Church vandalized over opposition to Notley’s Bill 10: Now how will media react to a REAL hate crime?

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Commentator

Pastor Brian Coldwell is the victim of anti-Christian vandalism. He’s the director of Parents for Choice in Education, an Alberta based parents’ rights advocacy group who believe in maximum parental autonomy in the education of their children.

Parents for Choice in Education drew the ire of LGBTQ activists for their opposition to Alberta’s controversial Bill 10 and for their twin rallies for parents’ rights in May.

Pastor Brian has a large sign outside the New Testament Baptist Church and Religious School. The sign is affixed to a trailer facing Highway 16 for maximum visibility. The sign simply says, “Amend Bill 10. Protect parents rights and religious freedom.”

Overnight on June 29, someone spray painted Pastor Brian’s sign, changing it to read what looks like “protect LGTBQ kids end bigotry”.

Will the hate crime against Pastor Brian’s congregation get as much attention as Rachel Notley’s cardboard face? I think we all know the answer to that.

I’ll be following up with Pastor Brian next week to find out what police have told him and what his next steps are. But this is what Parents for Choice in Education and their allies are up against.

They’re up against people who feel they have a right to break the law just because they disagree with you. That’s dangerous.

It only counts as a hate crime if it’s against a protected group. Crimes against unprotected groups will be ignored.

(Remove the word “hate” from there and you have the basic operational instructions of an apartheid state. Go on any non-conservative website and simply say that you are Christian. Then you will understand what apartheid feels like. Or try it in real life. Works the same way in 90% of modern Canadian settings.)

Looks the SJWs are working overtime in Alberta.

Alberta has never known the nature and the hostility of the culture war until now.

This sort of nonsense has been going on in the US for over two decades, and it’s rising to a head.

Come this November, the fireworks will be impressive.

It really should say, “Protect LGBTQ kids from Islam”.

It amazes me how the people crying out for more tolerance are the least tolerant. I have heard all about the homophobia, xenophobia, phobia, phobia, phobia, and the racist hate mantra so much over and over again lately, but I see IT IS CONVENIENTLY missed when it comes to Christian-phobia,or wholesome family values phobia. Sometimes I think – if you want to be tolerated you should practice TOLERANCE.

Its getting worse not better. Online even sites ban Christians if they disagree with the Homosexual life style and have a opinion. What next rape gangs coming to your door if you don’t agree?

I think its disgusting to put your junk in the trunk, christian or not. Doesn’t that stink? Cant your parts fall off or something. I have read that new cases of aids is around 900 per 100,000 in the gay community and 90 per 100,000 in the strait community. I wish their was a Canadian article and research for this.

I didn’t know that we had to hide things or not talk about them. I thought that it was just religion and politics that some would ban from their conversations because of controversy. Now apparently is you either shove the gay stuff down your kids throats in school or you are banned or bullied or your views are spit on and spray painted over.

I think this is going to get a lot worse before it gets better. Here in Oshawa a few years ago in the paper their was a story of a guy trying to have sex with the next door neighbors dog. True story. It seems to me, their are a lot of strange things going on out there, and I don’t approve of any of them. No LGBT or ABCD or whatever, I say, keep it in your pants is the best policy. And when they take away my freedom to have a opinion against things, there is no freedom.

I want parents to have all the choice they can in education. I wish more kids were homeschooled, maybe they’d have some real life skills by age 18. Being gay is not a net positive in my life, children should be taught that there are many disadvantages to it. Schools teaching that it’s “just as good” is a slap in the face to both Christians and gays that have any sense. It’s a topic best reserved for puberty aged youth (at home), not children and never in schools.

The Rebel is known for its defense of gay-rights. In fact, the Rebel is unique in Canada in defending the right of a man to marry a man and a woman to marry a woman. The main stream media is hesitant to call this a right.

The Rebel points out that many Muslim organizations are against this “human right.” Islam, in general, is evil because it does not recognize the legitimacy of homosexual rights.

Where would be without The Rebel?

Let’s hope more in the so called gay community come to their senses and realize they are being used as a monolithic voting block by people and political parties who are completely destroying our economies and seizing the last shreds of our liberty.

Not a damn thing will be done and we all know it.

Paul Maurice well said, i doubt many gay people are on board with the fanatics. Also i wish the left could understand wanting marriage to stay as defined does not mean you want to prevent same sex people from being together, just call it something else. When sharia takes over gays will find churches to be one of the safe places for them to go for sanctuary as the left wingers who claim to care about them so much will be turning them in.

Paul Maurice, I have to agree with David, a voice of reason is very welcome.

While it is dangerous to have people breaking the law if you disagree with them, the biggest danger is the belief that you are not allowed basic freedoms.

The breaking of the law is just a minor symptom of the more dangerous disease.

Christians need to pay attention to what historians believe are true words of Christ,

PAUL MAURICE: Well said throughout both comments. Your views on gay marriage MAKE SENSE. Why could not the gay community see this and come up with their own fancy and unique title to describe a union between them. Instead they forced a change in meaning to a word that had already been WELL defined. This, coupled with the relentless over the top flaunting of gay culture, to the point of belligerence, has put me in a very cynical position. I never had any argument against gay culture but now have lost respect for them as a whole, simply because I believe their approach to cultural assimilation has turned too pushy and grotesque. Just check out the Pride parades. REALLY?? Paul Maurice, for me you are a beacon of light in the gay community. I hope you are the majority and can slow the madness we are headed for. Enough of the sjw type BS, we won’t have the required washrooms or enough letters in the alphabet if this keeps up much longer.

