Gilles Duceppe hates pipelines (except in his own investment portfolio)

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Now that Gilles Duceppe is back and running for the leadership of the Bloc Quebecois again, his main campaign issue is his opposition to oil and gas pipelines.

The thing is, Duceppe has spoken in the past about his personal investments.

One of these is called the Helios Fund -- and its holdings include a number of oil sands companies, including Enbridge!

Living off the avails of others efforts? I think it’s called pimping. Seems Quebec has no problem with that. Separate already! Canada keeps the lands adjacent to the St. Lawrence seaway as they mostly were not part of the original Quebec. There is our corridor. Quebec would also lose northern Quebec which is largely aboriginal land and it is highly doubtful they would accede to an independant Quebec. So what’s left" Real Estate in an around Montreal and Quebec city mostly. And no more transfer payments from the R.O.C. That alone would boost the Canadian Economy.

Gilles Duceppe is clearly trying to play for both sides of the fence, but as we all know, it NEVER goes well. If his bashing of the oilsands falls short of the mark, he stays rich. If people buy into it, he’s as broke as a window. I wonder if he’s going to push for the Separation of Quebec again. If he does, I say cut them loose, if that’s the general Quebecer consensus. They think they can self sustain? Let them stand alone if they think they can do it.

Ah yes “Gumby” Duceppe, my favorite Marxist comic is still running his political stand up comedy bits – getting old but still very funny – who can forget the famous “relating to the working stiffs on the hustings” sketch (shown here) : http://tinyurl.com/norxxyj

Why are we even doing transfer payments… Does not make any sense at all. Fend for yourself if you don`t like O&G. The only thing is, is that you would starve to death in a province that really has no money, no way of getting money, and no way of actually making money except through taxes. We should stop all transfer payments for 1 year and see how they do… We in Alberta would have no deficit, a shit load of cash on hand, and would be doing just fine…. Except the NDP would figure out a way to screw that up too, but let`s not get into that right now…

Has Duceppe not learned? His Bloc policies were the reason he got trounced four years ago by the NDP in the first place. The provincial separatists got royally turfed in the last Quebec provincial election. He’s not getting the hint? The people of Quebec don’t want his arse in parliament! Not too bright, then, is he?

Although I don’t agree with his politics, I hope he does well enough to take seats away from the NDP.

Randy asked, “I wonder why?”

Because it is not socially acceptable to expose the province that lives in Canada’s basement and lives off of Canada’s good will.

Here the thing Ezra, politicians are liars but all french politicians take that to the extreme. So really is anyone surprised by this. The French people have been lying since the start. Always a threat to leave yet non of our elected officials would ever call them on it! It’s all political gamesmanship that they like to do. I love listening to these politicians and really wish I was a reporter just so I could call them out on their lies, which by the way no report or radio host ever does! I wonder why?

Gilles is just another buggy-eyed Frenchman taking another kick at the can. What a joke.

It’s typical, all these provinces that want to discourage oil sands development still want their transfer payments. I think we will just print money out of nothing like the US

By running, jill douche-bag will take votes from the enn-dee-pee and troodo. Even though jill is a useless pig, there may be a purpose for this POS after all.

Good old hypocrite Quebec bashing Albert and Alberta oilsands all the while taking 12 billion/year from Alberta through provincial equalization. They not only bite the hand that feeds them, they bite it and shake it and then wonder why Albertans dislike them so.
