Forget Canadian currency — it’s feminism itself that needs a makeover

Faith GoldyRebel Host

Tonight: What's wrong with modern western feminism, and why the movement -- not our Canadian currency -- is in need of a makeover.

Then, I talk to the people behind a new pro-information documentary "HUSH," which (ironically) is being banned from screening at the University of Winnipeg. Visit our NEW site AccessToInformation.ca to sign our petition in support of free speech and access to information aboutwomen's health.

PLUS: We've got your week's headlines and our Quote of Honour!

(PLEASE NOTE: TheRebel.media has thousands of free short videos and written news stories! But for our full length TV-style shows like this one, you need a premium membership. It’s just $8/month — less than the cost of a coffee and a muffin — or $80/year. To sign up, click here!)

Well, I’ve been supporting The Rebel since it’s inception and have been watching them on YouTube via Roku. I hope they get that working so that I can see the premium items through Roku instead of booting up my computer all the time. But Hey that’s growing pains and I’ll patiently wait for them to work it out. Love the concept, keep it real and keep it coming! I doubt I’ll ever have cable again (had it one weekend while on a work trip and it drove me nuts).

Sam Young go away and don’t pay!

“If I do not have to pay for everything else on the internet, then it is unreasonable that I should have to pay for the rebel. "

Then watch the other channels and stop bitching like a spoiled child. The ‘business model’ will either fail or succeed on its merits; that’s called the free market and Ezra understands and supports that concept as well as anybody.

Why do you people keep defending the rebel for putting up a pay wall? And why is the first line of attack, to point out that the rebel does not get government funding like the other television channels. This is the wrong analogy.

The rebel is an internet based channel. Thus, you should make comparison with all the other free internet channels there are out there that DO Not charge you a dime. If I do not have to pay for everything else on the internet, then it is unreasonable that I should have to pay for the rebel. More to the point, is Ezra being unable to put together a business model that can sustain itself without asking his viewers for money.

There are channels on the internet that are hugely profitable, and never ask people for money. The rebel is not one of these success stories.

What was EVER successful where EZra Levant’s name was attatched to it?

Why not cancel all the other media that drive you crazy and make the Rebel your preferred news source? You always have the radio if you need to expand your information. That makes it a bargain!

Oh yes! A real bargain for the nutters!

Maybe Ezra wants to expand his business. I would support it! I really enjoy the site and its refreshing to hear confirmation of all things we already think is happening around the world. It makes me not want to throw my cup of coffee and the television watching ctv and cbc

So, Sam Young, why don’t you comment on the actual content instead of whining about having to pay for it? You are free to avail yourself of the non-paywall You Tube videos. Please do so.

Mainstream Canadian Conservatism is to blame for this because those in the mainstream conservative media and the moderate conservatives advising politicians and parties are always telling them to not be “controversial” in speaking up against this for fear of “losing the women’s vote”, which fear of losing the women’s vote by ticking off feminists has been the mainstream conservative mantra since the early 1980’s or before when we got Joe Clark, Brian Mulroney etc.

In fact, Feminism has been needing a makeover since the early 1980s as Feminists haven’t been for equality since that time early 1980’s ever since they demanded employment equity hiring preference for women in male dominated jobs, but did not want similar “equality” for men in female dominated jobs.

This was the same time they were fighting to uphold the historical advantage for women in gaining child custody.

Even the most moderate feminist then believed it was ok to discriminate against men if it benefited women. Want to receive a slap in the face or black eye?, just walk up to any woman and say you believe it is ok to to discriminate against women if it benefits men.

While Feminists are great at using tax-payer funded International Women’s days and Feminist run university Wimnins/Wymyns centres and programs to male bash and complain how sexist men are, the real sexism is a lack of accountability and lack of “arse kicking” given to feminists that their sexist male chauvinist equivalent receives from the typical non-feminist women who won’t put up with such sexist behavior from a man

Don’t mind paying my 80$/yr, as long as the shows are not covered with pop-up ads and cookies.
love the content and the set-up of TheRebel, no more nat. post and global,

First off, I applaud you on your adjective-filled description of third-wave feminists! Man, that was awesome to hear you say it!
Also, that news re the results ‘thanks’ to the powers permitted by Bill C-51 do rather surprise me. One may feel free to prove me wrong, but this still doesn’t necessarily justify the part where it violates one of our rights.
Nonetheless, thanks for the great shows and keep ’em up! :D

I cannot stand to watch ANY Canadian content anymore. I haven’t tuned into anything cbc for over 20 years and now that CTV stands for Continuous Trudeau Vision, I am cutting the cable completely. What I save in one month for the cost of satellite will cover a years subscription to worthwhile, honest, straight reporting from the only outlet with the guts to consider us adults and able to handle the truth. Besides $2 bucks a week to watch full-lengty Faith is reason enough to contribute.
And if I can dupe Trudeau into declaring me a Migrant, I will gladly donate my $61.00/day meal allowance to the Rebel.

LARRY JUNG;
Hey Larry it is just $2 a week. Would you rather have commercials?

The way I see it, the Rebel has to cover it’s costs, making videos is not cheap and these Guys have got to live.

Good Show, Faith.
The way I see things, Caucasian women need to increase their birth rate, we are a dying race. Why should we make it easy for Muslims,

Keep up the good work.

They want to change our money while working on making it worthless with their anti-economy “green” policies. These university groups are all about free speech, as long as you agree with them.
commented 2016-03-11 14:08:23 -0500
C’mon Larry, only the CBC can give stuff away for free. The Rebel has to pay their staff. 80 bucks a year is a bargain. Even the trolls contribute so they can continue to humiliate themselves in the comment section.

Superb work Faith! I hope Marissa Semkiw comes back from school and rejoins theRebel.media and has a powerful, hard hitting, factual expose type show herself. We are blessed with the talent here. I cannot spend more than 10 seconds watching the (CMP), Consortium Media Party, without becoming angry and nauseous. I am a proud member!

Larry Jung, I agree with your assertion to a degree. However, you have to understand that theRebel.media cannot exist without income. It is a balance. They are finding their balance without “free money” from taxpayers. I like that.
commented 2016-03-11 13:25:46 -0500
Larry… one is still able to use the site, get to watch clips of all the contributors and read the blogs etc. It is only the complete show(s) that require a subscription to watch. I case you are not aware, nothing is free. RELAX!!

TheRebel.media by holding back their video’s for paid subscribers only your now only preaching to the choir,The Rebel now will have almost no effect on Canadian culture whatsoever!. The Rebel needs to be open, this way The Rebel can give and explain conservative values to others beisdes the choir!. I already sent a cheque to The Rebel two weeks ago so I have no problem donating money to The Rebel if it’s open fully to the public but sadly I won’t be donating any more money to The Rebel nor personally promoting The Rebel any more unless it stops limiting itself with not being fully open. The Rebel has a great concept and product so people will donate money to it eventually if it’s fully open but The Rebel is blocking itself now by limiting it’s excellent product to the wide public!.

I wonder if Faith will be on the November cruise, a dream , seeing Faith in a bikini, that would be glaring. sorry, an old man fantasy.

Great show Faith, I particularly liked the news wrap-up towards the end. I had seen over half of the items mentioned elsewhere, but the main reason I signed on with TheRebel is for the potential of a news aggregator that doesn’t make me gnash my teeth with how stories are framed.

Many feminists are just angry lesbians that act like tyrants in a group, but as individuals are just fkg cowards.

Best episode of “On the Hunt” so far. I haven’t been a big fan of the show before but I enjoyed this one. I think Faith has gotten more comfortable in front of the camera.
