Liberals' first Question Period reveals party priorities -- Only one party will hold government’s feet to fire

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

Monday marked the first Question Period following the October 19th election.

The first question period of each sitting reveals the priority for each party in the House of Commons and this one was no exception.

Based on questions asked, we know the distinctive paths each party will take but in this case, it looks like we can expect the NDP to be walking hand in hand with the Liberals leaving it to the Conservatives to hold the government’s feet to the fire on issues that matter to Canadians.

For the moment at least it is true, only Mulcair can hold the Liberals’ feet to the fire. But when the Conservatives and Bloc elect new leaders — probably within a year — we will see the government being held to account.

@john MORRISON, it’s not so easy to vent on the lefty websites as they block you so as not to offend their sensitive readers. Only the conservative sites allow an opposing view therefore allowing a discussion.

Regarding the Liberals cutting the TFSA contribution from ten thousand a year to five thousand five hundred as was mentioned in yesterday’s Question Period:

Ten thousand in a tax sheltered TFSA invested in a Canadian bank will yield a dividend of $400 per year and an opportunity for an additional $400 in capital gains, as historical averages show. While cutting the TFSA the Liberals are trying to fool single middleclass Canadians by giving them a $300 per year tax cut. They want middleclass Canadians not to notice that changes to the TFSA will cost them $500 per year return on investments. An amount which will grow annually as dividends are increased.

Making people economically dependent on government rather than being independent is the Liberal’s goal. They want to mimic the Ontario Liberal’s hold on power by making people’s economic welfare dependent on them. Cutting the TFSA contribution limit is one step in the plan to reduce economic independence of Canadians..

The Ontario Liberals have so many people dependent on them they will never be removed from power regardless how corrupt they become or how badly they manage. The Federal Liberals want to turn Canada into a Welfare State like Ontario, where a significant majority of people are dependent on the government for their economic welfare and will never vote against it for fear of losing their livelihood. Ontarians are now under duress and cannot vote out the Liberals how rotten they’ve become. Ontario is truly become a Welfare State. Perpetuating their power is all the Federal Liberals care about as well.

To back up their plans to make Canadians economically dependent on then, the Liberals plan to change the Elections Act. They know that a preferential ballot will rig the game enough to give them the best chance for holding onto power. Changing election rules to perpetuate power is a threat to our democracy and a call to arms for all Canadians. This cannot be permitted to happen. We cannot have Putin style government in Canada.

I see the Bloc opposing, the Green supporting the end of FPTP. The NDP I am guessing will support a new system. It will be an uphill battle for us. Junior says he will allow free votes, except things that are in his platform, and sadly this is a platform issue, so I am guessing he will whip the vote. Or will he, like it was in BC, put it before the voters in referendum?
commented 2015-12-08 12:23:58 -0500
Under no circumstances should junior be allowed to touch the election process. This needs to be voted on by the people of Canada, as we don’t trust this Liberal liar at all. Nothing about Liberals is above board. When a Liberal’s lips are moving, they are lying.

Sean, if Trudeau really is committed to an insane project to replace a well functioning first past the post system, I think that is an issue the CPC should fall on its sword for. We don’t want nightmare election processes like the goofy ones used in Denmark or Israel that create unstable coalition governments that last 3 months at a time.

“it will be a matter of time before Trudeau is hated by the masses too. If you want to support Trudeau, buy him a kevlar suit for Christmas. "

Why is it that conservatives always think in terms of thinly veiled threats of violence?

SEAN PENSON commented 4 hours ago – Trudeau is the offspring of a gang banged whore, drug addict, alcoholic who neglected Trudeau to travel with bands as their groupie (heard of Maggie?). Trudeau’s wife Sophie is also a bulimic – she pukes after eating to stay thin.

The Trudeau’s are in fact, dialect french trash who were financed into office by Demarais and Dussault.

Demarais and Dussault families of Montreal put Trudeau into power with their control over MSM and other financial flows. Obama’s advisers also worked with Trudeau to assist in the liberal campaign.

Americans hate Obama’s guts and it will be a matter of time before Trudeau is hated by the masses too. If you want to support Trudeau, buy him a kevlar suit for Christmas.

