Don't buy the hype from unions on what an early election call means

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

We've heard a lot over the last few days about the early election call but what we haven't heard a lot about is how the union campaigns against Harper will continue.

While they may not be able to legally advertise to the public any more, that doesn't mean they can't communicate with union members in their workplace. I review some of the ways in which unions will continue to influence the election and discuss what needs to change if Canadians want to make sure future elections are free of heavy special interest influence.

No one killed more Private Sector Union jobs in BC than the NDP in the 90s . . . . NO ONE ! ! !
Today the McWynnty Govt has slaughtered 100s of thousands of Private Sector Union jobs in Ontario . . . and the Ontario Fed pulled out all the stops in the last Provincial Election to support them. Today the Fed is millions in debt, union jobs still disappearing. The next shoe to drop is the Public Sector Pension shortfalls . . .
Socialism kills economies and Union Jobs . . .
As we continue to watch Euro socialist countries moving towards insolvency . . . let’s not join them . . .
Both Justin and ole Tommy know the Way to Greece ! ! !

Peter Netterville – it gives us the advantage because we have more money because we have better fund raising and a more committed membership. There is no justice.

How does a union member allow money to be taken away from his paycheck to pay for ads that he may or may not support? I would be livid.

Rick you are right, however I feel that in todays world with the amount of information available at our finger tips unlike in the 1930’s, people are just as stupid and blind. It is mind boggling to live in a modern country like Canada and see the sheeple march to slaughter.
I keep asking myself why people hate Mr. Harper the way they do and for what reason. Why do they want to get rid of him so badly that they are willing to put extremely dangerous people in power?
The answer is ‘I don’t know, nor do I understand the mind set’.

There has been many comments that Mr. Harper should change the way the Unions spend the money they take from their members.
I agree full heartedly, however I believe that Mr. Harper is going to have to first change the SCOC, who we all know will vote down almost anything Mr. Harper tries to do.
I do not know how he will accomplish this, but there has to be a way to insure that the government make laws not the SCOC. There has to be a way to ensure that the SCOC interprets the Charter and does not add its own interpretations and meanings.
If he does not do this, then even making changes to the CBC, the Senate etc. will be met with resistance from those highly intelligent Judges (said tongue in cheek) at the SCOC.
Lets all hope and pray that Mr. Harper gets re-elected. My knees are getting sore praying for this every day.

“Unfortunately there are thousands of blind sheep like her and this is what is so confusing to me how can intelligent people not see the truth?” Parallels to how the Nazis got elected in Germany in the 1930’s.

Vlad Johnson, thanks for the link to Venezuela. It sure is frightening to think we could be there in a few very short years if the likes of Trudope or Mudclear ever get a grip on government in our Canada.
It certainly is bad enough what the crooked unions are doing but to me it is even worse that we have so many blind, stupid, pig headed people that can not see or hear for themselves and will end up voting either Lieberal or for the dippers.
I very recently had an occasion to discuss politics and the upcoming election with my sister in law from Toronto (that in itself should speak volumes – being from Toronto). Anyway, soon discovered that she was a die hard Lieberal, and no matter what I said about the shiny pony she outright told me I was wrong. She consistently claimed that it was the media that was trying to make this man look bad? I asked her what media she specifically was talking about and her answer was ‘all media’. I soon realized that there was no way on earth to even make her consider thinking any other way. I must add that this lady is an extremely intelligent woman in all other matters, she even negotiates with unions and has a very successful career. But she is a die hard Liberal or Lieberal and will not consider any alternative. She even supports the PIG Wynne.
Unfortunately there are thousands of blind sheep like her and this is what is so confusing to me how can intelligent people not see the truth?

I have a lot of friends and acquaintances who are either union members or who work for the unions themselves. What happens there is incremental. They start out on the job only because of the great pay and benefits, but over time they change their attitudes to protecting their gains without taking into account the ability of the company, or government to pay. on the private side, take Nortel. All of these workers pushed and pushed and as a result lost their pensions. On the public side, look at the teachers. For the sake of a few bucks, they are willing to take their customers (students) hostage. This action would bankrupt a private company and make their jobs obsolete.

