"It’s like the liberation of Paris": Hill Times should name anonymous lobbyist who compared Conservatives to Nazis

Dean SkoreykoRebel Blogger

It’s bad enough that Hill Times’ deputy editor Mark Burgess ran a vomit-inducing Trudeau fan-piece about how ecstatic the public service bureaucrats are now that the Liberals have been brought back in power:

“There’s quite a spirit of optimism across the public service,” said Karl Salgo, a veteran of the Finance Department and the Privy Council Office who’s now with the Institute on Governance.

“I think for the most part there’s reason to believe that they’re not being cynical about it, that they’re taking the government at its word that it does want to do things differently and that this will better enable them to better play the traditional role they have as advisers and go back to flex some of the muscles they haven’t flexed for some years.”

But for Burgess to protect the name of a Liberal lobbyist for saying this, it completely crosses the line of ethical journalism:

“It’s like the liberation of Paris,” said one lobbyist speaking on a not-for-attribution basis.

Because the Conservatives under Stephen Harper were just like the Nazis and Adolf Hitler while Trudeau and the Liberals are the Allies who rescued the world from a murderous regime.

Conservative MPs have the right to know who this lobbyist is.

And what does a lobbyist do? He looks for political favours on behalf of his special interest group. In other words, his “job” is to circumvent democracy. You know something? That “feels” like fascism. And since we now know that “feeling” trumps thinking we can conclude that lobbyists are fascists! Wow, I kind of like this reasoning by “feeling” game.

And, you know, when I hear Trudeau’s statement about China it “feels” like what he really admires is their dictatorship. So I get this “feeling” that champagne socialist Trudeau is a closet dictator. Let’s just hope it stays in the closet so he doesn’t hurt Nathan et als “feelings”.

It was me. And 15 million Canadians feel the same way.
No one needs to know the name. The right of a journalist to not publicly disclose their sources is well entrenched in law. And for very good reasons.
Now how insulting is that to the Chinese that Trudeau merely saying he has a “certain amount of respect for the Chinese” was turned into a political attack against him. Conservatives have THAT little respect for China? And people wonder why Harper is believed to have been toxic for our international relations (except for when playing lapdog to the Americans) …

Do not know how relevant The Hill Times is. I guess it is popular in Ottawa where our Liberals reside but on the web not so much. They rank at 12,032 and TheRebel comes in at 684. Way more people tuned in to TheRebel. We have a good chance to counter them and their ilk

J KAY – it’s access to free markets that turned the Chinese economy around NOT the dictatorship: what good is building a Keystone pipeline without such access? While you’d be correct in stating that with that access the “basic dictatorship” can do the things you say, it’s unsustainable as we are now seeing, since they’re holding a boatload of US paper. The US Confederation was an economic powerhouse in it’s time too, thanks in big part to slavery (i.e. cheap, forced labour)—would you respect anybody who stated they admired slavery because of how it’s able to fuel their economy, true or not? I’d also submit, as an aside, that if China built a Keystone pipeline, it would be the leakiest pipeline in the world—they’re not much for quality assurance.

J Kay: It was a ridiculous comment for anyone to make let alone someone who was a leader of the opposition and hoping to become the leader of Canada. Of course you can turn the economy around on a dime when you either have your opponents killed or jailed. It makes light not only of politicians who are in jail but the people of Tienanmen Square but the millions slaughtered under Mao.

Apparently that lobbyist doesn’t understand that Hitler and his pals were socialists just like the Liberals. It is a common fallacy, foisted upon the public from public school to university, that Nazis were far right wing. Liberals do not want us to make the connection between liberalism / socialism / Nazi-ism because the truth is too damaging to their agenda. Of course the party name ‘National SOCIALIST Party’ pretty much gives it away, but any study of the politics of the time, the governance style of the Nazis or the policies of that government will confirm that the Nazis were socialists.
If the lobbyist is that stupid, one must ask who is stupid enough to employ him?
If a comparison must be made between the rise of the Liberals and the defeat of the Conservatives in terms of WWII, the more accurate comparison would be ‘Dunkirk’, where the Conservatives were thrown out of office as the British were thrown out of the continent with the Nazis ( socialists) in hot pursuit.
Liberals would be well advised to remember how that story ended .. .. . ..

It always amazes me the hate speech the left can spew with no consequences, yet someone disagreeing with them gets hit with legal or human rights violations, is this not what the west fought against in the “liberation of Paris”.

Lad Reme says “when you see the Jews taking over their jobs, perhaps they will see the error of their ways.”
I thought on this site we pretended that the Jews were not the enemy.
Do we have no rules to follow?

That’s interesting, Jay Kelly. So a broad spectrum of society saw something that wasn’t there and decided to vote for the real thing? Is our society so screwed up that it actually sees the tyranny of political correctness as liberating?

Through a broad spectrum of Canadian society, especially during the election campaign, Stephen Harper was compared to Hitler and his government to the Nazis.
His style was seen as totalitarian, and some of the policies of the Conservatives were seen as racist, discriminatory, and bigoted.
It was not just the major media, or the local governments, or those responsible for local policing. It was Canadian electorate that realized it was time for change.
Do you really want to unveil all those who compared Stephen Harper to Adolph Hilter? Beter that we let the dead rest in peace.

