Like father, like son: Justin Trudeau’s carbon tax a repeat of National Energy Program — but worse

Rebel Staff

Pierre Trudeau despised the west, especially Alberta and its oilmen. His immoral National Energy Program nationalized private companies and transferred wealth from Alberta to Ontario and Quebec. But there was a logic to it: take Alberta’s oil at below world prices and give it to the east.

Yesterday, Justin Trudeau copied his dad, announcing a new carbon tax. It’s literally a tax on air.

Australia repealed its carbon tax in 2014. The U.S. doesn’t have one. This is junk science. It’s junk economics.

We’re going to fight back here at the Rebel, in our own small way. But this will take a massive, national effort — by the official opposition, by the premiers, by other media, by lawyers and judges.

If you want to fight back, go to our special website, StopTheCarbonTax.com.

NEXT: To talk more about the effect Trudeau's carbon tax will have on Canada, and the west in particular, is Paige MacPherson, the Alberta Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.

THEN: Journalist (and Democrat!) Mickey Kaus comes on to try to forecast the outcome of tonight's Vice Presidential Debate. (He also has an intriguing analysis of the first Presidential Debate.)

FINALLY: Your messages to me!

Let’s be truthful, this is not a carbon tax, it is a living tax. It is a tax on every living Canadian. A tax on fuel, food clothing, heating and everything else it takes to live comfortably in Canada. Carbon Tax is an easier way for Justin to tell us we will be taxed for living.

Martin Rayner we love you. Stick around and find out how Canadians really feel about your beloved Trudeau.

By the way Ezra, I hope you had a good Rosh Hashanah.

Ezra, thanks for commenting on my letter last night about the ads that the Christian Heritage Party took out. Just to let you know, you got my name wrong (I’m Mark, not Mike), but still, thanks.

Martin Rayner go back to the CBC. You wont find anything to do with Ezra on there. Asshole.

What a mendacious load of utter bullshit. This is just another one of Ezra’s specious fund-raising scams.

- Below 150 ppm CO2, plants die. Greenhouses are kept at about 1000 ppm. The Earth has had CO2 levels above 7000 ppm without any help from humans. We live in a time of low CO2. Their carbon taxing scam will allow them to grant exemptions to Liberal friendly industries & line their pockets.

- Expect the unexpected from Trump. I don’t thing he’s going to go into round 2 unprepared, he’s playing rope-a-dope.

- I couldn’t disagree more with your assessment of how the US elections are turning out. The Democrats are in full panic mode. Just look at the desperation they’re showing by the petty ways they’re going after Trump lately. They’ve been pulling every dirty trick in the book & it’s not changing anything. They’ve been weighting the polls in favor of Hillary (even the opinion polls from the first debate) & even so can only come up with a tie or Trump slightly out in front. They have to be close to steal the election & even then it might not work (as with Bush vs Gore.)

Time for the West to “Wise UP” . . . and Leave !
The East is DONE . . . decades of leftist regimes have sealed their fate !
commented 2016-10-05 11:36:29 -0400
It’s time. Time for the West to go on its own and free ourselves of this insanity. FREE THE WEST!

as a Albertan I would not only vote to leave Canada but promote separation. get rid of notley and trudeau and we will make it. by the way, what does these 2 pieces of shit have to do to be charged with treason and shot!
commented 2016-10-05 10:51:29 -0400
How and when is the West going to rise up and SEPARATE! ?!?
commented 2016-10-05 10:25:48 -0400
We must understand that Baby Doc Trudeau must honour his election promises… other than bringing in 50,000 unvetted “refugees”. The rest of his promises, well, not so much.

Didn’t he promise no carbon (meaning CO2) tax. No cap and trade? My, how power corrupts at such an early stage of governance.

When the Liberals suggested a carbon tax they were defeated. Only three more years before we toss Junior, After all, it will be a new dynamic between space and time and getting all science-fictiony on him.

Gerald Bull’s hand puppet speaks again. Art is imitating life as Trudeau recreates Peter Seller’so role as Chauncey, the idiot gardener in the movie “Being There”, and the media hangs on his every word as if he is a savant.

Wynne, Notley and now Trudeau are writing their political epitaphs. In particular, the people of Ontario are showing signs they are finally done with radical enviromentalism after 15 years of a failed, corrupt and wasteful green energy plan.

