EXCLUSIVE: Documents show Jim Prentice hired Liberal Party speechwriters

Ezra LevantRebel Blogger

Access to information documents from the Government of Alberta show that Jim Prentice, Alberta’s last Progressive Conservative premier, hired the Liberal speechwriting firm of Feschuk Reid to write his speeches.

Scott Feschuk was Paul Martin’s campaign speechwriter and Scott Reid was Martin’s chief of staff.

Feschuk Reid signed a contract for $18,000 with the Government of Alberta, but only billed $5,600 against it. The two-month contract ended March 31, 2015, seven days before the writ was dropped.

It’s tempting to be upset that an Alberta premier hired Ottawa insiders, but given the disastrous results for Prentice, millions of Albertans have felt an unfamiliar feeling: gratitude toward the Liberal Party of Canada.

It is also the only recorded case in history of an Ottawa Liberal billing less than a contract allowed them to be paid.

It’s shocking to say the least, that the socialists and their baby chicks are now in charge. I live in Alberta and voted for the Wild Rose, and I’m really glad that I did. Without an opposition party, the socialists wouldn’t have anyone keeping them in check. I work in the O&G industry, and there are many communist jokes being thrown around, not the least are those about being comrades, and that we will soon be living on food stamps. My take on the election results, is that both parties were held accountable, for the actions of a few. Not to mention the ignorance of what each party stands for. There will be a huge lesson for all those who elected these socialists, and those of us who voted on the right, will be held hostage for the ride. Let’s just pray that PM Harper wins a federal majority this fall, or it won’t bode well for Canada. We need PM Harper’s direction now, more than ever.

“To hire him as your speechwriter takes a very rare and special kind of stupidity.”

Prentice certainly is a rare and special kind of stupid. That is for sure. Glad he’s gone, but I hate the replacement party. I still can’t believe that conservative Alberta has the most left wing “almost communist” party available into office. The shock still has not worn off.

Sorry to the rest of Canada, wee won’t be able to give you your allowance any more. The NDP will make sure we have no more economy.

Sigh! Depression! Saskatchewan is looking like a real nice place to live right now.

I know your comment about Albertan gratitude to liberals was ‘tongue in cheek’ but, please, watch your journalistic tongue, Ezra. Seriously. Haven’t we been beaten up enough by these communists without bringing liberals into it? Don’t make me wonder if the little green eyed eastern monster is raising his ugly head.

Wouldn’t be nice for Justin to use this service!

Wasn’t Scott Reid the genius who made the famous “beer and popcorn” comment? To hire him as your speechwriter takes a very rare and special kind of stupidity.

We should all send letters of gratitude to Feschuk Reid. Keep it coming Mr. Levant, thanks for your dedication.

Yeah! There’s an understatement.
