Chronically inept Social Worker turned Finance Minister Joe Ceci released Alberta's first quarter fiscal update this week, revealing that the province will plunge even further into debt than was already predicted despite the recent jump up in oil prices.
This year the Alberta Government will borrow $12 billion and carry a deficit of nearly $11 billion. The worst part? Just servicing the debt will cost the province $1 billion this year.
Alberta will pay $1 billion for interest and other fees because the NDP are borrowing money and getting Alberta's credit downgraded like it's going out of style. That money is just gone without a single thing to show for it.
Watch my video to see what $1 billion could do if it were spent on infrastructure, education or healthcare instead of the province's credit card.
When you're stuck for hours in a traffic snarl, or sitting for eons in a crowded emergency room, be sure to thank Joe Ceci and Rachel Notley. The NDP are why we can't have nice things.
