Iran's video of captured U.S. Navy sailor crying: "A real American president wouldn’t let this happen with impunity"

Rebel Staff

Iran’s state-controlled television is broadcasting a video shot after the Iranian navy captured two U.S. military boats and kept the Americans hostage for a day or two, with no reaction from Barack Obama or John Kerry.

This latest video shows a male sailor crying, or at least wiping his tears.

So Iran succeeded in humiliating U.S. military personnel.

But let's face it: It’s impossible to humiliate Obama or Kerry.

A real American president wouldn’t let this happen with impunity. Why do you think Donald Trump is doing so well?

By the way, I don’t believe these Navy sailors were overpowered.

I believe they were ordered to surrender by the U.S. administration.

Do you really doubt that Obama would would throw U.S. military personnel to the wolves?

Really? If so, I’ve got a burnt out consulate in Benghazi to sell you...

In the RCN and the RN surrendering the bridge of your ship to the enemy is tantamount to rape. There is little wonder that this sailor is in tears if he had been ordered to surrender his ship to the enemy. The Iranians pulled this trick because they know that the present inhabitant of the White House will do nothing about it. Obama has effectively surrendered America’s honour to the muslims in order to avoid insulting them in any way. From his ‘apology tour of 2009’ to his complete abdication of the roll of leader of the western alliance, he has followed his personal agenda of appeasement.
President Trump will not allow America to remain on her back, legs in the air, begging for approval from any muslim.

Harpo you are one lost idiot. And the conservatives treat soldiers better than liberals by a wide margin. Now go throw some out like good old Justin is doing.

Jerry: Iran/Persia had a monarchy for hundreds of years, but a functioning constitutional government for less than a century, when the CIA helped to lead a royal military coup against the sitting government. The Shah was very western, and had widespread support right up to the mid 1970s. Then, especially the urban working class and the rural poor, went through some sort of conservative Shi’ite Islamic conversion and anything that represented the Shah’s government became repugnant.

Didn’t the united States overthrow a democratic government in Iran in the fifties and put in place a monarcy until the seventies similar to Saudi Arabia and the British isn’t it ?? How did that monarcy treat the Iranians ?? Did the united States give saran and mustard gas to Saddam during the Iran Iraq war ?? Wake up ezra

Iran had best not be to cocky, because if Trump is elected those sailors will be home in a heartbeat and Iran may find itself in smoking ruins like it bloody well deserves! Trump just needs to drop one big one right on top of Ayatollah ass holes head! Unlike the present pussy POTUS, Trump won’t fool around.

PTSD is a complex disorder. It should be called PTS injury.

It is caused by traumatic shock, physical and/or psychological, with a physical effect similar to the symptoms of concussion. It varies in severity depending on the nature of the injury.

Of course, there are politics and exploitation in the field of PTS injury treatment because it represents big bucks. But these days, most affected who get immediate trauma care and good rehab care recover fully. Some, of course, never recover because the brain trauma was too severe or the betrayal too badly destroyed the injured’s ability to trust anyone ever again.

Of course it’s a real thing.

Clown (very appropriate name for you), have you ever served in a war, a real war where you face possibly getting you head blown off everyday? I didn’t think so. Ptsd is real. My uncle served for the entire duration of ww 2 in the front lines. He had severe ptsd ( they used to call it shell shock back then) after the war. My mother said he was not the same person and was messed up real bad for a long time. My father also served in that war and I’m sure had some ptsd as he never talked about the war. For you to say ptsd is not real and never to have experienced being in battle is ludicrous, insulting and disrespectful to all who have been to war. If it weren’t for the people who fought in ww2 against Hitler, I dread to think where this world would be today. This war going on now in the middle east, it’s people like you who act like it’s no big deal. Sort of reminds me of how the Viet Nam vets were treated like garbage after they came back from a tour of duty.

Ezra, regarding your theory that they were ordered to stand down, if I may refer you to a reprint of a commentary I read last month by Bob Lonsberry, who shares your opinion:

“The account of two U. S. Navy vessels being seized by the Iranian navy earlier this week seems completely implausible. No part of it makes any sense.

The story is that two river patrol boats – bristling modern-day incarnations of the Vietnam swift boats –were navigating south from Kuwait to Bahrain. At some point, via some means, the two boats, with
their contingent of five sailors each, surrendered to the Iranians.

Two accounts have been offered as to how that happened. The first was that one of the vessels lost
its engine and that they both then drifted into Iranian waters. The other was that the two boats had been
operating fine, but inadvertently navigated into Iranian territory.
Simply put, they got lost. Neither account seems possible.

First off, if one of the boats broke down, and the sailor aboard trained to tend the engine couldn’t fix it,
the other boat would merely take it in tow and they would proceed on their way. That is not a novel
maritime undertaking.

The second scenario – oops, we got lost – is even less likely. It turns out that navigation and navigation
equipment are kind of a high priority for the Navy. Boats don’t get lost. Highly technical navigation
equipment on both boats would have told crew members exactly where they were. And in the unlikely event that both boats lost all electronic navigational equipment, and the compasses lost track of magnetic north, there is the simple fact that sailing from Kuwait to Bahrain pretty much involves nothing more complex than keeping the shore on your starboard side. And should you lose sight of shore, and can remember that the map has safety to the west and danger to the east, you’d think that the position of the sun in the sky or the fact that prevailing winds in the Persian Gulf in the winter are northwesterly, would somehow have allowed our sailors to find the Saudi shoreline instead of Iranian
waters.

