The CBC is broadcasting a documentary made by a British filmmaker, all about — Donald Trump.
Does that make any sense?
Is there a lack of Donald Trump coverage on TV right now? Is there some special Canadian angle here?
No. The CBC just wants to attack Trump.
The documentary is called The Mad World of Donald Trump.
Hillary Clinton, whose sole credential is that she married Bill Clinton; who is under investigation for illegally storing top secret information on a home-made e-mail server -- that’s not a mad world?
Bernie Sanders, who actually honeymooned in the Soviet Union during the Cold War -- that’s not madness?
But Trump is?
According to the CBC's description of this documentary, it will give us a tabloid type expose about Trump's divorces. How about a documentary about Bill Clinton’s multiple victims of sexual harassment and even rape accusers?
The Canadian Broadcasting Act says the CBC is supposed to reflect Canadian culture, and fill in the gaps left by the other broadcasters.
So why is the CBC paying a British snob to attack an American Republican who is already all over the news?
Well, because to the CBC, being anti-American IS our Canadian culture. And your place is to shut up and pay for it.
I won't be watching this documentary. I can already hear anti-American snobbery every night, just by watching the CBC news.
