At the Canadian Conservative Party convention in Vancouver, I sat down with investor, "Dragon's Den" star and potential CPC leadership candidate Kevin O'Leary. As you might expect, it was a provocative conversation about foreign and domestic policy, party branding and so much more.
O'Leary says he gets 10,000 emails a week, many from Millennials who break the "parents' basement intern" stereotype and look up to him as an unapologetic capitalist.
He's got very specific proposals, including holding online referenda on contentious topics like pipeline construction. (O'Leary also calls the NDP a "virus" -- that's one of his many quotable quotes in this video...)
Does this really indicate a growing constituency the Conservative Party can tap into? Does O'Leary really have a chance of wining the leadership -- and is that what he really wants?
Talk about it in the comments!
