Feds to profit with drywall tariff at expense of hard-hit Fort Mac residents?

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Commentator

The Liberals are imposing an import tariff on drywall destined for Western Canada.

A Canadian drywall company called CertainTeed Gypsum Canada launched a complaint with the Canadian Border Services Agency regarding cheaper American drywall being what the company called “dumped “ into Western Canada and hurting their market share.

To stop this dumping, the Liberals are imposing a tax on American drywall anywhere west of the Manitoba-Ontario border.

And Liberals being Liberals, they just did it without thinking. They especially didn't think about what protecting this one company from American competition would mean for Alberta and the rebuild in Fort McMurray.

Fort Mac, already hit by the drop in oil prices, terrible NDP policies, the massive wildfire and then flooding are having what amounts to an exorbitant liberal tax placed on every piece of drywall headed into their community. Drywall prices in the West will increase by 276%.

It’s despicable. It’s anti-Western.

Even worse, this whole tariff goes right into the government coffers with the Liberal’s making money on the devastation and tragedy Fort McMurray families have lived through this last year. It’s sickening. It’s disaster profiteering of the worst sort, like stores who jack up the price of bottled water and candles when a hurricane hits.

Don’t kid yourself, there is a subset of the Liberal party who think those uppity westerners need to be put back in their place after a decade of being in charge. This is just the sort of humility they think westerners deserve, having to beg to be able to rebuild their lives.

If the Liberals want to protect Canadian companies, and stop other countries from dumping their products into Canada, they can start by putting a tariff on every barrel of Venezuelan oil coming into Canada.

Hundreds of Fort McMurrayites are still out of their homes and yet those out of touch Liberals decided now was the time to add a tariff that will increase the cost of this one very necessary construction supply by 276%. And they’re going to profit from it.

This all begs the question: Do these eastern-centric Alberta hating Liberals even want Fort Mac to rebuild?

Coin just dropped….remember when the feds said they would match donated funds dollar for dollar for Fort McMurray relief…..well this is how they claw it back. The left giveth and the left taketh away.

Baby Doc Trudeau learned how and what to believe and how to treat Western Canada at the knee of Papa Doc Trudeau. So stupidity like this is a give. Look at the 39% of Canadians who were foolish enough to swallow his version of Camelot, which was no more than hollow words in the wind.

The Liberals may show anti-West behaviour, but the people in the East don’t think like this.

But what is even worse is that the de facto PM is Gerald Butts, who wants all oil and coal production stopped, Same for natural gas. He pulls the strings and low educated slow minded Trudeau mouths what he is told. Also Butts wants Canada to more or less become Luddites, reduce our presence on the land, depopulate and use the UN’s Agenda 21 which maps out how to do this. A one world government. We are so screwed,

Baby Trudeau is possibly and probably the least educated and accomplished PM compared to those who came before. Yes, the press proudly states that he went to McGill, but they don’t bother mentioning that he dropped out of a cream puff program. Then he went to U of Montreal, and again dropped out. Too difficult a program? I know that when the children of prominent politicians attend that special considerations are usually given. Yet he still couldn’t manage to obtain a degree. Ergo, he has high school.

So what does one expect of a low information, not too bright PM with an anti-oil puppet master and a cabinet constantly looking foolish.

Three more years of this, folks. Then thirty to recover, unless the Liberals steamroll through their election “reforms”. Then we might as call ourself mini EU.

There certainly is more than enough motivation to separate on the part of those of us who value freedom from government domestic and foreign. We are proud of our natural resources and are sick and tired of being used and abused by the Laurention elites. Canada is going down the tubes under Justin’s government, and we don’t want to be sucked down with them. In order to save any remnants of the “strong and free”, separation may be the only solution. We need a referendum, like Quebec had.

The fag boy hates Alberta almost as much as they hate him.

Separation from upper and lower Canada is the only way to end the endless dictatorships that come from the east only to remind us of our colony status membership to
“Club Canada”..!!!

As Canadian Mongrel alluded to, we need to be asking why can’t CertainTeed Gypsum Canada produce gypsum at a competitive price?
It wouldn’t have anything to do with government tax and regulation or unions would it?

Alberta independence is the only way forward for Alberta.

Well there is the target practice "target of the year " award. Print up a gross of those two buffoons. Gun ranges, archery ranges, sling shot ranges, hatchet throwing ranges etc etc. Fun and stress relief at the same time.

We could enjoy this pass time after …. S E P A R A T I O N

DJBT and the rest

Great work Sheila… I would recommend that if you want some lobbying weight behind you on this one make sure that the insurance underwriters get wind of it. Nice dig about the Venezualan oil….Venezuala BTW is not part of NAFTA….not yet anyway.

Ft. Mac was always an expensive place to live. All those jobs in Calgary were high paying jobs. At what point does the bank of Canada say No?

I think Trudeau wants to divide this Country, so he can create a lot of Muslim controlled dictatorships.

Divided we fall.

Justin needs to sign in for a Head Check.

Looks like the Liberals are helping to draw the borders for the Western Republic of Canada. . . . Again.

Hey Rebel, can you make and sell blue hats with gold lettering saying “Make Alberta Great Again”?

So, ask who owns CetainTeed Gypsum, and find out how they are connected to the Liberals. IE:contributions

One point would be as to why American gyprock is less expensive than that Eastern Canadian company. Maybe the Canadian company should compete?

Second, Baby Doc already has had his kodac moment in Ft MacMurray, so it is no longer of importance for him.

Third, the Liberal Party of Corruption has to pay for moving expenses somehow.

Fourth, where is the Alberta Non-Democratic Party in this. As government, we’ll say that to be polite, should they not be supporting the area MP? The invisibility of the energy minister is infecting the entire cabinet.

" imposing a tax on American drywall anywhere west of the Manitoba-Ontario border."

Sounds like the insult of the fed wheat marking cartel – only grain producers west of the Ont. boarder had restricted trade. Why are we still a part of this grasping Larentian oligarchy called Kandar.

I prefer they use Canadian suppliers, but under the circumstances they need a break to get things done as efficiently as possible. If American companies, who are our friends and allies, can contribute to that, then allow them the opportunity. There are many more disasters that occur in the US that brings opportunity to Canada. In such circumstances, we should strive to reduce the cost and not make disaster a political opportunity.

Why do the libs always make separate rules for east and west like this and the CWB then preach equality. And of course the media party and brain dead left wing sheep call conservatives divisive. And especially after Justin’s ignorant “you are in Ottawa” crap.

Many years ago (1973-1986), I worked in the arctic for Panarctic Oils Ltd. On one occasion Trudeau (Big Potato Head) came for a visit. Management told us that if we saw Trudeau on the edge of an ice flow that we were not allowed to push him in. However, if he fell in we were not required to pull him out of the water.

I later wished that I had not listened and that I had pushed. Maybe, had I done so, Little Potato Head would not have been so badly brainwashed.

This is unbelievable!!!
This is pathetic planned bullying
A federal government is supposed to run the country in good governance for the whole of the country
You eastern bastards that are part of this childish game -— your time is coming !!!!

So first we should boycott CertainTeed Gypsum Canada and are you ever surprised when ole rache and turdumbass act like dinks…

Good thing SmallPotatoes TruD’Oh is off to the funeral today – if present, he would have reminded the Honorable Member Opposite that he was in Ottawa now, like he did to Kenney when Kenney tried to stand up for the people of Alberta who elected him to represent them in Ottawa.

Like I have said many times a P.M.from never good for western Canada but this tadpole tops the list.
