"Would Rex Murphy have been banned? I don't think so"

Rebel Staff

Duane Bratt, Political Science Professor at Mount Royal University, came on my show to discuss the broader implications of Alberta NDP Premier Notley's attempt to block reporters from TheRebel.media from the legislature.

As he notes, given the evolving media landscape, "It's a problem that didn't exist two weeks ago."

WATCH my entire conversation with Duane Bratt HERE.

NDP popularity at 20% and dropping looks like it will be a one term leadership for her and her party! Now the conservatives will need to build a honest party or the Wildrose will be given the next chance!

Andrew Sheldon – "Jobless claims up 100% in Alberta …Good job Notley you piece of shit. "

Back in reality, a 70% drop in the price of oil is the story.

bill Smith – " a large part of the population has morphed into bat-shit crazy beyond recognition"

The problem is the “echo chambers”, where extremists of various stripes go off into their corners and feed themselves mostly false interpretations of reality. The problem exists on both the left and the right. However, do not despair, that’s the internet, and quite a lot of people are still pretty sensible.

Mike Piesse – “33% approval and dropping faster than …”

A few percent of people who would have voted NDP otherwise voted Liberal. Sounds pretty stable to me.

Tony Benjamin – “The mainstream media also feeds the myth that conservatives are dangerous, radical, extremist and a threat to Canada”

Uhhh, would that be the same mainstream media that specifically endorsed the Conservatives in the last election?

Ellie Kay – " “HARM” was done here"

The site probably raked in additional tens of thousands in donations as a result of the scandal, and attracted significant attention, probably including new readership. It would be virtually impossible to prove that this was in any way damaging.

“Any transfer of Tax Payer Provincial Funds that the NDP is currently in control of transferred to the TheRebel.media is something that we should all support.”

As I suspected. Most of you folks only oppose government spending on media when it doesn’t say what you want it to say.

If you watched Rex on the National last night he was incomprehensible. I think he was trying to take an erudite shot at Donald Trump but I can’t be sure.

Please don’t think I watch the National or the CBC, I record the show on Thursdays to catch Rex. Well on fast forward to get to Rex, I avert my eyes lest I vomit at the sight of the tax-funded parasite Mansbridge and his tax-funded leftist cronies.

Is smoking her only vice? The way her face looks she must inhale 3 packs a day. Not saying that to be ignorant, just an observation.

Notley’s world is real simple: echo-chamber discourse, narrow optics, small intellect , tunnel vision – if it ain’t unionized and venal, it ain’t legit

So far she’s tried to unionize farmers and now journalists.

Dear Diary;
Normally I like to give the impression that I enjoy fantasizing about a good cat-fight, but with that little dust-up going on in Alberta between Sheila and my left-winger what’s-her-name I could use a feel-good story going out there about this wonderful government and its natural benevolence towards the news media.
I don’t remember if I promised this or not, but in any event Hedy Fry (who’s in my cock-us) is going to chair some heritage committee thing for a study which will “stimulate definitive action” on the financial struggles of large national media outlets with regard to how lawmakers can help Canadian journalism survive.
Even her NDP critic, Pierre Nantel, said he welcomes the study and says, “it will be important in particular to see how the media is serving Canada’s linguistic minority communities” yes, we all know who he really means by that, (but shhh. mum’s the word).

Snotley really screwed up and she should pay!
How could anyone support this NDP nightmare?

Yesterday, Calgary Herald columnist Don Braid, who generally comes across as an apologist for Notley, bemoaned the fact that the NDP “stupidly” have elevated Ezra’s profile. According to Braid, “The only thing that might disappoint Levant is the government’s abrupt apology Wednesday, and the decision to allow The Rebel into future media events, pending a review by a retired journalist. This had to be Levant’s dream cause — a battle to the death with the Alberta NDP, all the way to the Supreme Court”. Not really ; it costs a lot of money to have to go to the court for something that should not even be denied in a country that is supposed to allow free speech. Meanwhile, Notley could use taxpayers’ money to pay for her court costs. Also, by the time the issue would have gone to and been dealt with by the Supreme Court could take years and thereby achieve Notley’s aim of silencing The Rebel. As far as characterizing the NDP as offering an “abrupt apology”, this was not an apology for wrong doing. Instead, they carefully characterized what they did as a “mistake”; you know like an ‘honest mistake’, an unintentional one, not made with malice aforethought or they didn’t know any better. No, this was not a mistake, but a deliberate, calculated vindictive action by the NDP, with respect to, in Braid’s words, “an outfit they absolutely despise” and the NDP’s "attempt to punish The Rebel” for daring to criticize it, especially with the release of Sheila Gunn-Reid’s “The Destroyer”.

Alberta DOJ needs to clarify in writing or Ezra will be suing to get a SCOC ruling if he has to.

What a waste of government resources, but the dirty pig Notley doesn’t care.

Hope that next cigarette kills you Notley.

Ellie Kay: There is a part of me that agrees with you but it would be a costly and long ordeal which would end up being paid for by the tax payer. If it was coming out of her wallet then a lesson would have been learned. It would also be an excellent source of revenue for the Rebel as well as send a message to any other government official who might be inclined to try this.

Take any lefty ‘cause’.. they start out as a legitimate grievance.. ie higher suicide / substance abuse / poverty / drop-out rate among the First Nations…. but over a period of time, the legitimate grievances morph onto a spectacle of absurdity…. feminists smearing menstrual blood on their faces, black students punching the crap out of some one who says ‘all lives matter’, etc…. So finally, enough is enough, there is a back-lash of common sense….. to the lefties, who have nurtured and evolved their cause over time, it appears to them that sane people are hateful and divisive.
I saw this first-hand… I believed Canada was fairly normal, not very left or right, very stable… I go away for a decade, then come back… to my shock, a large part of the population has morphed into bat-shit crazy beyond recognition.
It looks if this lefty insanity increases any more, we have peaked and now collapsing… in Rome, it was drinking leaded water, in Canada it is drinking orange or green kool aid, or red iced tea….
It looks to me that Canada is just entering its obama period now… I can predict in 2019, or 2023 at the latest, we will have something akin to Sander / Trump… maybe we’ll have O’leary and some currently unknown commie.
I see us at a cross-roads, but still not too late to get things back on track.

33% approval and dropping faster than Justin`s mommies pants … I am actually surprised it`s that high but I bet the “mistake” cost`s her half of that in the next poll

This attack on the conservative voice needs to stop. The mainstream media also feeds the myth that conservatives are dangerous, radical, extremist and a threat to Canada and insists that we need to be shamed and silenced. See Maclean’s article “The angry, radical right.” Please help me stand up for fairness. Please support my petition: https://www.change.org/p/wendy-lynn-stop-maclean-s-from-being-unjustly-offensive-to-canadians-ask-them-to-recant-apologize?recruiter=159326249&utm_source=share_petition&utm_medium=facebook&utm_campaign=share_for_starters_page&utm_term=des-lg-no_src-no_msg&fb_ref=Default

Ezra has said they were going to sue (but not for financial compensation) I disagree… “HARM” was done here on behalf of Albertan citizens, and all Canadians.. (Not just TheRebel.media..) On behalf of the people please follow through with any and all LEGAL options available to get the NDP on record, and if financial compensation is available Albertans will support it. Any transfer of Tax Payer Provincial Funds that the NDP is currently in control of transferred to the TheRebel.media is something that we should all support.

PLEASE Sue for Financial Compensation!
