Have you been 'muted' by someone on Facebook? This simple messenger glitch will let you know

Rebel Staff

A newly discovered Facebook glitch will let you know if you've been 'muted' by a friend on Facebook.

'Mute' is a feature on Facebook messenger that prevents the receiver from being alerted to a new message on desktop and mobile devices. While you can still send messages to someone who has you muted, they'll never know unless they check their message history.

The feature is normally used on group chats where there are too many notifications or as an alternative to removing someone as a friend or blocking them.

In order to tell if you're muted by someone, follow these steps:

1) Send someone who you think has you muted a message

2) Wait for them to read the message

3) On desktop, if the time the recipient has 'seen' the message matches the time you sent it, then chances are you've been muted. If not, that person hasn't muted you

4) Check the message on a mobile device. If 'seen' is at a later time than the one shown on desktop, then you've been muted.

So far, we tested this glitch with Android phones and it works. It is unknown if Facebook is aware of the problem and is working on fixing it. Let us know in the comments if this glitch works with other mobile devices.

Michael Mann said “This isn’t a problem for real Canadians” – Once again a vacuous idiot who is a lefty propagandist parrot claims that a minority of vacuous idiot socialists are the only “real Canadians”. Go draw a graph looser.

Why would you care? Seriously, if they don’t want to see your posts that is good, at least they will not reply with an annoying rebuttal. You can also add them to a list and exclude them from seeing your posts if they always reply with annoying drivel. I just added two more vacuous socialists to my ‘acquaintance’ list so they don’t get my regular posts.

Rod,

You are missing the point – people who get muted or unfriended are usually conservatives, because they say crazy shit. That is why The Rebel is trying to help here. This isn’t a problem for real Canadians.

Personally I don’t use it so it’s inconsequential—25 years ago if you’d asked a person to volunteer their personal information to an organization, their goings-on, with frequent updates, and ceding the property rights to your photos of your family and friends, the average person would say you’re crazy. Nowadays we call it Facebook—intelligence community’s wet-dream.

FB?

Never go there

Anti-western and rich enough to not care

It should be shut down or let loose – one of the two

Who cares about Facebook. There’s better ways to spend one’s time during the day. Personally, I don’t have any mobile device. Lord knows I don’t want social media to follow me around all day, especially by Liberanonsensicals.
