Deep fried whale? Musk-ox burgers? Brian Lilley checks them out

I just paid my annual visit to Taste of the Arctic at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.

And let me tell you: If you've never tried seal meat, you don't know what you're missing.

This "cool" event brings the rich culture of Canada's northern and Arctic regions down to the rest of us. It may very well inspire you to visit the Arctic firsthand.

While I was there, I met up with Jeff Turner of the terrific charity, ProjectNorth.ca, that brings hockey equipment (and the Stanley Cup!) to remote communities:

Oh sure, Brian gets to eat seal and chat up cabinet ministers in some swanky Ottawa venue while poor Marissa is out shivering her socks off in traffic in downtown Tranna. I say enough! I say Justice for Marissa! Swanky surroundings,, cabinet ministers, and all the seal meat she can eat! P.S. No, I am not related to her, nor do I know her personally. I just know something’s wrong when Brian is stuffing his gut on the job while she is trying to fend off pneumonia doing hers. Enough, I say, enough! Justice now!

Brian, maybe the oil in your diet greased your fingers or your mind because deep friend whale sounds more like a Lecter delicacy than an Arctic one.

And the youtube link isn’t a link.

Not complaining. Just giving you a hard time for fun.

Taste of the Arctic is a culinary event that features high-end elite chefs.

The Arctic delicacy you really want is freshly-slaughtered seal eye.
