Jay Kelly the Liberal Party agent who trolls this site has attempted to equivocate the spending of the current Trudeau government with other governments. He also tried to conflate deficit with debt (an ancient Liberal government instrument to confuse/lie to taxpayers).

As an agent of the Liberal government Jay Kelly knows that deficit means spending more than you take in as revenues and debt is what amasses as you borrow to meet spending obligations that your income revenues did not cover. Trudeau Jr wants to spend 30 billion a year more than he takes in at a time the federal debt is 635 billion ($635,000,000,000.00)

Trudeau Jr. will spend 60 billion ($60,000,000,000) more than his hopes to receive in taxes – which means what Jay Kelly? – that’s right; that is 60 billion in debt the feds will owe and it bumps the amassed federal debt to $700 billion.

The interest on this debt which is accumulating at 24% a year is in in the neighborhood of $26 billion a year – with provincial debt Canadians will have $64 BILLION WILL BE TAKEN OUT OF THE ECONOMY TO SERVICE GOVERNMENT DEBTWITH NO REDUCTION IN THE DEBT – that’s $64 billion that could have built hospitals, schools, roads, went to healthcare or Canada pensions that is gone EVERY YEAR! The yearly debt payment is higher than Trudeau’s spending making his spending irrelevant – if I ran my business like this the bank would own what was left of my assets and home.

THIS- is the only chart that matters in Federal finance:
https://www.fraserinstitute.org/sites/default/files/authors/brief%20history%2012.png

Please notice that exponential debt spending went stratospheric during Turdeau’s father’s government and took only a short decline during the Martin-Harper years. Any other explanation is deception to deflect from reckless irresponsible governments who deficit spend while taking more than they spend out of government services in debt service charges.

@ Drew – Re: what you said to Jay.

I laugh at the leftards/socialists because they think the Chretien/Martin government was so fiscally responsible when they took billions from the E.I. account and cut back on the provincial transfer payments to the provinces in order to create their false surplus and all during good economic times.

That would be like someone taking from their savings account to bring their chequing account into the black and thinking they are so very fiscally responsible and cutting back on their children’s allowances at the same time to help pad the chequing account.

Yup, that probably IS fiscal responsibility in their feeble leftard minds.

Then they have the temerity to compare that financial record with Harper running a deficit during the worst recession since the great depression, and Harper not only eliminated the deficit by the end of his term but did so while lowering taxes and keeping Canada as one of the strongest economies. Harper had to even replace the money the Liberals stole from the E.I. account during that terrible recession.

Liberals are a joke when it comes to fiscal responsibility made all the more sad that they think they are good at it. After all, “the financed will balance themselves”, won’t they?

Ontario Liberals use Tax dollars to reward Gov’t employees and special interests so that they can secure those votes. They also like to over tax or charge too much for Hydro and then give you a discount later trying to appear like they are helping the poor when really its their fault in the first place for the high Hydro rates.
So, if the Feds spend $6 billion per year, it might be on hiways and schools or some other project but be sure they will do it in a way to shore up votes in a place they can secure seats. So if that means you voted Liberal they will tax you then reward you with your money.
So to a degree you do get what you want, but its a crime really to play this came. Instead the Gov’t should simply do the job and not intentionally cut gas plants for example, waste a billion to buy a vote or two. Because those billions can be spent better, either in our pockets or on more important causes.

Recently a neighbor of mine commented on Potato head making a great trade deal with China. Even though he lost his job to China, his wife had to return to the work force to make ends meet, and his kids are doing without the fashionable clothes and newer bicycles, this moron has yet to see that any trade deal with China is another death stroke for Canadian manufacturing. The problem is not Justin, it is the people who put him there
commented 2016-09-26 02:56:01 -0400
Jay Kelly you want to bet that Justin will create more debt in one term than Harper did in 2? Even with raising taxes. Let me know loser.
commented 2016-09-26 02:54:37 -0400
Jay Kelly Harper governed when the world was in recession halfwit, and he did well when he had a majority and he LOWERED TAXES!!! Chretin and Martin stole tens of billions from EI and pensions and transfers to make a phony surplus during non recession times. And if you actually used logical thought and compared dollar values and rates of inflation you would realize that PET the filthy commy puke created the most debt and that is while raping Alberta for over 100 billion. Also the Ontario libs raised the debt for the province more than Harper did for the whole country during his term. So try again you brainless twerp. Alberta was doing quite well under conservatives , even the corrupt ones. You are an idiot.