We all know that the Civil Service are only loyal to the Lieberals because they will give the leeches what they want…Who we should really be concerned about is the Lying Lieberal media…They are the people that need to be kept honest. People need to be relentless about calling them out whenever they lie and BS.

Sorry I can’t get worked up about Librano apparatchiks sneering at an administration that demands performance and value – it’s what you expect from this parasitic entitled scum. Just consider the source – what kind of underachiever careerist aspires to this type of bureaucratic partisan butt-snorkeling to keep their cozy sinecure? Career bureaucrats are people who can’t hold a decent career in the private sector, they have no marketable skills to make money for their employer – they are net deficits as far as productivity is concerned -DRONES – So F’ em

What a joke. Just shows how utterly insane these people are. The whole bureaucracy is infected with diversity, sustainability, multiculturalism and other facets of political correctness. Our universities are no longer institutes of higher learning but institutes of political correctness. Taxpayers are now forced to pay for politically correct sex change surgery. Sex ed is now teaching a politically correct gender continuum. You’re a homophobe if you disagree with the curriculum; you’re a bigot if you have anxieties about Syrian refugees. Even Trudeau’s cabinet is now politically correct. Our society has been infected by the insanity of political correctness from top to bottom. So who are the Nazi’s again? From where I am sitting it sure doesn’t look like the Conservatives.

Harper was criticized daily by the media from the day he was elected, until Craig Oliver’s idiotic rant and beyond. He was never given a moments respite from the negativity of the left, including those calling themselves “reporters”. He was also accused of staying away from the media. Can anyone blame him? There were no “what shampoo do you use”, and other fawning questions. Just attack after attack on his policies and his character. Just last night on CTV, Don Martin and his guests were still blaming him for every single woe they could think of. I firmly believe that after 4 years of Trudeau’s reign, whatever bad things happen will still be Harper’s fault. Name calling and pulling the dictator/bigot card at every opportunity is simply the “Progressive” way.

Edward Jobin, I can’t stand Trudeau but this is what he said,“There’s a level of admiration I actually have for China. Their basic dictatorship is actually allowing them to turn their economy around on a dime.”
I agree with him 100%. If the Keystone Pipeline were in China, it would have been built by now. It’s the fact that they are a dictatorship that allows the leadership to do what they think they need to do without consulting anyone. Here we have years of consultations, with foreign foundations sticking their noses in and school children opining on it and aboriginal groups blocking it. Years ago, the Chinese embarked on a programme to pay for and build roads for free in the Sudan and in return they would have access to their resources. Do you think that would ever happen here? There are benefits to dictatorships too.

When the Civil Servants start to see the Muslims taking over their jobs, perhaps they will understand the error of their ways. Easy Street is over, Girls and Boys, you will soon have to go out and actually work for a living.

Good point Edward Jobin. I doubt that many lefties realize Trudeau is looking to relax the Chinese foreign ownership percentages of Canadian resource companies, whereas Harper was open about his ideological stance on China’s human rights abuses as complications to economic lenience.

What I find ironic is they glibly ignore Trudeau’s open praise of the basic dictatorship of communist China while trying to smear Harper by comparing him to a mass murderer? Honestly in light of Trudeau’s affection for communist China it makes sense he wants to move the perpetual reminder of it’s victims from the Supreme Court grounds.

NAZI = National Socialist. Liberal = Nationalizing everything they can think of = National Socialist.

But Trudeau is not Adolf Hitler. Trudeau is more of a shoe shine boy for Adolf Hitler. A more fitting role for this dumb ass camp counselor.

Drop dead Trudeau you half wit.

Is it any surprise by now? As I pointed out elsewhere today, Harper has been alluded to as a nazi-like figure (e.g. ‘Herr Harper,’ ‘Stasi Steve’) by the left for years and it escalated to what would be maudlin if it didn’t result in the putting our low-IQ PM into power. Insults are last refuge of the out-argued, and that’s why conservatives are “racists,” “fascists,” “nazis”—whatever comes to mind, so consider it a badge of honour in light of this. Just as the Liberals are so out of touch with the middle-class, so too are most if not all of the public sector unions, who represent the upper middle, to frankly, upper class in this country. When I hear a bureaucrat state they’re hoping to “go back to flex some of the muscles they haven’t flexed for some years” I don’t envisage it means cost-cutting and a more lean and efficient public service.

Stefan Molyneaux’s recent conversation on Pathological Altruism, with psychologist Barbara Oakley, brought up a very interesting point. As far as using powers of empathy, conservatives are very good at understanding where the lefties are coming from, while ‘progressive’ lefties fail miserably in their understanding of conservatives. Hence, they caricature conservatives as knuckle-dragging gun-toting Bible thumping war mongers, showing clearly the degenerate mental condition which is the hallmark of the entrenched, intolerant, closed-minded ‘progressive’ left. No wonder it’s impossible to have a rational discourse with most of them. Their brains are crystallized.

That faux spirit of optimism will soon be extinguished, when the public servants realize the risks of having an imposter as their leader. They will soon see that the one the Liberals were attacking and warning the public about, which would be our PM Harper, in reality was actually Junior and his wrecking crew. The liberals are masters at projection, denial, mistruths, half-truths, you name it they are masters of anything evil. They are group narcissists, and they have no empathy or compassion for anyone but themselves. History will prove that our little Hitler is junior himself. And one day PM Harper is going to be laughing, as this puppet pays his dues for being liar and deceiver.
