Anti-oil thugs shut down Energy East hearings in Montreal BUT there was a bright spot

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

The National Energy Board hearing in Montreal was supposed to be a fact-gathering effort for TransCanada’s proposed Energy East pipeline project that would create thousands of jobs.

Ideally it would have been an opportunity for those in favour of the project to present facts that might change minds but for anti-oil protesters, facts don’t matter.

They just want to shut down the Canadian oil industry so they showed up at the Montreal hearings where politicians like Denis Coderre have already whipped up anti-oil sentiment across Quebec.

Police made some arrests inside when things got out of hand but what was interesting, was what was happening outside where members of the UA union were protesting in SUPPORT of Energy East.

Watch as I also give some attention to the UA union which represents plumbers, welders and pipe fitters who would benefit from the project.

Unfortunately, they’re fighting against a tide of their union brothers and sisters who are funding many of the groups that want the oil to stay in the ground.

Actually there is 0 union money going against the pipeline from Canadian sources. Best look to the south. The USA plays dirty politics the republicans and conservatives don’t want Canada to have any pipelines to tide waters.

C’mon, this is Quebec so just fix this in the normal fashion. Cut Coderre a cheque or just a bag of cash and his position will change so fast it will make your head spin.

So lets get this straight:

Most of the pipeline had been built decades ago when oil flowed from the West to the East.

Then it was reversed and took Saudi, Iraqi, Iranian, Kuwaiti oil brought into Canada and processed in the East to West.

Now the idea is to again move oil from the West to the East and then along to New Brunswick.

So where exactly is the problem? Less tankers off the East coast with less chance for a disaster?

Then there is the genius mayor of Montreal. “Oil and water don’t mix.” Right. Why not have another train disaster in Quebec and with that half another town burn down and maybe another 47 dead?

I do hope that Mr. Mayor takes into consideration all the transfer payments his city benefits from transfer payments from the West. Also, maybe someone should remind him that dumping thousands of tonnes of unprocessed waste into the St. Lawrence River is far worse than a few hundred of litres from a possible pipeline leak (remember, pipelines are monitored and sections can be shut down remotely if there is a leak) on land or water. But in his mind, raw sewage is so much better. Yea. Tell it to the people down stream.

Quebec is sitting on 17 trillion cubic meters of natural gas that it won’t extract. Simply refuses. The PQ stated that it wouldn’t do anything about it until Quebec is (yea, right) independent because it doesn’t want to give transfer payments to the other provinces. Why are the Liberals of Quebec not moving ahead on this? Do you know how rich Quebec could be, even with its bloated bureaucracy and Cadillac social programs?

Don’t get me started… I could rant about the idiotic Quebec governments, both past and present, for hours. The only thing they agree upon is that everything wrong with Quebec is la faut des federals and les maudit anglais.

I really don’t want our precious oil to go down east anyway, these ignorant hypocrites don’t deserve our oil, let them freeze in the dark is what they deserve. Imagine dumping millions of gallons of raw sewage is quite ok though, stupid idiots. Going to Washington State is better by far also bypassing drug-prone BC is ok with me.

Right on the money BOB EGLI!…. The more things change the more they stay the same…. You would think the Easterner twits buying Middle Eastern oil would have had “the penny drop” by now, but no… So it’s time once again to get those “Let The Eastern Bastards Freeze In The Dark” bumper stickers printed anew… I would also love to the see the reaction in Montreal/Ottawa if the four Western Premiers now announced that they are going to hold a special summit dedicated to formulating an action plan to get more oil and LNG ports up and running in B.C. and even Washington State… And a petulant Boy Blunder trying to nip such discussions in the bud, would do wonders for “focusing” Westerners on the serious issue of Western Separation…

Unions that would benefit from the pipeline are paying to protest that pipeline. What a bunch of stupid bloody idiots!

Good to hear, though that at least one union is protesting for the pipeline. Good to hear that not all unions are loaded full of idiots.

It could be best for Alberta-Sask. if this pipeline doesn’t get built. With the Liberals running things, there is not much hope that the West is going to get a fair deal, which will lead to Separation talks. During these talks, if an Energy East Pipeline exists, Trudeau will threaten to shut it down if talks continue. He will have the West right where he wants it. Its main function will be to support Central and Eastern Canada. How to get the oil running to the West Coast is another topic.

Are ALL protesters so stupid looking? Do they not have suits, clothing, grooming products? Do the green supporters not pay enough for these idiots to take a shower?
And where were the security forces? Oh yeah, unions also. Speaks for themselves.

The second any of these wimps had to go without a luxury enabled by fossil fuels they would collapse into a ball and be unable to cope.

Western civilization is hell bent of committing suicide, and not a slow suicide either. I don’t believe we have more than two or three years left before chaos and anarchy reign supreme and western civilization disintegrates into global warfare.

It shows why union membership should be optional. If they really want to take a stand, they should charge their Union Leaders with Breach of Trust, for not representing their interests, but in fact, paying for protestors to keep them OUT of work!!
