Canada's Media Party freaks out over Harper budget

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

Canada's media outlets  are supposed to be competitors, but you'd never know it if you watched their coverage after the Harper budget came out yesterday.

They all became hysterical about the same predictable talking points.

I look at their complaints about the budget -- then present some of my own.

Needless to say, my questions and concerns are very different than the ones the rest of the media was shouting about last night.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments!

Donald: Andrew Coyne, a Conservative? When I watched CBC 3 yrs ago & he was on the panel, more than not, he was always bashing the Conservatives. Now, I was wondering if the lame stream media meet at Starbucks to discuss their talking points before air time, as Brian said, they all sound the same. Complain & whine is their motto, & like others, I too missed the former Sun News journalists debating with the Liberal pundits. Hey Brian……..where is Ray Hurd these days……I miss him & his comments.."…the only sane Liberal around.

i apologize i misquoted it actually reads " ontario presents balanced budget. avoids tax increases"..
commented 2015-04-24 15:23:23 -0400
the cbc, laughably, sent out an email news alert “Ontario liberals present balanced budget”… andrew coyne, who appears, regularly as the conservative voice …says it includes an $11 billion deficit….who to believe?

The Federal gov’t giveth and then we get slam dunked by Winnie and her mob, go figure…

I miss watching SUN TV every day but never more so then on budget Budget Day. All we got from all the MSM was snivelling, whinning and distortion of what was really said in the budget.
Good budget Mr. Harper. If we are ever stupid enough to put the political left in control of this country again the decisions made last week will just make it a little harder for them to take away some of the taxpayers financial freedom without it being obvious that we’re being robbed by the socialists.
commented 2015-04-24 11:24:29 -0400
Of course they flipped out. The know they can’t win honestly so we see the Nanos support index garbage out almost every day since the budget, all kids of hypocritical claims like robbing the EI fund again, slashing the Military, which was done last year, and of course fraud. Always fraud.

These are the same crybabies who compare the ‘Harper Government’ to Oceania, lol. They must have all failed Grade 11 English literature if they’re that blind…

I’m furious that the CONS want to cut my taxes! Shouldnt thwy be raising them because climate change and stuff?
commented 2015-04-23 22:31:02 -0400
Yep. I think it was politically smart as well. Regardless of Justin’s complaints the people who will benefit from Harpers budget won’t complain, and they vote.

We need to stop referring to these propagandists as the “media”. They are an appendage of the socialist parties, the Liberals and the NDP. I just wish some politician had the guts to take on the entire group and call them a bunch of left wing communists. We all know thats what they are so call them out on it!

So, where’s Terry Rudden et al on how biased this story is? He always has such a problem with anything connected in any way with SNN or Ezra, and the obvious bias is his favourite target. Nevermind that this is an openly biased news site, and everyone on it is openly biased, and usually the stories are presented as opinion or at least told from the right wing perspective. I was hoping he would be posting his usual stupidities on this story, fishing for the slapdown he usually gets when he posts on here about how unbiased it is supposed to be, for some reason known only to him. Anyhoo, I do have a small issue with the story as it is. I watched some of the first responses put out by the pundits on both big networks and they both seemed to be … I won’t say “positive” about it but all the talking heads seemed disappointed in the fact that they couldn’t really find anything to slam it with. I guess the storm that’s followed is driven by the opposition’s reactions, and the media party’s attempts to turn whatever that turns into into wind for the opposition party’s sails. Not going to work, if the best they can come up with is Harper’s granddaughter. Pretty smart on the part of the CPC, to have a budget that isn’t going to turn into an election issue a few months before the election, IMHO.

Great vid! Cant wait for some about Ontario’s budget.
Also, if it is possible, I think adding some sort of way to allow members to make profiles for this website would be epic! Each person can make a description, set were they are on a political spectrum. Just something cool to add to the site. Id even pay a small fee to have that!

it was sad to watch barton interview susan eng and then when she said she liked the budget had to argue with her..then it was the turn of the head of the municipalites, who said that they got everything that they wanted…barton course had to try and argue that also…. solomon, barton, mansbridge and especially milewski… what a waste of tax dollars.

I listened to the CBC yap on about not enough money for climate change ad nauseum yesterday. Not sure what they wanted done…more money for David Suzuki maybe??!!
commented 2015-04-22 23:17:51 -0400
Ezra and Brian revealed the co-operation between CBC, CTV and Global when they were with Sun. They all talk and they co-ordinate their progressive bigotry. It’s a media association – their “Thing”. We will see more of it in the upcoming election campaign.

What can we do about it? This. Donate, support and share. We will prevail.

BTW, in case any federal CPC reps are listening……without the CRTC, that unholy association would unwind. Just sayin’.

