Poll: Canadians worried about Trudeau's 25,000 Syrian refugees by Christmas -- but is it too late?

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

We're about to bring 25,000 Syrian refugees to Canada by the end of this year and now Justin Trudeau’s idea is finally being vetted.

The only thing media in this country did during the election was find people who said it could be done, albeit without discussing vetting the refugees. That minor detail was left out . . . until now when it's becoming clear that Canadians preferred Stephen Harper's cautious approach.

An Angus Reid poll on the incoming government found Canadians like the idea of Trudeau taking power but they don't agree with some of his key policies, like rolling back the tax free savings limit, legalizing pot and the majority of Canadians don’t like the idea of bringing in 25,000 refugees by Christmas. We could have told you that since we commissioned a poll during the election which found 51 percent of Canadians opposed Trudeau’s Syrian refugee plan and only 39 percent supported it

It didn't matter then and it doesn’t matter to Trudeau now what people or logistics experts in refugee settlement think. This is going ahead. But what happened to Trudeau’s answer to everything that, unlike Harper, he'd listen to the experts?

What about experts like lawyer Richard Kurland, one of the most knowledgeable voices on the immigration and refugee file who told the Globe that “Twenty-five thousand refugees by Jan. 1 is possible if incomplete security checks for 25,000 people from the Middle East looks like an acceptable risk,”

Is it an acceptable risk? It isn’t to me. Have you seen Ezra Levant’s report on the poll done on Syrians? This is a poll on the views of Syrians on a whole host of topics from their support for Sharia to their support for ISIS. It found 31 percent of Syrians support ISIS and their brutal regime. Will those people be screened out?

If you haven't watched Ezra’s report then you need to see it.

Because you're right to have second thoughts about this and Trudeau's other plans but it may be too late.

Next time, maybe there should be more vetting done during an election campaign (as we at the Rebel tried to do) rather than waiting until the bad ideas are being implemented.

Easy, take over a Canadian passenger ship, and ship them in, just like wartime, Germany has done similar, why not here.
commented 2015-11-04 18:49:23 -0500
Sure. Bring in 25 thousand or better non vetted ISIS wannabes and house them at army bases close to guns and other military equipment. What could possibly go wrong? Yikes!

Canadians will find out once the Muslim on non-Muslim rapes escalate.

Typical. If it is a Liberal idea it must be good. Damn what the people think or want and full steam ahead!

I would like to have our new PM tell me what I must do to make these new Muslims happy. I need people that want to work—-they can pray on their own time. I would like to enjoy my pork sandwich —without offending a paedophile. Justin should tell us the rules before he decides to get NICE.

They are coming – we cannot stop it – we can only pray trudope is in a serious car accident now.

Glenn Craig great point, Luther says nothing about getting oil form them but whines about their legitimate defence needs by calling armoured vehicles arms like a pathetic fool.
commented 2015-11-03 20:25:01 -0500
Luther the CWB is not mandatory anymore and the Saudis are buying legitimate miltary vehicles from a private company you lying fool.

I’m not sure all the Syrian refugees will appreciate the irony of the ‘Christmas’ promised airlift of 25,000 mostly muslim army in 2015.

But I do know that come early November, 2016, when the shops and most residents begin to put out their annual Christmas decorations, there will be outrage at Christmas lights and celebrations for this non-muslim holiday at it ‘offends’ their sensibilities and is not inclusive enough for them.

Lookout Canada, there are big changes coming – and I can’t see anything good coming from this. We really don’t need to change Canadian culture any more than it has, just to show how nice we are. For as we start to admit this culture of hate and misogyny, we will have to change and we will become a less nice of a culture. It’s really a shame.

There is no real need or useful reason to bring these people here. The Justin smirk does not do it for me. They don’t want to become like ‘us’, they want ‘us’ to become like ‘them’. That’s how it is with islam.

To maintain a safe Canada, we should close as much as possible the door to muslim immigration.
Dealing with and following potentially thousands of more terrorists and security risks is not something we should have to look forward to.

This is what the fools voted for and this is just the beginning. Exactly what is happening with that lunatic Merkel in Germany, is what is planned for Canada.

Luther….the infamous “opium wars” were over what economists call a “balance in trade deficit”…..China was selling lots of tea to the British through the East India Tea Company (who had a better fleet than the Royal Navy) but would only accept silver..or opium…in exchange…then they got upity about the opium.

The five billiol dollar deal to sell LAV (light armoured vehicles) to the Saudis is to offset the oil we buy from them….so you can’t have it both ways…if it is immoral to sell them troop transport…it is also immoral to buy oil from them…actually taking money from the regime is less immoral than giving money to the regime…..

To put the opium wars in today’s context …it would be as if Walmart could afford a much better navy than the USA and decided to send a task force (without the USA’s approval)…to Hong Kong (which means “Punget Harbour” from the smell of the opium)…and force the Chinese to buy billions of dollars woth of heroin to balance what was bought to stock the Walmart stores.

It sure would be nice to have a PM that was not hell-bent on proving to the Planet and everybody on the Planet that he is a ‘nice’ PM and wants everybody to like all Canadians because we are just ever so NICE.
We used to have one of those PMs. He stood up to the UN. He didn’t get sucked in to crazy notions that he could control the Climate. He wanted working Canadians to keep some of their paycheck and had confidence in their ability to manage their own finances. He didn’t suck up to Muslim terrorists and held them to account . Awww well.
That was then -and this now.