And all of that presumes that these two boats were operating alone in the open seas, which they presumably were not. There is, in fact, a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier battle group operating in the Persian
Gulf.

The USS Harry S Truman owns the Persian Gulf these days, and the significant American military presence in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait – lands immediately proximate to the waters where our sailors were operating – makes us the biggest dog on the block. And we’ve got radar and helicopters and airplanes and stuff like that. And if an American vessel breaks down at sea, or strays from course, under those operational conditions, there are a lot of American assets that would both notice the problem and be able to offer relief. Yet no one did. We’re supposed to believe nobody radioed a couple of inexplicably lost boats to ask where they were going? When one of them supposedly broke down, a carrier battle group had no means to come to their assistance?

That makes no sense. It’s completely unbelievable.

So is the apparent conduct of the sailors in the face of a supposed challenge by the Iranian military. If one of the vessels was disabled, as is claimed, and hostile craft are approaching, bringing with them the prospect of capture and captivity, don’t you put all 10 sailors on the able boat, sink the disabled boat, and race the bad guys back to international waters?

From the Iranian video, it looks like two or three bass boats and four guys in mismatched uniforms, with a couple of AK’s, captured two far-larger and better armed American boats, both of which were bristling
with mounted machine guns.

Here’s a fact: When you’re kneeling on the deck of your own boat, with your hands clasped behind your
head, and some guy’s shouting at you in terrorist language, things didn’t go right. And yet, that’s exactly what supposedly happened here. Ten American sailors, successors to Captain James Lawrence, are on their knees next to their unfired guns, in the face of a smaller and less well armed opponent – with little American flags snapping in the breeze.

This is not the stuff of Commodore Perry and Admiral Farragut. And you wonder whose call it was.

How far up the chain of command did they have to go to find the cowardly lion who ordered this genuflection before a bunch of savages? Did this get bounced all the way to the Pentagon, or the Situation Room? Which secretary of what made the decision not to put a squadron of naval aviators above those two boats to keep the camel jockeys at bay?

It is shameful, a worldwide embarrassment for the nation and the Navy.

And it is topped off by an obsequious videotaped apology, and pictures of our sailors, captive in hostile hands, the female with a towel over her head. The President can ignore this. But we can’t. We got pantsed. We got humiliated. We showed either weakness or incompetence. And unfortunately either one only invites aggression against us.

It is inconceivable that you could find 10 Americans willing to surrender themselves and their equipment without a fight. It is not plausible that any young man or woman entering into the naval service would willingly kneel on the deck of a combat-capable ship.

Somebody told them to give up. And that somebody, and the philosophy he represents, will be the death of us."

Sean, idiot and coward. I would love to see you say that to a US serviceman or servicewoman in person. You would be forced to have all your meals through a straw for the foreseeable future, thats if they did not knock your head of your shoulders. Idiot.

Bravo zulu. I will agree that Obama has been just as soft as I was when it comes to military action. The only way to wipe out ISIL is to send in our boys but the legal bills to fight our r eturning vets were just getting out of control. I’ve never been anywhere near a war zone (photo ops excluded) but I don’t think PTSD is really a thing. Our returning vets can’t expect a free ride for ever. Anyway I send 6 jets and considering what I paid for the new ones they better not mess with the resale value.

BZ hits the nail on the head again. There are many examples of Hussein Obama’s hate for the military.
Reducing the size of the military by 10%. Not dealing with Russia on nukes. Firing Generals. Restricting duties of Padres. Care of injured veterans a disgrace. The list goes on and on. His troops must hate him.

The US pres – hussein obama is now and has always been a POS.

I actually saw a group of many US of A soldiers take their rank off in A’stan and stand up at a field meeting and say they supported their brothers and sisters in the military and would do their duty to them to the absolute best of their ability – but would not lift a finger to save hussein obama if he was in danger.

At the same point I watched hussein obama fire a multitude of generals and senior officers when they affirmed to him that they would not fire on American citizens if he ordered them to.

You can Google that info on the second part of my comment – you will simply have to trust me on the first part of my comment.

There is serious concern in some circles that hussein obama will attempt to declare a state emergency and maintain his presidency beyond the end of the second term.

That is why he fired those generals and senior officers – he wanted people he could count on to kill American citizens if they rioted at him maintaining power.

I have always considered him to be a POS on a personal level.

I have always considered the islamic pm of Canada to be even lower than a POS.

Best to all.

Impunity? Barry rewarded his bud Khamenei for Iran’s bad behaviour by dropping sanctions.

B.O. likes nothing more than to humiliate soldiers. One day it is him that will humiliated and punished by the wrath of the one true God, the God of Israel. His dead faux prophet won’t be able to save his sorry butt then. He ordered them to stand down, and that is the key. He set them up so that they could be used to humiliate America. And I’ll bet when he finally bargains, he will give the enemy more arms, and money. B.O. should be hung until dead for treason!
