches also cover up the pedophiles in the church. Watch Spotlight – you might learn something.

And it’s not like if Churches went away, people wouldn’t still help other people. Plenty of charities that do what Churches do.

Michael Mann, It is not weak to believe there is a god. Humans aren’t perfect. If we need to believe in something greater then ourselves. There is nothing wrong with that. It harms no one.

Michael,

Seriously? You’re going to pile on those who have addiction issues?
I actually enjoy your comments and think you have every right in the world to say what you feel, but cherry picking an issue like that is just beyond the pale, not to mention that it reflects more on you than it does Christianity or religion.
A lot of churches do good work, there are many Christian church organizations who have stood up and lead the effort to clothe and shelo the Syrian migrants who have sought refuge in our land.

I guess that is the type of humanity we should expect of those who are without religion…
I will say a prayer for you.

Mr Mann, I am always astounded by how the atheist mind (such as yours) has done a self-lobotomy on itself. You take that reasoning part of your mind that asserts that God does indeed exist and you exorcise it. Talk about weak-mindedness! You fail miserably to think things through. Science and Judeo/Christianity go hand in hand. The West would be nothing without its influence.

Deductive reasoning tells us that there must be a God. Christianity tells us that he is personal and active in everything. Conclusion: you are lost. But you can be ‘found’ if you use the mind God has given you and come to the knowledge of then truth of Christ, as Scott and others here point out.

Mike,

There is a reason why people say religion is for the weak minded. They need a God to help them get through their pathetic lives.

It’s funny how people on drugs or alcohol who hit rock bottom and destroyed their lives – always find God.

I suggested in an earlier post that you leave that to the intellectuals. I will take Christianity over leftist regressive fucktardism every time.

Robert,
If their ever was such a thing as a poltergeist, like in the movie, Canada has one called the Liberal party sucking the lives of our nation.
Justin is the embodiment as well as Cathy Whynee, of the Anti-Christian sucking services trying to remove any type of prohibition and moral that christianity has created. its time our country woke up to this and acted to remove these scary clowns from office. They make movies like chucky seem possible. They are Canada’s worst nightmare.

Michael Mann

First of all, a personal relationship with Jesus Christ has nothing to do with religion (man’s way to please God or perhaps the gods).

“How could it be that they are readying to bury Christianity and we’ve handed over one of our two viable political parties to a fundamentalist version of that religion?”
People have be trying to ‘bury’ the Christian faith for 2000 years, and they are no closer then than today. As for ‘handing over’ the CPC to ‘Christian Fundamentalists’ the only response I have is laughter.

Here you go all you strong minded libertines,

Predictions of the future are for charlatans, they rely on their constants a little too much, but as we know, change is the only constant.
All it would take is a good messenger or a single event to send the tide the study speaks of, out into Poseidon’s sea. There are far too many scientific studies that have been amended over time, in fact, I’m old enough to remember when popular theory held that the Earth was cooling.
Religion, weather it be a the shamanistic, the priest class, paganism, or Christianity has always accompanied humanity throughout time, there is a reason for that. What you propose is a vacuum, yes, many languages have died out, but language itself has never done so.
There will always be a totem and a taboo weaved into the fabric of society and to my mind there is none other that has benefited society more than the golden rule.

I have been a christian for about 35 years give or take.
I have been through it all, from abuse to doubt to total trust and faith. And I have to say I Love Jesus Christ. I enjoy the relationship and I am glad that Canada for whatever reason has kept Christmas and Easter as Holidays.
I also like it that we are generally polite preferring one other. I had a bit of a fight, if you could call it that on who would go first in line. I insisted that the guy with his cement and decking materials go ahead of me while he insisted that I with my Pine doors and trims go ahead of me. It could have got ugly. LoL.

Here you go weak minded conservatives, who need a God and religion to get through life:

We know that languages die out. We also know that religions die out. How many people believe in Zeus or Poseidon or Apollo? But could we see religions as a whole die out in modern societies?

A new study predicts that that is exactly what is going to happen in Australia, Austria, CANADA, the Czech Republic, Finland, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Switzerland.

The list is notable because in includes the two countries most similar to the United States. Both Canada and Australia were founded, mainly, by British settlers. How could it be that they are readying to bury Christianity and we’ve handed over one of our two viable political parties to a fundamentalist version of that religion?

I mean, Big Oil and Big Money operate in Canada and Australia, too. So, why haven’t the dollars gone to the megachurches in those countries? It might have something to do with political efficacy. It is easier to capture a major party in the United States than in Canada or, especially, Australia.

Still, it’s astonishing to think that Christianity may soon be extinct in Canada at the same time as it is morphing into something so powerful in our country that it can destroy reproductive choice and the teaching of biology, geology, and sex education.

We’re not inherently more religious than Canada. We just have a political system that allows financial elites to enlist religious fundamentalists in their service. In other words, religion has tremendous utility in our country.

