Facebook's infamous “trending” section, which was accused of censoring conservative news, may finally start to appear less biased.
The 15-18 employees who managed the section have been fired after being exposed as highly liberal. Back in May, a big controversy erupted after reports that “news curators” were burying Conservative stories.
Cuckerberg: Hypocrite Facebook CEO accuses employees of 'silencing speech' while he censors anti-refugee posts among other things
Facebook denied the allegations saying “diversity in all its forms — including ideological — is one of our core values, and we believe that adding voices to the conversation creates a richer and more vibrant community.”
Breitbart and Daily Caller did a lot of research into Facebook's “news curators”, which you can read HERE and HERE.
Such individuals include Benjamin Wagner, who in 2007 wrote in a blog stating, “The Bush Administration is the most dangerously inept group of politicians in the history of this country.”
In the same post he wrote in reference to a speech Bush gave. He quoted the President saying “It is the decisive ideological struggle of our time.” Wagner commented “Is it? Christianity versus, what? Dark skinned, tan guys in turbans? Guys with oil? Guys who talk funny?”

In another instance, managing editor Allie Townsend tweeted “RT @georgelazenby: Violence and murder designed to incite fear and affect political change will never be called terrorism if you’re white.”
She also appears to be in favour of censorship, tweeting, “RT @craigwduff If defamatory speech is allowed just because it is on the Internet, it cheapens the value of journalism.”
Liberal bias? Facebook's trending section included NO MENTION of Trudeau elbowing female NDP MP until we called them out
Another news curator, Rula Al-Nasrawi tweeeted “Derp derp derp radical islam derp derp Kim Davis derp derp derp illegal immigrants derp derp this is America derrrrrrrrrrp #GOPDebate.”
Remember, Facebook employees have suggested they purposely manipulate the website to prevent a Donald Trump presidency.
While Facebook's trending section may be a bit fresh, censorship is still a problem with Facebook. Pro-Republican pages have been removed at an astounding rate over the most mundane posts.
Hopefully in the future, with enough action, Facebook can rid itself of more biases.
