EXCLUSIVE: Taxpayers spent $282,000 to send just 17 delegates to Paris climate conference

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Remember two months ago when all the fancy people jetted to the big United Nations global warming meeting in Paris?

Canada had one of the biggest delegations in the world: 383 people.

Almost none of them were scientists or economists, though. Almost all were in the political spin business. That's what Paris was about: preening for the cameras.

So how much did it cost you and me? Well, we at the Rebel submitted Access to Information requests, and we’ve received the first reply, from the 17 people who went from Stephane Dion's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. And the numbers are shocking.

WATCH to find out, but here's a teaser:

Dion's delegates spent almost $50,000 on flights for 10 people, even though Expedia says one round trip ticket from Ottawa to Paris in November only costs about $700.

Wait until you hear how much these folks who say they hate fossil fuels spent on rental cars...

And remember:

That's just what you paid for Dion and his crew of 17, out of 383 Canadian delegates.

But don't worry: Justin Trudeau says budgets balance themselves!

NEXT: Ahead of the Iowa caucus, my friend Gavin McInnes and I talk about why Trump can, and should, beat the other GOP candidates.

THEN: Sun Media National columnist Lorrie Goldstein and I look back at Justin Trudeau's remarks on Holocaust Remembrance Day. Why did he and his Liberal team use such wishy-washy language?

FINALLY: Your letters to me! Remember, I give out my contact information at the end of each show, or you can leave your comments below.

When Trudeau said the wealthy could pay a little more so the middle class could pay a little less, we thought he was talking about taxes, when it seems he was talking about the wealthy paying more on travel while the rest of us would have less to spend on groceries.

Not one report about this anywhere else. It is no wonder that the polls show the Liberals under Trudeau are still positive. With the either lazy or completely biased major news providers ignoring stories like this, why would the majority of people ever have a clue about the largess of their government officials while at the same time trying to say how much they care about the middle class.

And so many people justify high taxes to pay for Canada’s “benefits” like health care. The reality is, this is the kind of crap taxes really pay for, party time, courtesy, tax payers. These parasites burn more fuel in one day than any other citizen would burn through in years. There must have been a cloud of carbon over Paris that weekend just from the delegates consuming fossil fuels.

Michael Mann , do you ever face reality??

To help the cause they brought in some former ministers that were just ravis to be in pasture and now are already sucking up our cash. Those same virtual brains succumbed to the the crap ads that extolled the pretty boy and now we have MT pretty boy on hand to deal with. POOR CANADA THELIBERALS ARE BACKMAY GOD OR LUCK SAVE US!!!

$282,000 is a drop in the bucket, they spent $80,000,000 to put a hold on the retro fit of the military supply ship for a week.

Ezra needs to stop calling Man-Made Global Warming a “theory”. A scientific theory is something proven beyond all feasible doubt. Man-Made Global Warming is only a “hypothesis”, an educated guess — and one that has pretty much been refuted by two decades of flat temperatures while 33% of all man-made CO2 emissions have been made.

Calling them pigs at the trough is inappropriate. It implies that they can’t help themselves and are only doing what they must do, as ordered by instinct. Nay, a pig would never behave like this.

The correct word is “theives”

I believe that the present Liberal government has done more damage to our country and our economy in its few months in power than the Conservatives supposedly had done in its 10-year tenure. We’re all hurting, and the worst is yet to come – even with liberal voters that will not yet admit it.

Don’t blame me, I did not vote for these pricks!

Note that, at the bottom of the expenses list , the narrative states “total as at Jan 04, 2016”. Why do I believe that $282 K is not the actual total of all expenses ? ie- there’s more to come.

“Political correctness” came up during Ezra’s discussion with Gavin McInnes. Gavin pointed out
“It’s not just a little thing, political correctness and this war on free speech; it’s not just a funny little trait. It is really step one of the lemmings going off the cliff…It’s all about power for the people of the left”. We tend still to think of it as only half-serious. In fact, it’s deadly serious. Although political correctness seems like a recent phenomenon it has been in the works for a long time. The origins of “political correctness” or “cultural Marxism” can be found in the early parts of the 20th century from the Frankfurt School (originally called the Institute for Marxism) which was the headquarters for Communists scheming in Germany and who later fled to America in 1933 set up with help from the president of Columbia University. The Frankfurt School believed there were two types of revolution: Political revolution and Cultural revolution. They were more concerned with cultural revolution, the demolition of the established order from within, undermining of the social order, western moral values and capitalism, as a long-term project. The goal is for a new “Communist man” to be created through a changed culture before any political revolution was possible. The following 22-minute documentary, “The History of Political Correctness”, explains its history of development both in Germany and America, the effects of which have profoundly changed and systematically eroded western civilization, moving it unknowingly towards the desired socialist utopia as an end goal, or, as Gavin described it, a step-wise process of having “the lemmings going off the cliff”:

Meh. What’s a few million for partying expenses? There’s plenty of money to go around. It’s the Liberal economic model. Take billions from the west, use it to subsidize the east while importing Islamist voters to swell the welfare populace (thus justifying money pit social programs). It’s not completely irresponsible because there are savings to be made by pulling out our fighter jets and abandoning our allies. Further monies may be realized by slashing the defence budget and returning our military to the status of the national embarrassment it was under Chretien.
The fly in that ointment is crushing Alberta/Sask’s ablility to sell oil by blocking pipeline construction which may hamper the money train but why start making sense now?
commented 2016-02-02 12:08:59 -0500
Well it wouldn’t have been a party if everyone wasn’t there.

Liberals who attended this Piss Up should be made to account for all the money they spent. Things like Hookers, Booze, Drugs and so on. It would also be interesting to know, how many of them actually attended the Conference.

What makes me angry is after all this sacrifice and money we are spending to save the planet , a big asteroid is going to crash into Earth wiping out all humanity.

Trump just finished second in Iowa, I still think he’ll win the GOP nomination , if not I’m sure he’ll run as an independent and will bring all kind of peoples to vote. this will be entertaining.

As for the climate change delegates… if they really wanted zero carbon emission power generation we have the technology now. It’s called Nuclear Power. But no, we’ll keep skipping off to la-la land and pretend that wind mills will save us. How’s that working out for Denmark?

RE: Trudeau and the “Honest mistake”??? Yeah, right.

Do you now how many people go over these speeches?

Investment 101: spend money with the goal to recover initial investment and to maximize ROI. So far, the global warming cultists have spent 282K of taxpayer dollars that will NEVER be recovered and taxpayers will NEVER see tangible benefit. But hey, budgets balance themselves…………..right?
Sunny ways Canada, sunny ways

I like starting my day angry. It helps give me an edge! The world economy is in collapse but not for this cabal. I would appreciate a few minutes in a room alone with any of them…just to tell them what I think about a number of ‘issues’.
