Amidst a lot of speculation and exaggerated claims, the truth has come out - mostly - in the story involving refugees and a five-year-old girl.
UPDATE: According to the idahostatesman, the case has been sealed. Although prosecutors and police are barred from discussing certain details in sealed juvenile cases, certain facts have been revealed. The boys are from Sudan and Iraq. They are being held at a juvenile detention facility. Officials suspect the boys have been in the United States fewer than two years, but their refugee status wasn’t immediately clear to the police chief. Their ages are 7, 10 and 14.
The original report from another website, referenced below, was correct about certain facts, such as the incident being recorded and the fact it was three migrant children. Once again, it seems the initial report had some truth to it.
According to the original report, the refugees were aged 8, 10 and 13. They allegedly “pulled a knife on her, held it to her throat, forced her into the laundry unit, stripped her naked, raped, and urinated on her.”
Twin Falls County Prosecutor Grant Loebs said that "the older one didn’t touch the victim in any way", but he refused to elaborate. A knife, however, was not used.
The report, posted on Pamela Geller's website, claims that the 13 year old migrant “coached” the younger boys as he recorded them on his phone.
Loebs did confirm that a video was indeed shot on a cellphone.
The Statesman reports that, "the police chief told the public the victim’s health and safety were the department’s first priority, and apprehending the suspects was the second — regardless of either’s ethnicity or religious beliefs."
In regards to the time it took for police to investigate the incident, Twin Falls Police Chief Craig Kingsbury said the call originally came in as “something a lot less serious than a sexual assault or lewd and lascivious conduct.”
Because of the fact this alleged sexual assault involved minors, that's all the information we're getting. Citizens are not happy about it.
You can see the incident being discussed at a Twin Falls city council meeting.
Other incidents involving Muslim refugees were also brought up at the meeting, with some citizens asking City Councilors if they even followed the news.
This is similar to what happened in Halifax where refugees students abused Canadian children and the media tried desperately to cover up the story.