This is a great move by Harper! He knows the longer the time frame the more nervous these frauds are. There is more time to scrutinize them, and they don’t like it one bit. Way to go PM Harper, you are a brilliant strategist.

sid ryans election record mirrors his actual abilities.

Public sector unions want to get more money to grow their business. Hence, they always promote more infrastructure, for that purpose, not because it is needed. They pressure government on the vote side, misinform the public as further pressure. They never suggest major cost reduction approaches, such as a revised system that cuts teachers by a third, but always act to maintain the horse and buggy approach and expand manual labour, for example, more teachers per student as the solution and shovels instead of back hoes or spoons to replace shovels. We must limit and then eliminate them, starting at least, with the limits in many EU countries.

I have faith in the hard-working union employee to see through the manipulation of the “vote” by union bosses.

Can you imagine the outpouring of rage from union chiefs should any government try to legislate against partisan union spending? What seems like common sense to most of us would be depicted as a horrible infringement on the rights of unions. So, for now, if you want to pursue a unionized trade in Canada, it means you contribute to the NDP whether you like it or not. That seems fair, right?

That picture at top is a cover scary one indeed. One thing people should know about Sid Ryan, he really hates you but wants your money. So join a union and be happy that your money will go to a good cause. Oh that would be himself and other union leaders. I wonder what kind of lifestyle he has. I doubt he lives in a small middle class home. I heard Ryan on newstalk1010 sometime ago, and a question was put to him, When is the government every right? His answer was “When they agree with me!” That in of itself folks is all you need to know about what Sid Ryan thinks. This is what you will get from the likes Mulcair. More union protection to extort more money from you though dues.

Sid ryan is and IRA pig imported from Ireland. It’s amazing ryan hasn’t been gunned down here in Canada.

Union as*hol* is a good fit for ryan.

This is a test to see how stupid Canadians are – nothing more. Get your troodo or no-cair enn-dee-pee and you get a 25% HST and payroll taxes rocket – to pay for their nationalizing of everything – just like Venezuela.

And here’s how “the socialist utopia” is going in Venezuela this month:

Mike Doherty siad, “The longer election will cost the tax payers more money and brings us closer to an American style election where money buys votes? A disturbing trend.”

How? How does the longer campaign bring us closer to money buying votes? I do not see the connection.
commented 2015-08-05 08:05:48 -0400
As a member of a union, it always upsets me when they try to get me to vote a certain way. I lose my mind when I think of my union dues being used to pay for a political campaign. However, I must admit that I have never agreed with my union with regards to a political party and thus never voted the way they wanted me to. I have to believe that there are other strong minded people who would vote for what they think is right rather than simply vote based off of what their union tells them.

Joan says, “gives us an advantage.”

Not so much gives us an advantage as takes away their advantage and levels the playing field.

An early election gives the Unions lots of time to dream up their silly attack ads. This is all good. It gives Canadians an opportunity to see the Power of the unions, the Vitriol of the unions and why they support the Parties that they do—— and hate the one Party that doesn’t kiss their collective arses.

Sid Ryan and his gang of Thieves are stealing our democracy, I hope when PM harper gets his next majority he stops all union funneling of Money into 3rd party advertising……DONT LET YOUR UNION DICTATE YOUR DEMOCRACY….they Get your Dues and you have no say….dont let them STEAL your VOTE TOO….IT IS A CRIME…..they don;t allow it in EUROPE….Why in Canada ????

I believe the vast majority of trade union members are completely disinterested in their union. They only became union members because union membership is compulsory in order to keep their job. For those union members, trade union propaganda and pressure from above should be totally irrelevant in how they vote. They’ll just ignore it. At least, I certainly hope that’s the case.
commented 2015-08-04 20:39:17 -0400
I agree, Brian. Let’s hope this early election call does exactly what the left claims it does – gives us an advantage.
