Remember the flak the Harper Conservatives received from Justin Trudeau five years ago regarding the language used in Canada’s Citizenship Guide? Specifically, that phrase condemning barbarism?
You may recall the guide condemned:
“Those cultural practices that tolerate spousal abuse, honour killings, female genital mutilation, forced marriage or other gender-based violence”
Justin and his ilk had a fit over the use of the word “barbarism” to describe barbarism.
I thought of this when I read a disturbing story out of Edmonton which confirms the Conservatives were bang-on with the language used in the guide.
Aadel Moradi, originally from Iran, was ordered to take anger management courses following what was described as a “nasty” physical attack on his wife’s boss.
What did Mrs. Moradi’s boss do to her that led to a physical assault by Mr. Moradi? It seems he had the temerity to walk up to her at a shopping mall and say, “Hello.”
Watch as I explain how Mr. Moradi responded to the innocuous greeting between co-workers who happened upon each other in a mall in Canada.
Mr. Moradi got off easy after his defence lawyer used the culture clash argument. If it were up to me, I would’ve thrown the book at this barbaric thug.
Welcome to Justin Trudeau’s Canada. How . . . civilized?
