Communist China flag raising ceremony at Vancouver City Hall sparks protest

Christopher WilsonRebel Commentator

Vision Vancouver councillor Kerry Jang must apologize immediately and resign after raising the flag of communist China at City Hall last week. That was the message from Chinese Canadians yesterday led by Meena Wong and members of the Taiwanese community.

Last week, Jang attended a flag-raising ceremony where the Chinese flag flew outside city hall, while wearing the communist party’s red scarf. This didn’t sit well with many in our Chinese-Canadian community, especially those such as Meena Wong’s family who faced harsh persecution during the cultural revolution.

Wong was joined by Louis Huang from the Alliance of the Guard of Canadian Values. His group is made up mostly of Chinese-Canadians who are fearful that Canadian values are being shoved aside in favour of closer and cozier relations with the government of China.

A petition shared by Meena Wong and started by Louis Huang and his group with over 1,500 signatures was then hand delivered to the Mayor's office. Of course neither Gregor Robertson nor any official from Vision Vancouver was anywhere to be found but the official submission will force the Mayor to at least respond to it.

It was clear at the protest Canadians of different backgrounds want Kerry Jang to resign.

It’s sad that Canada doesn’t have official relations with Taiwan, but we can thank Pierre Trudeau and his closeness with Mao Zedong for that. In 1970, Trudeau and the Liberals ended official relations with Taiwan instead opting to recognize communist China, a black eye in Canadian history.

As for Kerry Jang? Well he has been elusive and fairly quiet all week since his claims of racism after the controversy originally emerged. He even ducked out the back of council chambers on Tuesday morning when I was at City Hall, despite my requests for an interview.

But I don’t think Jang will resign. This isn’t the first controversial matter he’s gotten into – remember earlier this year when he wanted city hall to force a real estate developer to terminate their agreement with the Trump Organization for their new Trump Hotel and condo tower? Even Mayor Robertson joined him in this call.

Vision Vancouver have fully cemented themselves in the regressive column.

When true progressives like Meena Wong and conservatives like myself and Jason Kenney share the same anger towards the decision to raise the flag and wear communist scarves, it’s clear this is an issue that engenders contempt from across the political spectrum and across our diverse city.

It is not well known, however at the inception of Canada’s flag, the RED Maple Leaf was envisioned to have a hammer and sickle at the centre of it by the Lieberal gov’t of the day. It was not pursued for fear of backlash from the voting public.

To honour the Chinese dictatorship this way is an insult to all who fled its oppression.
Kerry Jang is third generation Chinese. Did his grandparents emigrate to Canada because they loved communist China? I guess Jang considers himself one of the elite now and has no healthy fear of communism anymore. Shameful display.

So they saw, they came, and they conquered! And not one shot was fired!

Raising “World’s Mass Exterminator Mao’s” flag at Vancouver’s City Hall should give all Canadians pause as to where we are headed and who is really controlling the political agenda in our own country… I will gladly spit in Gregor Robertson’s face if our paths should ever cross; being most unlikely…

Vision leader and mayor Gregor Robertson is good friends with Justin Trudeau+
Kerry Jang is a Vision Vancouver councilor+
Justin admires China’s dictatorship = The flag raising is no surprise.
Result: No official sanction will be directed at Kerry Jang.

And the left cannot play the race card.
Some of these people came here to get away from the communist party of China, of course the left does not get that, they think communist rule is some utopia, at least until they wake up and realize they will not be the ones making the rules.

The problem is, most people do not understand the politics and history of politics involved with countries such as China.
They also don’t know anything about Pierre Trudeau’s involvement and activities with communism, China, Cuba, and how he passed this ‘knowledge’ to his ‘children’.
Now, the PM of Canada.
Question: is Communism a big thing in Vancouver these days with the growth of the Asian population out there?
Not everyone Asian living in Vancouver is ‘not’ a China/communist sympathizer

I can understand Chinese Canadians being upset re the Communist Flag.It is a pity but not only Chinese Canadians but all Canadians must realize that under the current Government, the Canadian Flag represents Communism, it only has one color, the Red of Communism, and was chosen by Justin’s Communist Daddy.

I am sure it will revert back to being a Democratic Flag, once Trudeau and his Gang bite the dust.

No Sherri… Canada is back..!!!
And that is a big problem… We must now begin to play the separation card at least far enough to bring our federal administration to heel but it would not offend very many mainstream western Canadians to take our connections are resource bases and put our futures into our own hands… Of all the people that I randomly strike up conversation with and interview them without their knowing they’re being interviewed, very few of them except for the people working here from down east are against Western separation… Most of the easterners here that I have talked to are against separation and worried that they wouldn’t be able to travel freely through Ontario and Quebec to get back to their native provinces if Western Canada separated…
I’m not exactly sure why Ontario and quebec would close their borders to us but if they did that makes them a communist state but however in time that’s where we would all be anyway if we cannot pull that parasitic Laurentian elite entity from feeding freely off the labor and the resources of the west..

As a nation Canada is no different than any other,
“under one flag we are united under many flags we are hopelessly divided”
And that also stands for any other minority group representing less than 1% of the population that wants more recognition than they have earned or they have coming.
There should be no other flags flown on Parliament Hill than the Canadian flag along with the provinces and the territories as well and provincially with the representing flag of the province and the Canadian flag.
All in for western separation..!!