By the time the $50 a ton is imposed, the average family will be supporting the Carbon Tax to the tune of $2500 each. The majority of Canadians are getting what they deserve. But he does have nice hair.

I think Justin is possessed and has an unhealthy obsession with his father( both Justin and his remaining brother). Butts and the rest of the commies are riding the Trudeau name. I think they are passionate and determined to see this through. It is ‘evil’, what Justin’s liberals are doing. There is no other word for it.

Marty. ….I agree….and I despise his supporters even more. Talk about low information, stupid, useless, fucks they all are.
commented 2016-10-05 01:28:28 -0400
Man oh man oh man, this traitor dictator scum called Trudeau with the big nose has to go. Somehow, someway we have to annihilate this scum bag before it is too late.
BTW I am from BC, and I would vote to separate in a heartbeat. I will also do everything I can to help the effort.
God how I hate that fucking asshole Trudeau! Can’t stand looking at him, he is such a douche bag.

Justin is such a puke.

John Williams- In the Agenda 21 recommendations there is an initiative tp tax wood heating systems out of existence – They’re going for broke. The Climate hysterian, it’s junk science and green taxing systems are not about environment or climate – it’s about a consolidation of wealth, power and resource control in the hands of the 1%

Your children will never live free if we fail to defeat this globalist coup over our sovereignty.

I’ll be burning logs in my fireplace to heat my house to offset the effects of Justins carbon tax. Taxpayers Federation predicts this carbon tax will cost 2600 a person per year. Eat my fireplace smoke Justin. That’s on you. Shame on your carbon tax.

This is going to sound racist and I’m going to take a lot of flack for it but here we go… The reason you won’t get BC on board for a western separation from the insanity east of the Manitoba border is that most of the population exists in the lower mainland… Most of the population is Sikh or Chinese with a high population of recent newcomers in both ethnic majority’s and they are not about to change anything that will upset their balance of power.
They vote in blocks (told who to vote for by their community leaders) for what’s good for them personally while excluding the country and the ancestors of the pioneers and settlers that carved this great nation out of a wilderness.
Through reckless immigration policies that our governments and their administrations have heaped upon us we have effectively lost control of our country and never even saw it coming and to the small minority who did they were labeled racist..
However… We do not need BC to make a go of it as we have many options south of the border for access to ports and truck and rail will do the rest.

Vote to separate Alberta?

Manitoba, Sask and Alberta maybe, but BC will never vote to separate because the last vestiges of hippiedom on earth live in the lower mainland or in Bancouver or Bancouver Island. They eat up this Climate Change crap so they will never agree to separate. And therein lies the porblem: no access to a ice free port.

We are doomed!

Bill, maybe Leviticus and some other Albertans will get the Via Albertica underway. Or as Ernest Manning used to say, “If the people haven’t suffered enough it’s their God-given right to suffer some more”.

It’s really too bad God didn’t have these geniuses at His disposal when He was involved in the work of creation. Then they could have advised Him to forgo the carbon based fuels that have made life so difficult for us. But He knows better now, so don’t worry. The demigods have spoken on His behalf.

Jim Schulz, “Ask not what I can do for my country. Ask what my country can give me”.

Sean, no one is interested in your paid trolling. Be a good little Liberal and go play in the middle of the 401 during rush hour, people may find that more interesting than your constant propaganda.
commented 2016-10-04 23:37:36 -0400
Sean, why not get on the fat track and just have the UN rule us? Forget the middle men?
commented 2016-10-04 23:17:08 -0400
If the provinces disagree too much, the Feds should abolish the bitching provincial governments and directly administer them they way that Britain administered Newfoundland in the 1930s: a Commission of Government, with a Commissioner-General (as chief executive) and a few Commissioners to act as his or her executive and legislative branch of government.
commented 2016-10-04 23:14:14 -0400
Oh well. The Liberals will get most of the 32 Atlantic seats, and probably 70 of the 78 from Quebec. They’ll succeed in about 60 of the 121 from Ontario, and they’ll hold on to what they have from Winnipeg and Vancouver and the three territories. That’s all they need for a majority, and there is nothing that can be done about it.

Too bad, so sad. Life goes on, huh?