Shiny Pony and our march towards a ruined country. Time for the west to go their own way.

My cousin Gerry claims that people will not become informed by watching MSN. What would he prefer, that we watch CBC News Network?

Mulcair: “Can the Prime Minister tell us what he’s going to do to reduce GHG emissions in 2016?”
Trudeau: “I certainly can Tom. The Canadian government will not be sending any public servants from the crown to the COP22 conference being held in Morocco next November. Next question.”
commented 2015-12-07 22:51:07 -0500
You’re quite right John, this does get the feel of a commiseration club at times. The key to change is getting the uninformed informed over the next four years and we all know that the MSM is not the place where that is going to happen. Politicians will do what they feel they need to to retain power. Another means, perhaps through social media needs to be utilized to broadcast what is really going on so informed decisions can be made. The clock is ticking.

It doesn’t matter, since we are no longer going to have First Past the Post voting anymore! The Conservatives will be hopelessly in the wilderness, and we will be a very long time until another majority government is elected.

The Trudeau honeymoon will not last forever, but that doesn’t matter anymore. If we get the same type of voting as they have in Australia, which a type of preferential voting, the Liberal Party of Canada will be in office for a very very long time.

I encourage you, therefore, to support the Liberals, even reluctantly; unless you want to remain in the wilderness.

The problem with sites such as the Rebel Media, SDA, Blazing Cat Fur, Five Feet of Fury etc is that conservatives complaining to other conservatives is really a total waste of time in that we are all preaching to the converted. Conservative thinkers who are moaning and dripping or expressing their opinions to other Conservative thinkers is also time consuming and counterproductive in that it really does not accomplish anything other than a Conservative group hug or positive reinforcement from time to time of one’s views. Liberal or progressive thinkers will never, ever come to this site or other sites with a right wing bent. Therefore, we have to be able to get the message out to the MSM and the public by some other means. Otherwise we are doomed. I am not sure what those means are but I for one have decided that I am going to write my Federal MP (NDP) and other Federal MPs (government side of in opposition), letters to the editor, journalists etc on matters that concern me. This may or may not be an effective approach in getting my Conservative viewpoint across but I feel it is a better approach than continuously coming to sites such as this one only to read or to listen to a viewpoint that other Conservatives like myself are already on side with.

And don’t forget Dizzy May! They all conspired against Harper and now they will reap the benefits, which you and I will get to pay for.
commented 2015-12-07 21:45:12 -0500
Well hopefully the conservatives hold the Liberal’s feet to the fire long enough to burn them. Turdeau will get burned, it’s only a matter of time.
Mulcair always was two faced and now just proves it once again.

All Justin hears is that Charlie Brown teacher voice. Because they don’t mean a thing … Blah Blah Blah … for the next 4 years.

It’s not so much of a backrub but more of a reach around that Mulcair is offering Trudeau.

A bit off topic, but…IMPORTANT.
Ambrose has to ask Trudeau what he thinks of the UNs statement. “CO2 emissions have been declining since 2014”. (Source, Sky News).
Next she must ask Trudeau what he thinks of Donald Trumps statement that, “I would ban all Muslims from entering America” (Source, Sky News)

I was quite disappointed with Tommy the Commy. As much as I disagree with him, I actually thought he made an excellent opposition leader and didn’t deserve to lose that job (so long as Harper would’ve remained as PM, of course).

We got a shadow coalition, all bought and paid for by the crooked Liberal party of Canada. They all wanted their piece of Canada, well now they are going to get it, and it will be in pieces by the time this freak is kicked to the curb.

By far the worst promise in their platform I think it is worth fighting over is the inclusion of “trans” Canadians into a protected hate group.

What the hey, is Mulchair now Trudopes “mini me”?

Wait for all the corruption backroom deals and all the bullshit that these fucking idiot liberals are going to come up with, ….people you are fucked .

Brian, I was disappointed that you did not show Trudeau’s answer to Ronna Ambrose. I thought this was a very good question. If she sticks to this line of questioning, she will do well.
I feel that the publics opinion is changing and they are beginning to understand the real danger of Islam.
