See my $1,123 Ontario electricity bill? Next year, that will be Alberta’s new normal

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Tonight, I’ll show you my electricity bill from Toronto Hydro. They bill every two months.

The latest is $1,123.82. That’s up from the last bill, which was $1,082.13.

Am I doing anything insane? Am I running a lighthouse or a marijuana grow-op? No, just an ordinary family home.

So why are we paying $1,123,82 for electricity?

First, because Dalton McGuinty and Kathleen Wynne signed sweetheart deals with the crony capitalists who own solar panels and wind turbines, to pay them up to 80 cents per kilowatt hour.

Ontario makes families pay for that expensive power first, then sells cheap power to Americans at a deep discount.

Second, because Liberals want to make electricity so expensive that we are forced to use less. Remember Dion's "Green Shift"? That’s the whole point of Trudeau’s national carbon tax: to change our "evil" behaviour (like heating our homes.)

And that’s precisely what Alberta’s NDP has in mind, too...

NEXT: Joining me to discuss this further is energy advisor and expert Tom Adams.

THEN: Undercover video activist and the head of Project Veritas, James O’Keefe, comes on to talk about his latest blockbuster expose: catching the New York City Democratic Election Commissioner on tape admitting, “They bus people around to vote."

FINALLY: Your messages to me!

I have a house with Geothermal heating and cooling. This is supposedely a “green” choice. Well I use between 600-1400KWH of electricity per month. Before this house we used 300-400KWH per month for 100 less square feet. It already costs more to heat and cool our house. If electrical prices go up that much I will have to get rid of our “green” option and go to a natural gas furnace.

Thanks for helping the environment (sarcasm intended)

Gerald Butts, while he was working for McGuinty also helped to impose the 5 cent tax on plastic bags in Ontario. He also made sure that half the money collected went to the WWF of which he was the president. How many times dos this zealot have to be exposed?

- Green energy = unreliable, unstable, highly expensive & not in any way green. Politicians need to be going to jail over this. They won’t, of course, because they’re politicians.

- Everywhere where the type of “green” energy Ontario adopted has gone through the same sort of thing. Spain was once the darling of “green” energy & it pretty much bankrupted them. Germany (the one time champion of green energy) has had to abandon this scam.

- I expected the Democrats to pull every dirty trick in the book in this election. It largely blew up in their faces so far. The mainstream media has undermined what little credibility they had. This is why alternative media is so important – it’s where real journalism is being done.

Ezra, what in the name of God are using your electricity FOR?

Most of you here are quoting electric power bills from $75 up to many hundreds of dollars. None of that makes sense unless you quote your usage in KWH. It’s like bragging of going 600 km on a tank of gas – meaningless unless you quote the tank size. I can get 750 km from one tank of gas, but my Prius gives me an average of 60 mpg. It’s all relative to actual use in units, folks. By the way, no normal 3-bedroom home should use more than 400 kwh per month. If so, you are an energy hog, believe me.

For 14 years living in Ontario I paid about $120 per month for electricity for a small home, while using 350 kw a month. Rate was around 11 cents per kwh. A slightly high rate, yes. It’s somewhat better here in south central Alberta, where I pay a bit less for same power, about 4 to 5 cents per kwh. However, there are those stiff transmission fees of about $60-70 per month, and also transmission charge ($10), rate riders (only 50 cents) and local access fees (distribution to the village for $5). Administration fees are $10. It all adds up. For your true rate, divide your total bill by the kilowatt usage (ie, 280 kwh by $100 shows a cost of 35 cents per kwh. That’s the actual real cost. Electric utility companies are required by law to show the breakdown of all costs. My electricity only costs about $23 to generate; everything else is fees. Wind power is a joke and will never ever pay it’s way. I moved because I was sick of Ontario ripping me off at every turn. But other provinces are catching on to the utility cash cow. Carbon taxes (the most evil of all taxes) will get you, no matter how far off the grid you try to live. They will simply punish you for everyone’s ills. These are evil times.

This strike will affect a lot of departments , including EI , i can just see the idiots who voted for this clown when they cannot get EI or some other money from the government. I hope the strike drags on and on.

