Dear Media Party: Stephen Harper is still "Prime Minister" -- even after the election

Rebel Staff

The Media Party is so eager for Stephen Harper to leave office that they've made a point of calling him "Conservative leader" and not "Prime Minister" now that he's on the campaign trail.

The problem with that is that legally,Harper is still PM, despite what Ottawa Citizen reporter Jason Fekete and his colleagues keep insisting.

It's just more shameless petty partisanship from the Media Party.

The Right Honourable Stephen Harper will remain Prime Minister even after he loses the election, until the Governor General swears in either Mulcair or Trudeau.

Honourable Prime Minister Stephen Harper will win a majority because neither of the two opposition parties leaders have any policies that show they are competent to run the country

When you require the media to hold anyone accountable, you are depending upon the beliefs and morals of the journalists which you may or may not agree with. Jimmy, you may agree with the media attacking Harper, but that is because you hate Harper, but you would not be so pleased if they attacked Justin or Mulcair.

The media is always to remain neutral and just present the facts only.

Jimmy said to Mark, “They are required to attack him if they feel he deserves it and hold him accountable.”

Another load of fecal matter. The media’s role is to present the facts without bias and let the people decide for themselves.

That is all part of the journalistic principles, to remain neutral and present the facts.

On the campaign trail they usually call Tom Mulcair by his name, or “NDP Leader” and not “the leader of her majesty’s loyal opposition” which he remains. Stephen Harper will remain Prime Minister even after he resigns as leader of the Conservatives (presumably the day after the election) and until the Governor General swears in either Trudeau or Mulcair.

JIMMY DA SILVA said " Joan has also indicated, Ezra has realized that heated debated adds to the revenue for The Rebel since drama usually equals traffic. Hence it has nothing to do with free speech – it’s that Ezra realizes that people like me are his bread and butter" , so either JIMMY DA SILVA is Ezra, or JIMMY DA SILVA has a hard-on for Ezra for wanting this site to do so well.

“Obviously, the prime minister is the candidate least interested in opening himself up to the mistakes, and the way he gets around that is by not answering the questions,” Loewen says. “People who don’t like it — and there are a lot of people who don’t — have already made up their minds.”

It has little to do with being a PM and everything to do with a contempt for the democratic system.

Peter,

Sorry to wake you from your slumber – but Harper is probably going to be gone or have much less power than he does now. It’s not going end up good for you.

I love the blatant hypocrisy here. If things were reversed – you would be blaming Trudeau or Mulcair if these same numbers came out and of course Harper would be attacking them. And of course it would be a definite recession.
commented 2015-09-02 12:45:45 -0400
Suzanne,

You should be mad at Harper then – he set the terms as to what is defined as a recession. Blame him – not the media.

Mark,

What about the millions of Canadians that can’t stand Harper and want him gone? The media isn’t required to kiss Harper’s ass or kiss the ass of the people that voted for him. They are required to attack him if they feel he deserves it and hold him accountable.

Mark said: “It is no wonder that Mr. Duffy and Ms. Wallin were dishonest. They were former members of the media party and reflect the true nature and values that the media party stands for. Conniving con artists, all of them.” Good point!

February 2013, Thomas Mulcair called Christians “Uncanadian” because Christians objected and dared to have an opinion on the Gay agenda. The Canadian news hosted a segment on their TV program saying that T Mulcair forgot we have the Charter of Freedom & Rights. T Mulcair would have never supported Israel if it wasen’t for his wife being Jewish. Quebec doesn’t support Isreal either. Any person who dares to vote for anyone other than Steven Harper will regret it. With all the spending the Liberals will do under that Trust Fund child, Trudeau and big tax spender Mulcair, Canada will not be the same. But wait and see the plan that is coming, that will give Steven Harper back in power with His full majority! Then you will see the lefties jealous! Wait and see!! It is a Spiritual plan!

I’ve been disgusted with MSM for 20 years and completely quit watching news until I found Sun news network. I am also disgusted with liberal biased lies and Queer Jimmy lies. We could probably form an offensive plan if we didn’t have this spoke in the wheel. I suggest ALL dismiss any engagement from this pantywaist and focus on making this country strong under Prime Minister Stephen Harper rather than wasting mental energy on a complete waste of skin

I am so grieved with our wicked anti-western socialist media and especially those so called media commentators who fabricated this ‘technical’ recession baloney they claim happened in the 1st quarter of 2015!!! This is just another attack on one of Canada’s finest, most honest, fiscally responsible, Godly leaders in our history!!! The Liberals certainly can’t say that. Or does Canada suffer from short term memory, not remembering the corrupt, financially irresponsible Paul Martin Liberal government that preceded our last 11yrs of stability? God help us if Justin Trudeau or Thomas Mulcair win!!! They’ll destroy Canada with evil decisions and bring swift destruction and judgement on us all !!!

We should keep in mind that the Canadian public does not elect a Prime Minister. We elect Members of Parliament and the leader of the party who has the most members elected is generally asked by the Crown to become Prime Minister. After this election Stephen Harper will continue to be Prime Minister until he resigns from the party leadership the next day and the Governor General asks either Mulcair or Trudeau to be Prime Minister and that person is sworn in.

The media is unpatriotic and dishonest and disrespectful to the millions of Canadians who elected PM Harper. It is no wonder that Mr. Duffy and Ms. Wallin were dishonest. They were former members of the media party and reflect the true nature and values that the media party stands for. Conniving con artists, all of them.

Peter,

Well tell me – what do you think the Stop Harper Canadians and the media will be saying if Harper has to join the unemployment line?

Jimmy, spewing your load of fecal matter again?
commented 2015-09-01 20:57:01 -0400
It will be so nice to watch/read the news and no longer see Harper mentioned as Canada’s Prime Minister – except in the context of the years that Canadians want to forget or the mess that Trudeau or Mulcair have to clean up.

Looks to me like Jason Fekete`s amateur desire to display his amateur qualities of Bias overcoming his professional ability to write as a Journalist to the Canadian public are far more powerful than any of his abilities to be a Professional News writer!
His articles will not be read by me in the future – I am not interested in his Biases`- what about you?

he is an I——T! no respect to a leader! maybe he grew up without parents! even a bad leader like n. korea, you call the leader by its position. this is what we get from being too good as a citizen. maybe he was denied long time ago to join the Conservative Party… no soul!

Or was it that they are not very human. hmmm… either way.

Now Rick, I doubt if you could have met many lefties while working in human resources. They aren’t very resourceful! :)

Jimmy my hero said to me, “try to follow me here.”

But, but I can’t Jimmy! You’re just too good for me!

JAMES SMITH said: “Rick are you suggesting that lefty’s are a little unstable? It does make sense! I can’t think of any other reason that they do not seem to understand the most basic rational concepts”
James, One may interpret as they wish….it is a free country….that said, it does seem to fit the pattern we have all come to recognize! My professional life in the Human Resources field lends to that analysis!

For this story, the original one that is, I had always considered this is common knowledge. Perhaps I was wrong? For the last couple of days, I have been trying to figure out why the lefty trolls, some of whom have not been heard from in a while have suddenly re-appeared causing such animosity on this site! I think I may have a theory. This morning, upon my early departure for work, the skies being clear of cloud cover for the first time in a couple of weeks displayed a Full Moon! Cheers everyone! Rebel On!