The study was carried out by Northwestern University and the University of Arizona. Richard Wiener, of the Research Corporation for Science Advancement, led the scientific survey. He said: ‘In a large number of modern secular democracies, there’s been a trend that folk are identifying themselves as non-affiliated with religion.

May all of Mankind be mindful and respectful of historical facts and intellectually apply unbiased appropriate full context with regard to Christianity. It is extremely erroneous and harmful to assume that the errors of humanity, within Christianity, are aligned with the original teachings of Christ and other believers. Do note that the Book of Revelations is not in accordance with the Word of God, or the teachings of Christ.

The advancement of humanity and the areas of the World that have evolved and prospered have undeniably done so solely as a result of Judaeo-Christianity, and not in spite of it, for the faith has always condemned and rejected a conquering philosophy. It is critically important to discern that any battles Christianity has been involved in has been from a position of defensiveness and protectionism. If they had not protected themselves, they would have been slaughtered and wiped out centuries ago, for which, we would not have the precious freedoms and subsequent human comforts that we take for granted, today.

As is witnessed today, Christianity is under tremendous attack all over the World and from all fronts. It’s human leaders in the most powerful positions are disgracefully bowing to political correctness and appeasement from those that want to see it obliterated. The foundation of civilized western society is perilously under heavy assault from the jackhammers of anti-christian secularists and anarchists everywhere. Little do they know that they are attacking the primordial foundation of their very own existence.

As for science, it is of the linear dimension and can only discover that which is already known. To defer to causal science as the knower of all things is to be trapped within the limitations of the ego and the ego’s belief that humanity is the creator and arbiter of all life and of all things. There is some pertinent wisdom in a number of the previous comments that can be useful in this understanding.

Do realize that the scientific “Big Bang” theory as the origin of the Universe is fallacious. Finally, there are a few true scientists today that are pursuing inquiry into the non-linear dimensions of existence and the universe, which offers great hope for those that rely strictly on science for the finality of their beliefs.

Andrew Stephenson and Mannie. It is absolutely your choice to believe or not believe what ever you wish, but leave the rest of the planet to do the same. It is ludicrous to expect the world to purge itself of ‘religion’ . It will never happen, never.

Providing no blood is spilled freedom of religion is the right of free societies, not so much in Islamic countries where if you identify as anything other than Muslim, your life is very much in danger. We fought for freedom in the west, that includes freedom of religion. You cannot strip countries of its foundation blocks. You may think you can, and you may try, but you will never succeed. It would be like expecting to reverse the flow of Niagara Falls. It goes against gravity.

Having said that, all religions are not equal. Some are better than others in that some have evolved and some have not, as in do not tolerate literally, as in convert or die. I don’t suppose you can decipher which one is which. You have proven unable, but most of the free world can. Thank God!

Too many people, Christians and non-Christians think science and Christianity are opposite and cannot coexist.

How very wrong.

Science is the study of the world around us using a systematic methodology. Science and Christianity go perfectly together.

It is the incorrect conclusions of some theories by many scientists that contradict Christianity. i.e. The scientists’ conclusions are wrong either because of pre-existing bias which disallows them to reach a proper conclusion or because of lack of facts to reach a proper conclusion.

The problem with people who think science disproves the existence of God is that in order to prove or disprove the existence of God, you would have to be able to perceive that which as humans we cannot perceive, the non-corporeal realm. Therefore because as humans our ability to perceive this realm does not exist, scientists assume that it does not exist. Making an assumption in science is incorrect scientific procedure.

How very foolish of them, wouldn’t you say, Michael?

The only difference? We have the good sense to become a secular society, free from the oppressive totalitarianism of theocracy.

We put that narrative to the rest each Ramadan with a running count of ALL terror attacks categorized by motive.

Motive – Terror in the name of Islam………………..Attacks = 220…..….Kills = 1573
Motive – All other religions combined …………….Attacks = 0…………Kills = 0
Motive – By Islamophobes…………………………….Attacks = 0…………Kills = 0

Michale Mann,

I think you should reconsider your opinion of religion, science and logic. It is widely known that in scientific endeavor; after all information has been gathered and studied on a subject the conclusions arrived at from such still come down to instinct.
If one looks at a subject like quantum theory one is forced to admit that the deeper our knowledge penetrates the subject the more questions we have about the nature of such. Even our greatest modern scientist wanted to find out “if God played dice”.
Newton with all of his knowledge was a devout Christian, I think the two subjects are inextricably tied together, as the wonder of nature tends to make one think that there is something behind the mechanics of the universe.

Also, do not think of God as an old man who will pass judgement on those of us who are sinners, rather, think of God more in legal terms, God is the entity that legally grants you your rights as a human being, that is why almost every court and constitutional document refers to a God.
