WATCH Minister McKenna and Obama’s EPA administrator lie “for the environment”

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

It’s amazing the way people can get away with lies as long as they’re lying for the right cause, like for the environment.

We saw that this week as Gina McCarthy, Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator came to Canada to meet with our Environment Minister Catherine McKenna.

After their panel discussion about the importance of addressing climate change, a Q & A was held with the public and the media.

During this Q & A some lies were told like when McCarthy referred to CO2 as a pollutant and when McKenna claimed that businesses wanted a carbon tax.

In my video, I point to the fudge factors that are employed by politicians to hide their lies.

The fact is, a green lie is still a lie but it’s one that they’re are allowed to get away with if we don’t pay attention.

Nobody wants a carbon tax. Who would want to give the government another revenue stream they can abuse and raise when ever it suits their needs (Christie wants to raise it in BC. now).

Over the millenia people have done a lot of things to try and change natural events. From throwing virgins into volcanoes to stop eruptions, to various sacrifices for rain or good crops. There have been inquisitions and witch hunts due to extreme beliefs at times. You would think with all the advances in technology that when a claim is made it could be verified, instead of being proven wrong time and time again. And then, when questioned the zealots claim the disbelievers as heretics, who must be dealt with or convert to the new belief. Amazing that however smart we become as a species, we still cling to old hysterical fervour behaviour.

By the way Mantooth, does the burning ball of fire 93 million miles from take cash to change its effects on our climate? And with 10 years of emissions reductions being negated by just one volcanic eruption, whatever will you do about all the active volcanoes? Might I suggest you do your part and jump in one and plug it off. One last thing, shutting down all industry, all transportation, all heating, will not even get the idiot governments of the world part way to meeting their reduction targets. So what will you do?
commented 2016-04-09 01:14:36 -0400
Man tooth, are you referring to the vast number of scientists that wrote the research papers for the IPCC, then when the UN wrote the executive summary for governments, and changed the research to lies, those very scientists had to threaten legal action if their names were not removed from the published documents? Those would be the very same VAST number of scientists, in addition to the founder of Greenpeace who is an educated expert who calls it a hoax as well.
Also, what will you do without the hundreds of petroleum based products you use everyday, throw them out and use hemp?

should read, Therefore it makes no sense and is not logical behaviour to make ‘government’ policy based on it. Not ‘political’ policy. But when they do make policy changes it is based on political agenda and not facts.
commented 2016-04-08 23:20:00 -0400
Mantooth, no one wants to hurt you, we’d just like to be able to disagree with out being shut down. At least you agree that there is no 97% of scientists agreeing on anything. And since you don’t, how could you accept policy based on nothing but political agenda under the guise of concern for the environment?

Cigarettes causing cancer and sickness is an odd analogy. No one in their right mind believed the line that they played no part in many illnesses and didn’t cause cancer in some. Because it made no sense. Everyone knew they couldn’t be good for you. It does however make perfect sense and is quite logical, to question the ‘truth’ that anthropogenic warming/change has any noticeable effect on the earth’s climate. There is at least as much evidence that it does NOT as supports this idea. Therefore it makes no sense and is not logical behaviour to make political policy based on it. We should be shouting stop from the roof tops. People are getting sick of politicians playing God. They are becoming quite brazen.

Lloyd, there is definitely some arrested development going on there.

Why would I publish my real name, Mr. Sucks? (Very appropriate surname, by the way) So you can call me up to threaten to shoot me, like your buddy did to Shannon Phillips’ staff, over my support for carbon pricing, a.k.a. the failure of a free market?

And Lizzzzzzzza – Can you hear yourself? “Scientists that have bought into the lie for the ride”. Sounds like the only one buying anything here is you… And of course there’s no scientific consensus on climate change (just the view of the VAST majority of scientists that humans burning everything under them can’t possibly be a good idea). There isn’t even scientific consensus on cigarettes causing cancer… but I’m willing to bet you’ve “bought into” that and wouldn’t let your poor children smoke.

