“There will be no oil pipelines built in the next four years” — Here’s why

Rebel Staff

The only greater comedy than Liberals pretending to care about Alberta oil and gas workers is seeing Rachel Notley and her gang of lifelong anti-oil activists pretending they care about the industry.

They put on “I love oilsands” t-shirts and expect people to forget every anti-oil thing they’ve ever said and done — all while they ratchet up oil and gas and carbon taxes.

No wonder the Trudeau Liberals just laughed at them. In a way, you’ve got to respect the Liberals’ honesty — they’re too principled to wear such a shirt. They don’t love the oilsands; they hate it. And they’re not afraid to admit it.

There will be no oil pipelines built in the next four years — mark my words...

Sun columnist Lorrie Goldstein joins me to talk about the future of Canada's pipelines. Does he agree with me that no new pipelines will be built as long as Trudeau is prime minister?

Next, Paige MacPherson of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation reports on Alberta's never-ending financial woes.
Finally: Your tweets, emails and other messages to me -- good and bad!

Deb Duffy asked, "How bad do things have to get before the Liberals and NDP wake up and do something smart for a change? "

Problem is that they think what they are doing is smart.

Notley posing as an oil lover is like a snake in the grass. It is not even possible that she has “turned over a new leaf”. She is a liar, a deceiver, a destroyer, and we are to believe she has changed? Wow, she must think we are idiots.

It’s hard to tell which is the bigger joke – the federal Liberals or Alberta NDP. Butts is a bought & paid for eco-fraud & Trudeau is his puppet. We’re so screwed for the next few years.

Daryl you are on to something. Gerry Butts, senior political advisor to boy Trudeau was the principal author of former Ontario premier Dalton McGuinty’s bankrupting green energy policies, the key architect for the Green Energy Act in Ontario. He is who you can blame for wind turbines in Ontario.
He advised McGinty on what he needed to do to get elected. Trudeau is awfully chummy with Wynne, and I wouldn’t be surprised if Butts had a hand in helping her get re-elected also. Its a bad scenario for a resource rich country. Darn straight Butts hates Alberta. As far as he is concerned the sooner Alberta goes tits up the better and no mercy. There will be no pipelines. There will be no Alberta until the NDP are out and the Libs are out of Ottawa.

Because the added carbon tax is going to be applied to the price of diesel fuel, this is essentially already a PST because everything anybody buys relies on diesel. A PST on top of that would be a tax on the tax which is already on top of the taxes we’ve always had to pay on diesel. Such a scenario would create a massive epidemic of wet dreams in NDPers for years.

I agree, its pretty obvious the people that have nothing but disdain for us in Alberta are not going to help us get our product to tide water. They got us where they want us, lots of oil nut to much government to get it to market. years thing will change but until Ndp are gone then libs gone we may have prosperity again. until then batten down and survive.

Regarding pipelines and functional economies, I’ve heard it said that as a teenager ages and the longer they are out on their own, the smarter their parents become. The NDP (provincial) and Liberal (federal) parties are now starting to realise that maybe the conservatives that they were running against weren’t so dumb after all.

Venezuela shows us how even the richest countries in terms of natural resources can become a basket case if central planning takes away the ability to effectively develop those resources.

NDP SUCKS So Joe Ceci was a social worker and is now Minister of Finance. Isn’t that just great. More like Minister of Redistribution of Wealth. The NDP are spending so much that they will be forced to open a new revenue stream so his word is probably worthless.

Four days ago I sent an e-mail to Ceci and told him I didn’t want a PST in Alberta. I said some other stuff too such as you are killing Alberta with taxes. Anyway, Ceci has produced a letter and it was e-mailed to me today. He has stated that Alberta campaigned on not creating a PST and that the government will honour that commitment.

I will keep this e-mail and if the government starts this PST talk again I will forward the letter back to Ceci with my usual well behaved comments. I also sent this on to Eitan and Ezra should they wish to wave this letter on the show.

Notley has no scruples, now she’s masquerading as an oil lover, a born again oil lover. Disaster waits in the shadows as Notley continues to speed down the dead end road. I commented a while back that no pipelines would be built during the four yrs that Justin tries to pass himself off as Prime Minister & your reasons make it even more convincing.
If Notley brings a sales tax on top of all the other taxes she has implemented,I think she will have a big fight on her hands.

Another new tax for Albertans, where does Notley think this money is going to come from? Alberta is losing more and more real jobs every day. More government jobs equals more damage to the economy and more debt, you can’t get blood from a stone! It is simple economics! As an Albertan it is embarrassing enough to have a fool like Trudeau in power, put in place by urban Canada and the Maritimes! But this NDP government in Alberta which again put in power by cities is nothing but disaster after disaster! There are a lot of low information voters in Canada and zero leadership!

How bad do things have to get before the Liberals and NDP wake up and do something smart for a change? Every week it seems worse, very scary times.

but stated “the Great Bear rainforest is no place for a … crude pipeline” — Quote from mr. selfie today…He’s so stupid he doesn’t realize that the pipeline ROW doesn’t go anywhere near that area…

and btw..there’s no such thing as “the Great Bear Sea”…Butts is just a stupid as his boss…

Simply,
When did Butts become the ruler of Canada?
Justin would not know the difference between weed and a bungee cord.
You can’t turn off you food supply, without starving to death.
So the Liberals with the help of the NDP are transferring the wealth out of Alberta, building a debt at 0%. What is going to happen is that they are all going to leave in 4 years, the interest rate at 10% and Alberta will be paying off this debt for the next 80 years. You say what wealth? And I am telling you, she is borrowing against your future and she is stuffing her pockets, and giving the unions lots of jobs and money. So slit your throat and suck it up Alberta. You let her loose. Her she is. Deal with her. Pricks every one.
Mulroney is a crook and Justin told Canada before the Election that only Quebec is important.
What do you expect?
Now a PST for Alberta? Time to Hang em High.
Why do I feel safer here?
Thanks Ezra….Good show.

Pipelines are Dead . . . Balanced Budgets are Dead . . . and the Libranoes are sending the bill to the Under 45s that voted for the Trust Fund loon and his band of krazies ! ! !
Alternative Economy = Greece ! ! !
Butts “I don’t THINK” . . . most honest thing he has ever said !

Trudeau Sr. gave Alberta the finger years ago . Trudeau Jr. will do the same except he doesn’t have the spine or the integrity his ol’ man had – he’ll do it with his hand behind his back while he’s smiling at you.
But what goes around , comes around. If there’s no pipeline by the time for a new election , Kent Hehr better learn to walk because there won’t be a single Liberal in this province even in Edmonton. PM Selfie will have even pissed them off .

Hello Ezra, This is too you personally. I see you had to force yourself to smile after all the interviews today…. Trust me you are not alone on this, any person that has any sort of IQ is finding it harder and harder to smile in this country anymore.

Please Ezra, don’t give up. We need you and trust me when I say, your following is getting larger and larger. Even some of the crazy lefties are starting to come around.

If Notley also brings in a sales tax along with the carbon tax Albertans, maybe even the more reasonable NDP voters, will be very, very angry.
commented 2016-04-26 20:30:36 -0400
Notley & her cabinet do not want the oil and gas sector to thrive and they are not even smart enough to do as Lori suggested, use the revenue from the oil and gas to pay for their green energy plan.
commented 2016-04-26 20:23:53 -0400
I like Lori’s optimism (esp. in comparison to Ezra’s skepticism), but I tend to share Ezra’s skepticism.
