CBC is a “subsidized killer of newspapers,” especially local media

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

The left talks a lot about "media ownership" and conglomerates, but what about the fact that the CBC gets over $1 billion of our tax dollars a year, the kind of budget small, local newspapers can't possibly match?

Jackson Doughart of the Atlantic Institute of Market Studies joined me to talk about how this arrangement, encouraged by Justin Trudeau, is helping destroy privately owned Canadian media.

Hopefully with the recently announced increased funding of CBC they will be able to restore more of their local news coverage. The some say local news outlets cannot survive competition but a strong case can be made that competition encourages excellence.

CBC’s constant lies and deceptions keep the sheep lulled to sleep, until the mass rapes and terrorist attacks start. Then the sheep will be wide awake, and seeking justice or revenge!

Jim Schulz said, “… but here in Canada the cbc willingly puts itself under the thumb of the liberal party of Canada!”

Here in Canada, much of the CBC staff are far left socialists that want nothing more than to make Canada a Communist dictatorship run by the Liberal Party of Canada. They won’t grasp what it is like to live in a Communist dictatorship until they actually lived it. Unfortunately by the time the dullards learn that it is not the utopia they believed it to be, it will be too late for all of us.

CBC is garbage and useless.

Yannie that is not what was said moron.

I boycotted the cbc years ago. In a communist country the media struggles to be free, but here in Canada the cbc willingly puts itself under the thumb of the liberal party of Canada!

Chris Kealey said, “The only recourse is to boycott watching the CBC. If their ratings fall enough eventually they will become irrelevant as a media source.”

I am not sure that would work. The CBC is not funded based upon any ratings.

That doesn’t explain why newspapers in the U.S. are also failing. The CBC has something to do with that as well?

Mary Auld. Sorry but you are wrong. Natural resources such as minerals and oil belong to the individual provinces.

Any province can separate from Canada. It is called the Clarity Act. It requires a referendum by the province and then negotiate a secession with the federal government.

Anyone in Alberta interested in separating may want to look at the link on Facebook (Alberta Independence Movement).

If Quebec can separate, then Alberta can as well.

At the present the whole concept of Alberta or the West separating is all talk.

Most time when a time comes that a country splits it usually is a bloody affair because let’s face it, in the case of Canada, Eastern Canada loves to fuck Alberta for their resources leaving Alberta with a sore ass and they won’t give up their buggery very easily. Blunt? Yes. But accurate.

Mary said, ". Would like to remind you that the resources in your province belong to CANADA, not to your province "

Proof please.

Mary Auld that is a crock.

Peter Netterville…..western separation will never happen. Would like to remind you that the resources in your province belong to CANADA, not to your province and if you think the ROC will stand idly by while you steal OUR resources….you are very wrong. I totally understand your distaste for eastern Canada but please remember…..WE are suffering also under TruDOPE and Wynne and despise Toronto because of their stupidity when it comes to voting. Better if we cut Toronto off and not allow them any help, let them wither and die, it is what they deserve for the stupid choices they continue to make or, better……EVERYONE should get out and vote, all small towns, cities everyone and make Toronto’s vote no more important than anyone else’s. As long as people continue to not vote or vote for people just because ‘we have always voted…….’. We need to become smarter voters. TruDOPE, like his father, is flooding this country with people from third world and warring countries to ensure they will vote liberal in the future. He will be remembered, just like his father, in history…..as bad leaders and damaging to the country.

Ron Christensen insulted: “What a pervert.”
Typical. The left cannot present an argument, so resorts to name calling. Pathetic!

Communist Broadcast Corporation, brought to you by the Liebranos financed by the peasants!

The CBC is nothing bur a Laundromat for Canadian Brains. They are the public cleanser of minds.

They are also a bunch of fifth rate Spin Doctors who have big shares in Trudeau’s agenda of evil.

Like Trudeau they need to be stopped, as in STOP. END.

@ Ron Christensen said, “What a pervert.”

What in the world are you talking about? The CBC relationship with the Liberal party is disturbingly “intimate”, fawning all over Justin. It is sickening, and I am not the only one to notice it, even some from the left side of the political isle.

@ Bob Egli – Bob, I would like nothing better than Western separation, but there are several things that have to be worked out first.

1. If BC does not join, how will we get our resources to Asian or European markets.
2. Notley has to go.
3. Do we join the States? Some pros and cons there.

I cannot foresee a time when the CBC is defunded. And I cannot foresee a time when the CBC grows some ethics and becomes neutral and unbiased. From what I can see, the CBC will always be in bed with and make love to the Liberal party of Canada.

What a pervert.
commented 2016-03-26 11:16:42 -0400
Peter, you are correct on your three CBC statements . However there is one change in Canada that could kill this Corporation of Censorship, and that is Separation. The remaining Provinces are broke and could not afford to run this white elephant.
