Former McGuinty deputy chief of staff tries to crowdsource $100K in legal defense funds

Rebel Staff

Laura Miller, former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty's deputy chief of staff, is trying to crowdsource her legal defense funds.

She, along with McGuinty's former chief of staff, David Livingston, were charged last month with breach of trust and mischief over the deletion of emails relating to the Liberal's decision to cancel two gas plants just before the 2011 election. The gas plant cancellations cost tax payers $1.1 billion.

RELATED: McGuinty “aides” charged in gas plant scandal but what about McGuinty and Wynne?

The two hired Peter Faist to wipe clean hard drives in the premier's office.

Miller's defense fund has reached 29% of its goal at the time of this posting.

BC: Another provincial Liberal party, another "deleted email" scandal

Former deputy Ontario premier Dwight Duncan donated $500 and posted the following message. “Please accept this contribution to your legal defence as reaffirmation of my view that you have been wrongly accused. I have always known you to be a person of great integrity who has committed her life to public service.”

SIGN: Kathleen Wynne needs to go, sign the petition, tell her to resign.

She has also received several anonymous donations of at least $1,500.

Amusingly, one anonymous donor gave $1 in order to post this message: “Dalton and everyone involved in this liberal government should be imprisoned. It was unbelievable what happened with our taxpayer dollars. It's now unbelievable yet again that certain people who were on staff are resorting to this.”

These morally bankrupt, unconscionably heinous criminals have no shame, they will do anything and everything they can get away with to advance themselves and their criminal and immoral agendas.
I want to see some orange jumpsuits and shackles in the news – starting with the Wynne/McGuinty criminal organization!
We need some kind of big RICO stick in Canada to beat these complacent sociopaths and degenerate scum back down into the sewers they slithered out of…

John Zealand – that is the beauty of this little scam, the government will fund her defence with our money.
commented 2016-01-06 09:09:12 -0500
Who in their right mind would crowd fund a lawyer? This crowd funding scam is just another way of funneling money from the tax payers. How do we know that the money donated is truly coming out of Liberals own bank accounts?

Michael Mann the Rebel is not staffed by crooks like the liberal party.

Michael Mann no one said they can’t loser, now go listen to your liberal BS. Why are Wynne and Mcguinty not being held to account?

The twit can’t pay for her legal expenses herself?! These days everybody needs an excuse to open gofundme page! Maybe I should open a gofundme page as well!

I agree with Darryl Teskey, they are all in bed together & nothing will happen. How couldOntarians have voted Wynne in with a mandate to boot, they are clueless & deserve what they got, but it’s too bad that those who didn’t have to be punished because of those voters’ stupid decisions. I wouldn’t give that little liberal thief one red cent. It seems that in this socialist left wing world we live in today that if you’re a politician, unless you’re caught red handed murdering someone, there will be no repercussion for your actions.

So? If people want to support her – then that is their right.

You ask people to pay for bullshit on The Rebel and there are people who want to support you too.

Perhaps The Rebel could crowd fund for Miller, on the condition that she tells the truth and Hangs Wynney the Pooh.

The federal government deals with e-mail more seriously. They have regulated that all e-mail is to be backed up by the IT people so that when hard drives are cleaned/destroyed there is a record of local decisions. This puts the onus on all personnel not to be sending out stupid shit plus it keeps the big boys accountable on their decisions. I guess the Ontario Government doesn’t need that accountable stuff as it just gets in the way.

Bravo Zulu has it right…
These two are low hanging fruit, sacrificed to distract from McGuilty and Wynne. It’s all strategically orchestrated from Wynne’s inner Cabinet Ministers offices, the closed political shop.
“The Commissioner of the OPP reports to and is accountable to the Minister of Community Safety
and Correctional Services”.
The Minister of CS and CS is Yasir Naqvi, (Pakistani) Liberal mpp from Ottawa Centre.
Part of Wynne’s inner Cabinet, past President of the Ontario Liberal Party etc. so you see he is directly politically connected to the top echelon of Wynne and the Ontario Liberals.
Easy to control the OPP Commissioner who reports to him.
The Attorney General Minister ‘Madeleine Meilleur’ mpp Ottawa-Vanier prior to March 2014, held the same Ministry of CS and CS in charge of the OPP. Any charges to be prosecuted, would be sanctioned from this AG’s office in conjunction with the OPP Commissioner and the Minister of CS and CS..
So, in the reporting structure, you see the nice impenetrable closed political shop to make it very difficult to police and prosecute government corruption.
They really have to screw up and botch their scam badly in order to break thru to expose them, and you need strong investigative media journalists, which rarely exist in Canada any more.

THERE IS A SUCKER BORN EVERY MIN seems to fit those who would defend her activities and fund her. There are two laws for Canadians those with political connections with the liberals and those who have none. Nothing will happen to her. The liberal appointed judges will see to that. As for the OPP they are as crooked as the liberals.

What kills me is that, even without media coverage, people are aware of the corruption and scandal. Yet they still voted in a liberal federal government cut from the same cloth. Voters have no concept of right and wrong nor to they realize the consequences of their actions. This is the legal definition for insanity

She’s going to sing and Wynne knows it. There’s going to be a plea bargain for an stayed sentence. It’s like Karla Homolka all over again.
commented 2016-01-05 17:32:30 -0500
Now would be the best time to reveal a saved hard drive and you wouldn’t need a defence fund.

Someone should ask Trudeau how much of our money is being funneled out of the PMO to aid these criminals.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, and to do it under the cover of crowd sourcing, that’s a typical Liberal move, play the victim and make others pay. Well she won’t be getting a dime from me and I hope she goes to jail, and takes that crook Wynnie with her.

Warning to all Liberal staffers! Work at your own risk. There is no coverage if you get thrown under the bus.

The OPP are in the lib back pocket – not the line guys and gals – the management types.

No one will ever lay a charge against the bosses.

Seems she could get off with no expenses if she would simply open up and tell the truth.

I bet she has some people high in the Ontario government worried.

Or they have something on her that is extremely overwhelming and she cannot sing.