My goodness gracious this so called media party is totally out to lunch………They are running scared now because most people seem to like this budget…….

The MSM/media party are just fronts for the socialists that have lost control. Clearly the socialists (CTV, globe and mail, torstar, CBC, national post) are on the out and are heading toward “fringe status”. Who works for a living and doesn’t want to pay less taxes? Check mate you nasty pig socialists.

Who listens to the dinosaur Peter Mansbridge anymore. The guy along with the CBC need to go and don’t let the door slam on there way out. I don’t want my tax dollars funding this immoral, entitled, totally biased and out of date farce anymore. They are a total disaster and they don’t even know it .
commented 2015-04-22 21:07:02 -0400
Is anyone with half a brain surprised. The MSM are a pathetic sad joke and shows the abject ignorance of the masses of people who actually believe the slanted, half truths they spew. I don’t wear a tin hat, and we know the MSM are in the tank for trudolt and libtards et al. they have been for a half century so no shock there. I do believe the editorial pages of ALL of them are controlled by just a hand full of corporates at the top who want the least competent hack they can promote to be PM…thus their support for the incompetent manboy trudolt. Being as naive and well politely, not so bright as trudolt is, he would be extremely pliable to manipulate and use…so of course they re going to attack the budget, anything to help trudolt get elected.

Why should there be money for Global Warming, when there hasn’t been any since Harper was elected?
Why should their be any money for Natives? From what I’ve seen all it odes is enable substance abuse, violence and dependance. 1 free post secondary course as long as grades are passing at university or technical school is all that should be offered. Getting a job and learning to be responsible would be much more beneficial to them as a people.

You made me laugh, Bill, too funny.

We have a PM, who delivers a balanced budget with no tax hikes, one which helps the people who most need it in my opinion, with income splitting. I’m sure all those working families with kids, won’t be cursing Harper for this one. Its not like it is a new idea. It has happened before.

The already needy are paying so little and are so well subsidized that they cannot complain that they don’t get anything in their stocking! We do need to make moves with the debt, but I think Harper has made the right moves for the time and situation. He got us through the recession, intact. I do not believe a Liberal gov. could have done that, and I don’t believe a Liberal gov. is capable of making good economic choices for us in the future, (if God forbid they are given the opportunity). Liberals pander to those who think they can get more for nothing, it is why Justin has the popularity he has.

Ya just gotta love the comedy act Don Martin is. That sad Ottawa butt-snorkeler has been breathing in opposition bench flatulence so long basic math eludes him. Get some fresh air Don and leave political commentary to those who can pass a sobriety test.

Here we are again. Budget time. So I always remember when….
Joe (who) Clark was Prime Minister. He was going to raise the price of Gasoline by a few cents per litre to pay off the Debt Deficit of 600 million dollars. (This is by memory, not facts). I remember the price of Gasoline was 19 cents a litre.
Trudeau Said he would never raise the price of Gasoline. Trudeau won the election. Within a short period of time, he raised Gasoline to 21 cents a litre. By the time he was done, it was more than 26 cents a litre.
Brian Lilley…Thank you for reminding me.
Lower taxes, smaller government, pay off the f’ing debt already.

Savings for families. Tax cuts. Tax incentives for business. Substantial investment in infrastructure. Balanced budget. What the hell is wrong with Stephen Harper and the Conservatives? Are they trying to lose the election. Kathleen Wynnes Provincial liberals showed that all these Conservative initiatives and benefits for the voters are the wrong way to go. Tax the piss out of us. Cut services and investments. Tax businesses out of business. Gouch voters for personal liberal gain and agendas. Increase that deficit and when it gets out of control…just ignore it…some future generation can worry about it. That seems to be the way to wynne elections. Justin Trudeau and Mulcair will vouch for that. They have plain out said it in their critiques.

“Does anybody actually listen to Peter Mansbridge? Why?”

Yes, I do. Sometimes I am under the weather a bit and need to watch a comedy show from time to time.

The more the left wingers and the media party (those two groups being the same thing) cry and whine over the budget, the more I know it is a good budget.
Because all they want to do is tax more and spend more, and all the Conservatives want to do is tax less and spend less.

The two ideologies are diametrically opposed to one another. The Conservative approach is, of course, the correct approach. But then I do not need to say that statement here as I am “preaching to the choir”.

Tom Green – Harper has a majority because I believe most Canadians thankfully are able to in the most part see through the media subterfuge. Knock on wood.

“Canada’s Media Party freaks out over Harper budget”

Of course they do, did we expect anything different?
commented 2015-04-22 18:58:27 -0400
It isn’t just biased, it is election engineering. Between the unions and Media it is amazing Harper got a majority. We have no media fairness. No wonder Sun was doomed.