If you think CO2 is a pollutant then better off yourself and stop polluting. Or stop breathing all together, either works fine.

I love these guys like Mantooth Szabo who will tell you to check scientific peered review reports about climate change. Too bad Mantooth can’t take his own advice and publish his real name and credentials. This is simultaneous irony and hypocrisy. Hey Mantooth, you might get away with your skit in the Dipper and Libber cafes but nobody here is buying your horse shit.

J Webb, Christie is no better than the rest of them, she’ll keep hiking it. What’s the use of having a made up revenue tool if you don’t make it work for you. Implement the 15 an hour min. and some of Trudeau’s tax adjustments for those pesky small businessmen who get away with murder in this country, and you’ll shut down the entire country.

Mantooth Szabo, I have no doubt whatsoever that your bullshit is peer reviewed. There are many ‘scientists’ who have bought into the lie for the ride. The global downturn do to the Saudis wanting to retain their market share, and Obama bankrolling and lifting sanctions on Iran, was more than taken advantage of by the crooks voted in on both sides of the border.
There is no consensus, carbon Dioxide is not a pollutant. There is no anthropogenic global warming. The amount is so minuscule as to be non existent.

Spot on Brian. Good crap crushing. ‘Industry wants a carbon tax’, yeah right McKenna. Industry just want to know what the blessed rules are so they can decide whether or not they can do business here in preparation for a better global situation. They are asking for ‘certainty’. Mckenna’s comprehension skills aren’t very good or she is just saying it the way she wants people to hear it. I think that’s the same as lying.

“CO2 is not a pollutant”?
I’m sorry but you’re not a scientist, so keep your mouth shut. Your bullsh!t is not peer-reviewed.
Even Koch Industries and various members of the US Republican party would disagree with your antiquated assertion. You’re on the wrong side of history, pal… and I’m loving watching you guys slowly come to that realization.
Actually, on second thought – keep basing your desperate, uneducated arguments on that claim. It might gain you a few more pathetic Flat Earth Society supporters, like Alberta’s Michael Enright, looking for anything or anyone to blame for the fact that their sorry choice of a career in the fossil fuel industry has crumbled. But more importantly for us, the desperation in your arguments is highly entertaining.
Party’s over folks. Hope you made arrangements to get home, as your gravy train has derailed.
Adapt or die… just don’t whine about it (but if you insist on whining, then maybe direct it at the Saudis and Iranians, or China or the reborn US oil & gas industry, since they’re the ones to blame for your lost jobs. Not Notley, Not Wynne. Not Trudeau.)

CO2 is a colorless, odorless, life-giving gas, vital and critically necessary to the health and survival of life on the earth;

and represents an insufficiently super-tiny trace amount in the atmosphere (0.0004), and 33 times less effective than methane as a greenhouse gas;

and is empirically evidenced to have statistically near zero net effect on the climate’s natural variations.

Au contraire to the fraud and lies by the green cult, increases in atmospheric CO2 has massive positive benefits by actually helping the earth by allowing plants to breathe and flourish better, increasing vegetation, thus reducing hunger and famine around the world; among a litany of other benefits.

And this is all science; and not the conjecture and wild-ass guesses prognosticated by the catastrophic the-world-is-doomed global warming cult.

Calling CO2 a pollutant just because some partisan political body with a fraudulent opinion poll hypothesizes that it might cause a couple more hurricane or other bunk,
is like saying Oxygen is a pollutant because it contributes to forest fires.

The republicans will restore CO2 as an essential, organic life force of the earth in early 2017.

Somebody should tell McKenna she has a lot of pollution coming out of her mouth. I would do it but I am too busy bad mouthing Dippers and Libbers today. I would like to see Wynne, Notley, McKenna and maybe Clarke in a mud fight. Last one standing wins an all expenses paid vacation to see Fidel Castro before he turns into carbon. I would pay big bucks to see that. Yeah, I am going to dream about that tonight.

If the pollution they claim was a real pollutant, they would not have to lie about it.