Don’t look for much from the NDP Politburo . Brain dead bunch of socialist swine, I’m thinking Christians would be a ways down the list. Notley fits the long black pointed hat well.

Anybody remember, An eye for an eye, A tooth for a tooth. Well how about a Church for a Mosque.

These savages seem incapable of intelligent reasoning, all they know is violence and hatred. We as Canadians need to make them understand that we also are capable of unreasonable acts.

Very. Unreasonable acts.

Let us not sit back and give them a Medal each time they rape a child.

We homosexuals should be happy with the equality and acceptance we have achieved and get on with contributing in a fair and just and unselfish manner with our democratic society. _____________________________________________________

I can respect that – well stated

Nutley and her gaggle of goons along with the teachers union should be the prime suspects here. If they didn’t directly do it themselves, their are certainly perpetuating hate against an identifiable group, I might add with the complicit agreement of the MSM.

A word about the MSM, the ones whose values don’t include protecting our children, what a joke.

Sheila Gunn Reid said, “They are up against people who feel they have a right to break the law because they disagree with you.”

Isn’t that they way the all of the left/SJWs are heading in all Western cultures?

When the politicians, police and media are all silent on violence done by those people with whom they agree they condone their actions by their silence, encouraging more of the same.

I am so tired of hearing and seeing ‘’LGBTQ", that puerile alphabetical arrangement that is as juvenile as the rainbow flag. Every time I hear or see it, I know that I am going to encounter some hateful and moronic whining by selfish and odious cry babies, and hateful, belligerent “queer culture” ideologues and warriors.
They do nothing for the decency and dignity of (the majority) of homosexuals, who just want to co-exist peacefully and freely with the larger heterosexual society. The “LGBTQ” movement is destructive to homosexual justice and understanding.
Every time I see or hear the “LGBTQ” (soon more letters will be added, no doubt), I don’t know whether to laugh or cry……..probably both.
commented 2016-07-01 16:21:03 -0400
I am a homosexual man. I am a social and fiscal conservative. I am an orthodox Christian. I believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. (I do believe in legally official homosexual unions.)
I loath the whole “LGBTQ” fascist movement.
Some ten or fifteen years ago there was a fledgling group in Toronto call HOPE (Homosexuals Opposed to Pride Extremism). It became defunct after much bashing by “LGBTQ” fascists.
The “LGBTQ” movement, with its hate and bigotry and obscenity, does not speak for me and the majority of homosexuals who are thankful to have now been accepted by modern society.
In fact, homosexuals appear to have become a privileged group now.
We homosexuals should be happy with the equality and acceptance we have achieved and get on with contributing in a fair and just and unselfish manner with our democratic society.

We all know, that this won’t be reported or investigated.
So why even discuss it.
All the average and normal people that are on this site know it (just like I know it).

This is a battle that won’t be won. Even the leftist freaks out there know this won’t be won.

Why won’t it be won?

It won’t be won because, us on the right don’t stand up and cry like little bitches. We are to busy trying to keep our jobs, and raise our families. Plus we are trying to pay for everything the left keeps throwing at us.

Sorry for being negative, but it is the truth. We come on this site just to get more and more pissed off. Then we don’t stand up for any of our beliefs. Yes, when we are confronted in person we stand for our beliefs. But when this type of shit happens, we never join forces and crush the enemy, we vent and that is all.

I am not even religious, and this type of shit pisses me off.

Why does it piss me off you ask? It is because I truly believe in freedom.

If you want to believe in something then you have the right. But that the same time you better let other people believe in what they want. Don’t disrespect their believe. Even if you don’t agree. Have an open discussion and maybe they can change your mind or vice versa.

But that type of shit shouldn’t be tolerated no matter what.

Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me- Christ

John Appleby. You forgot to finish the quotation. Here it is:

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity. (Gospel According to Saint Matthew, Chapter 7). Iniquity is a level of disobedience and a sin. Iniquity is premeditated and it escalates. Iniquity is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Do you know anybody like that?

Let’s see…
If the police don’t investigate this as a hate crime, but they would if the sign was on mosque property, then it stands to reason that it’s okay to persecute Christians.

This will be a very, very cursory investigation – lip service only

Media will paint it as a Christian based crime – if they do indeed even mention it at all.
commented 2016-07-01 14:36:39 -0400
It will be ignored – after all you can only be a bigot if you are not a supporter of the fags and their child molesting ways.

In fact, mention that and you get yelled at that Christian priests have also been child molesters – I usually shut them up by stating they need to be shot on sight as well.

Yup – I am a bigot – and not afraid to say it

Now – all you little fake girls with a dick between your legs – stay out of the little girls bathrooms – or you might not like the consequences.
commented 2016-07-01 14:03:44 -0400
The entire reason Notley and the NDP are in power is because the media does not do their job. Don’t expect the police to spend money they don’t have on an incident that doesn’t meet the narrative, especially when there is probably little evidence to go on.

If the police don’t investigate this as a hate crime, but they would if the sign was on mosque property, then it stands to reason that it’s okay to persecute Christians. In other words, if this is allowed to happen without a proper criminal investigation and charges, then Canada allows the persecution of Christians…in this case, the headline should read: CANADA’S GOVERNMENT SANCTIONS THE PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS.