Sometimes there is discussion of the annual deficit under the Liberals and the Conservatives. I you have any doubts you can just Google “deficit” under Mulroney, Martin, Chretien, and Harper. It is quite striking.

Even though the Conservatives talk about fiscal responsibility, and almost brag that they are responsible, the figures are staggering.

If you are interested in this, please Google the data for yourselves.

Jay Kelly has not done his historic due diligence in wrongly comparing Trudeau deficit/debt spending to post WW1 spending.

Federal debt after WW1 was 1.1 million paid off before 1930 , WE built a national railway with less than 1/1000th of the debt Trudeau has run up 30 billion deficits on 635 billion in debt.

Also the post war infrastructure planning was done without income tax revenues from individuals.

Kelly’s Canadian history book was published at LPC HQ this week.

Great analogy, Jay. (Except the war part, or the part where we actually build anything, instead of just giving money to the UN.)

But you got the “spend spend spend” part right. 1 out of 3’s still pretty good for a Liberal.

Sean Penson said, “Join the fun, share the funds! Join the Liberal Party of Canada today!”

There is a higher chance the universe will snuff out of existence tomorrow.

“Spend, spend, spend” seems to be the mantra of the Liberals when it comes to infrastructure.

It is a bit like at the end of the Second World War when the Canadian government encouraged everyone to get active in building up new things: schools, towns, industries and so on. Then the government forked out huge amounts of money to support this renewal.

Certainly for Toronto, and for Montreal, the spending on infrastructure will pay off big time.

I suspect it is a wise choice.

This Liberal infrastructure plan is an “Adscam” to distribute public payola to party clients – after a year with FOI requests it will be another Liberal patronage scandal – it’s what they do – it’s genetic – 3rd world politics gives us 3rd world corruption. and the liberals have run a banana republic regime since the 60s

Yep!
Leave it to Schlong Pension to make a comment like.
Don’t worry everyone, the budget will balance itself.
Right Schlong?

Pay for play. The system has always been rigged but it is so flagrant now because the socialists know they have won. Any independent media that we had has long been absorbed into the Liberal Party and the Government.
Democracy and the power of the people is a complete illusion. Ontario is lost . Alberta will be a complete basket case. But that’s economics. Our culture is decaying rapidly and sellouts like Trudeau are giving our country up to the Muslims. Insanity and folly , but what can we do?

Sean P – see your true colors you just proclaimed! You are a thieving Libtard!
The reason the rest of us are trying to fight this – we have some common sense – which is a totally foreign concept to Lieberal libtards. Somewhere, someone down the road needs to do the paying for all this bullcrap. How can moron zombies like you think it’s great to shut down all our Canadian resource industries – the ones paying for these expenditures and at the same time borrowing billions for fantasy projects – none of which will happen in western Canada.
Sean get out your moms purse and start paying!!! … oh I forgot – you are a useless welfare bum with a computer.

Shut up, Ms Penson, you disgusting pervert.

Just simply too funny, Sean admitted he trolls for the Libs. What happened Gordon getting tired of denying or just taking a breather on this article?

Justin will take the 60 Big Ones and Piss it up the wall, using Government Jets to fly to far away places with all his best friends, drinking exotic wines and sampling the local flesh. Meanwhile, back in Canada the poor will go hungry because the Food Banks are empty, the food all being taken by Justin’s Islamic friends, who prefer to keep all their money, the Tax Payers gave them, and spend it on Bomb Making equipment.

This is the new Canada, under Liberalism.

Of course the Liberal Infrastructure plan will only benefit Liberals and Liberal cronies. We can expect no different from socialists. This is, apparently, what Eastern Canada wants since it is they who on the majority voted in these crooks. Must be the east is where most of the Liberal cronies live.

Even in the 1930s, what the Roosevelt government did concerning public works projects had really only a negligible effect on the Depression era economy (which FDR’s other policies worsened in many an instance). Why should we believe Justin playing rainmaker today?