An update on the PSAC looming strike, they are going for a likely strike vote real soon. Affecting 70,000 workers at least. When Justin got in he sent out a greeting email saying he would leave their sick days alone, well guess what , they want to cut down the sick days and are sticking to their .5% wage increase, yes half a percent. Another lie from Justin about the sick days and a joke of an offer for the workers. I bet PSAC is so glad they helped get him elected LMAO!

I sympathies but we are already close to that at about $400 per month. I guess next year it will be more. Maybe I’ll drill a well and make my own power except the government has that covered too.

People seem numb to these facts and shrug with a “what can we do?” as it is just the cost of being green.
By the way our conservative party built hundred, if not thousands, of wind turbines through our province. I even asked our Wildrose member what he thought about them and I was flabbergasted that he thought they were a good idea. As you note Ezra, it has become part of our Canadian Values to be leaders in the fight against global warming, damn the facts or the cost.

Mine is around $65 a month, we have no kids though, so that makes a small difference , but this bill and what Bravo pays is sheer insanity.

Kelvin Grabowsky i doubt many soldiers in either country would follow through with the orders of a left wing dictator , the left does not realize this though.

John Williams—you are lucky as I have no slider bar or pause button on Ezra show only.
Thanks to a fellow Rebel, I can get through until Ethan fixes the problem.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for bringing back the slider bar, the pause button and the full screen button. I can finally watch the whole episode! As to the episode its brutal what Ontario charges for heat in the winter. I thought we had it bad in BC! I’ve written a shame on you letter to Justin and his staff came back with a “but carbon pollution”! I responded that Carbon and Co2 is not a pollution but they can’t understand it isn’t. There is no winning with these environmental zealots who do not understand the science and continue to earn their huge pensions with taxes.

Kieth Barns, those are some of my same thoughts, but as we see in the US and Canada both governments are on the same crash course. The only stumbling block for both nations is gun ownership, we have the largest standing armies on the planet! There’s no government in their right mind that would try to make that kind of move without a gun ban or seizure plan.

Plus as we see in the US , Trump has had the endorsement of many police and military, I believe that the same would be here.(I can assume the military and most veterans anyway).

It would appear that this Country is being run by a bunch of Hoodlums, both Federal and Provincial, all these Marxist Socialist. Want to do is kill of the Civilization that was once common here, to make room for their Muslim friends.

Is it possible that they are trying to manipulate the population into a frenzy, capable of an act of Revolution. This would give them the right to shoot us all, without trial.
Just think no more trouble makers, just a lot of sheep, waiting for the Muslim knife.

Sounds crazy, I know but there are a lot of people around, in Politics who are capable of doing evil, for the sake of money, JT is a good example. Saudi money speaks loudly.

To that 39% who voted for JT, I would say Thank You, You have just taken my Grand Children’s and my Great Grand Children’s futures away.

Please also watch out for your government to quietly outlaw wood burning stoves like Ontari-owe and Quebexico has done. Thereby forcing electric heating at quadruple the cost!

What this should motivate people to do is move away and depopulate Ontario.

Robert – that’s what they want you to do!

So bloody typical of socialists! They talk about “unintended consequences”. In fact they lack the ability to think things through. I can assure that at no time did it cross their minds that their policy would choke on it’s own “success”. That if ppl cut back on power, they’d have to charge more than they thought, which would cause ppl to cut back more, which will cause them to charge more, which will . . . . . .

Ezra says; "if you grant the Lefty’s . . . ". We allowed the Lefty’s in when McCarthyism ended. And don’t think that’s not a big deal. Ad the Dems Convention, a CNN political commentator brought up the end of McCarthyism and what – the them – was the greatest thing and allowed them to get to where they are today. This was to massive cheering from the crowd. So what the Left has told is, that after the coming civil war and we take back the country, McCarthyism will have to be permanent. The Left have no desire to “get along” or “compromise” or show restraint. They’re like the radical feminists, it’s all about “taking over”.

My first power bill on our farm was 95 bucks a month when we bought it in 2002

Today it is nearly 700 bucks a month

No big additions or changes.

Not only have rates gone up, but so have delivery fees.