While I will be castigated for this – lefty folks need to think a bit.

The following is a list of their beliefs formulated into questions. Not hatred – just logical questions.

Ask the Syrians these questions:

Will you renounce Sharia law?
Will you renounce the killing of apostates?
Will you renounce forced marriage of young girls to old men?
Will you renounce honour killings? (pc: should be more of it – it helps the attrition rate!)
Will you renounce the killing of those who sketch or draw Mohammed?
Will you renounce female genital mutilation?
Will you renounce the beating of wives in accordance with the book?
Will you renounce isolation and preach assimilation into Canadian* culture? (*insert name of infidel / kafir nation)
Will you renounce halal fees on food items sold in grocery stores (fees ultimately or directly go to support terror)?
Will you renounce the killing of homosexuals?
Will you renounce the subjugation of women?
Will you renounce hate speak towards non ’slamics?
Will you renounce Taqiyya?
Will you renounce slavery?
Will you renounce the automatic call for a slammers death if they do all of the above?
And more – much more……

The answer is always no.

You still want to allow them in and live next door to you – meaning you are supporting their beliefs?

A simple yes or no would suffice.

@ Luther Bowers – no one is arguing your point on Saudi – so stop deflecting – it is a cheap method of changing the subject – get back on the subject or go away.

Once these “refugees” are here, we can place them wherever. We told them we’d accept them; we never said where they’d end up…
commented 2015-11-03 15:02:31 -0500
There’s plenty of space up in northern Northwest Territories and Nunavut… we could start a new community there, just for them! No need to worry about extremists; they’d be so isolated there wouldn’t be a problem!

A Canada wide, none partisan referendum should be held on the immigration of, ‘so called Syrian’ so called refugees’. This is to important for a simple minded Twit like Trudeau to make on his own. At the very least a Bill should be introduced and passed through Parliament. Dose Trudeau think he is a Dick Tator?
commented 2015-11-03 14:51:03 -0500
I’m surprised you are surprised? I’m surprised the number is not more like 50+ %. We don’t accept what Ezra tells us. It is just in this case we already know what the deal is. We already know that a vast number, if not a majority of these refugees are false claimants. They are taking advantage of a war and a tragedy to flood naïve European nations with their masses. Imagine if they tried this march into Europe without the context of a civil war? Merkel and friends would have been obligated to stop the advance. But with the context of a civil war Merkel and others are able to fulfill their agenda of swarming Europe with a Muslim horde.

So Brian, if you and Ezra (and others on this site) are so passionate about educating us low-information citizens. That you have a role to present “the facts” that the MSM leaves out … then why no link to the polls you’re referencing?

Should we just take your word that the numbers are right and that the data actually supports your claims? When Ezra says that Syrian refugees were ‘scientifically’ polled and it turns out 97% of them “hate women” are we just expected to trust he’s representing the unalloyed truth, without any twist to support his perverse agenda?

Non-Rebel site links please.

Luther said, 😬 😬

Are all lefties always angry? It sure seems like it. Must not be happy people. Probably comes from being a “progressive”.

Luther, if you do not like what Ezra and Brian have to say, you don’t have top be here. Go to your happy place. Harper is gone now, so you can relax now. Quiet, little programmed leftie, quiet now. Shhhhhh… Quiet now.
commented 2015-11-03 14:30:15 -0500
Too late Trudeau was clear on this we are going to get these refugees, elections matter. If this is true it’s another example of how low information voters are now deciding elections and that’s scary.

Not to forget to mention that when ISIS first started there were over 500,000 palistinians living in Syria ( all of whom pledged allegiance to the caliphate and its leader ) and most “refugees” are men.

My fear is it won’t stop at 25,000.

LUTHER BOWERS, “But Harper could do no wrong….right??” Sorry Luther, but what you are putting forward, “could do no wrong”, in characterizing and denigrating conservatives is a left-wing mind set! You just have to note the posts from the leftist trolls on this site to understand that. For example, I wrote many letters to my Conservative MP complaining, demanding that the Conservative government dump the CBC. Now we will have them as a government propaganda machine forever. But would that prompt me to vote for Trudeau and all he will do this country with is left-wing policies? No way! And Ezra’s call to rebuild the conservative movement in Canada, doesn’t comes across to me as “Harper could do no wrong”.

Trudeau Jr. really wants to be like Trudeau Sr. He will do as his father did and just air lift people of Syria or the camps in the neighboring countries and bring them to Canada as his father did with Vietnamese refugees in 1979. There will be no vetting (it wouldn’t surprise me if the list of people is provided by the UNHCR). I expect that this will start ASAP which will allow for 500 people a day to start arriving at out military bases and meet his goal of Dec 25. There is a glaring difference from then to now. The people being brought here are vastly different in culture (see Bravo Zulu’s list of questions below), and most likely won’t assimilate into Canadian culture. Trudeau will carry on with his plans as they appease the people he is really representing.

Luther Bowers – Oh so you are saying that Stephen Harper is personally responsible for what you claim. Do you hold all Prime Ministers to the same scrutiny? Did you investigate any of the dirty dealings by Chretien and Pierre? Selling unarmed armored vehicles to Saudi Arabia is NOT illegal and stopping a business transaction would have had the same paper declare him an anti trade control freak.
Good try, your going to have to study a little harder to pull the wool over our eyes muffin!
