"Keystone is deceased. Next is Energy East": Protesters chant outside vacant 24 Sussex

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

Climate zealots on the march or just sitting?

Either way, protesters from the global climate movement, 350.org, have been outside of the Prime Minister's residence for the last several days, though Trudeau isn't there.

They're there, they say, because they want Canada to freeze tar sands expansion and want a clean energy economy now.

Just hours after news that Keystone was shut down, they sang a message about what they want next.

These are not people who are interested in debate - they demand action, transparency and openness from government but refuse to be questioned.

These are zealots who are unfortunately being egged on by the Media Party and this new government.

OMG! Protesters we’re really chanting that???? It’s the end of the world! We’ll be joining the P.C’s shortly.

When Canadians protest the Canadian oil industry – it just boggles my mind!! The Canadian oil and gas industry is ethical, meets stringent environmental requirements from cradle to grave and has an excellent human rights record.

This article is eye opening on how some of the oil in the middle east is processed. Canadians would rather buy oil from the middle east where child labour is used to process oil than from our own country where we have child rights, worker rights, safety standards, to name a few more things.

Has Obummer alienated just about every country he’s had anything to do with? I’m trying real hard to think of one country that doesn’t hate America more since his rein. In spite of him bowing down and licking Iran’s ayatollah Khomeini’s boots, giving them $ billions they still openly hate and promise to kill the Big Satan.

Seems to have gone out of his ideological Muslim Brotherhood way to piss everyone off… Egypt screwed up; Libya destroyed; Iraq abandoned; Syria bungled; Russians now hate USA; Israel bullied; Canada now can’t trust him; It goes on and on with his failed foreign policies.
I’m trying real hard to think of one country that doesn’t hate America. He’s a divider, a bully and a hater.

Drew. Very good points. R.I.P SNN.

Funny all those protesters are wearing clothes made in Bangladesh etc. Seems to me, that Fossil fuel/jet fuel was used or some ship running on Diesel fuel and some transport truck running on Fuel clothed them. Its real hypocritical to protest like that if you don’t own your own horse and Loom and ice barn.

ANDREW STEPHENSON LOL so now you claim albertans are low life "
No, I didn’t make that claim, you did, you were the ones suggesting that Albertans would deal with protesters by beating them up …
commented 2015-11-08 20:41:07 -0500
Just thinking, is there any linkage in the events of Justin talking to Obama advising him that Canada will not support the fight against ISIS and the announcement from Obama that keystone will not happen. I dunno, maybe me misunderstanding, but the thought did hit me.

Sean Penson said, "Climate change and its effects, are the issue now. " I’ve yet had a leftie attempt to explain to me two things; why is Mars warming? and, how is it at the time of the Vikings, Iceland and Greenland were actually green, not mostly frozen over as they are now? Yeah, must have been all that human caused AGW!

I had SNN .. any time I tuned in, the channel was apologizing for something one of their people said because they were too busy letting their personal opinion get in the way of a professional opinion.

Only welfare gobblers have the time to participate in this type of propoganda! That about says it all! Let’s protest someone else being able to have a decent job while demanding more welfare from taxpayers! Progressives have become emboldened by the win of “Fluffy”!

The real “fake media” would probably go bankrupt if they weren’t buoyed up through forced contributions through our taxes. Don’t worry though, Trudeau promised to send them a $150 million lifeline if they helped him to get elected. DON CLOUD, have you ever thought of hitting the stand-up comedy circuit as a comedian? You’re quite hilarious!

JIM CURRIE, my cable provider carried virtually every American news channel, Al Jazeera, BBC, a Russian news channel, but I couldn’t even pay to receive Sun News as they would not carry it. Cancelled my cable several years ago and very happy that I did so. Still can receive some TV stations with a simple antenna.
commented 2015-11-08 15:27:27 -0500
Don Cloud. .. on basic cable I get CBC, CTV, CNN and Global, I paid extra for Sun News pay extra for Fox News. Stories I got on SNN and get on FNN, example Planned Parenthood, are often not reported on your version of the media. The main stream media don’t report the news, they filter it. Do yourself a favor and get stories from both sides then your comments would have relevance.
commented 2015-11-08 15:01:50 -0500
Wait .. the fake media’s support kills campaigns … right? Mr. Harper.
commented 2015-11-08 15:00:04 -0500
Petey … the real media are still reporting the news. The fake media goes bankrupt because no one cares to watch OR support them. LMAO!

Perry Bourque said to Sean Penson, “It must feel wonderful to know you can release your shit into the ocean”

I had someone on a different site try to justify that to me by telling me that the fish crap, so it was okay for Victoria to dump its crap in the ocean. I responded by telling him that the fish do not use toilet paper to wipe their asses nor do they use toxic leaning fluids to clean their coral reef “homes”.

Don said, "So by " the Media Party " , you mean real media right? Not the kind that once was the Sun News Network …"

Please do describe what in your view is “real” media and what is not “real”. Don’t just name names, but describe the requirements to be a “real” media, in your opinion.

Sean Penson, no doubt the oil sands are unpopular there, but if you believe pipelines into BC are dead, Google the company Eagle Spirit and see what you come up with. Even the “keepers of the land” can handle a pipeline or two, as long as the money ends up in their bank account. It must feel wonderful to know you can release your shit into the ocean, as long as you don’t emit carbon in the process, that would be simply unacceptable.

@darryl Teskey: Once again, this propensity towards violence says FAR more about the aggressors than it does about the protesters. I don’t think it’s particularly cowardly to avoid what you suggest are a bunch of lowlifes that think with their fists. I would call this response “sanity”. If this sort of thuggery is indeed endemic in the oilpatch then I can’t say I have a lot of sympathy for them when they lose their jobs.

@drew Wakariuk, my criticism of one party’s suggested tendency to violence is not an endorsement of anothers. We have the right to peaceful protest. The moment violence begins, no matter who starts it, it is unacceptable.

ANDREW STEPHENSON So they are cowards then to scard to face the people whos lives and jobs they want to destroy. So they run and hide in ottawa. Typical lefty idiots,

Ezra has an awesome video on youtube, where he takes out the treaty with the aboriginals. He even reads it out, focusing on the part where the aboriginals are supposed to keep the peace, as a part of the agreement. That was to show how the aboriginals that do things like block trains are not honouring their part of the treaties.

Sean Penson we do not want your pine beetles that eco kooks let spread. Come take them back. And go dump some more human waste into the ocean, which by the way is far more damaging.
