It's not easy being green, but the Toronto Transit Commission proves it's not very smart either

David MenziesMission Specialist

We all know it's not easy being green, but the TTC proves it's not very smart either.

If you're one of those taxpayers who think that government should spend taxpayer money wisely, then you might be disturbed by some of the vehicle choices the TTC has made in an effort to be environmentally friendly.

Tune in to find out what can happen to your money when green strategies are pursued for optics and PR rather than for tangible, bottom-line results.

Optics over results sums up windmills very nicely too. They never produce even a fraction of the rated output and not one country has turned off a traditional power plant due to wind (even Windmill crazy Denmark who have the highest electricity rates in Europe). We have the technology to go zero carbon emissions power generation… nuclear. Ontario and NB have a proven safety record in this area and 4th generation reactors (being researched in China and by those crazy hippies at Berkeley) are light years ahead of the 2nd generation reactors in play now.

Andrew Stephenseon: “Trudeau is immediately responsible for everything even though he’s not even PM yet. That seems consistent.”

Ignorance must be bliss… Justin Trudeau merely becoming elected rocked the markets in the West with uncertainty and now no one is going to have any faith to invest. All the scandals around the election itself centred around Tides, and the Ontario liberals has also made our government appear corrupt and weak to the world so badly, even ISIS was celebrating Trudeau’s victory.

Sorry, but if you cannot see how reckless Justin Trudeau is just with his presence, then I will feel very sorry for you when he begins to make some real mistakes after tomorrow…

Andrew where do you get the 4 years prior from , they started the year Harper got in.

Andrew you say you get paid for using your mind, then use it, plants take at least a year or more to build, they are looking at the future when they cancel them. Why does the logic of that elude you?

Andrew try and keep up, TransAlta cited the NDP when they explained why they would not build the gas plant. ANd when did Ezra say everything was the NDP’s fault? Please show me that. I recently spoke to the regional manager from shell he confirms there will be little investment due to the NDP budget and our new anti pipeline advisor Gerald Butts. I will take his word about his own company over yours.

“Andrew those subsidies were planned before that. Sorry but have some perspective”

Sorry, Harper is innocent for things the Liberals apparently did upwards of four years prior? Ah, but according to Ezra, everything happening in Alberta is Notley’s fault, even though she’s been premier for but six months. Ah, and apparently Trudeau is immediately responsible for everything even though he’s not even PM yet. That seems consistent.

Andrew my city did not fall for the green BS.

Andrew those subsidies were planned before that. Sorry but have some perspective, that ongoing lawsuit by the veterans that you left wingers keep attacking Harper with was also launched against the liberal government , but if you hate reality then that is your problem. I notice you guys are absent form the INFIDEL stabbing story of course.

We should point out that the only reason the TTC purchased the hybrid buses was because the Federal government offered heavy subsidies for them, at least 2006-2009 when the majority were purchased. There is no green scam here – unless you believe that the first term Harper government was hijacked by radical environmentalists – just cold, hard cash.

Municipal buses seem to be designed and stuck together by zombie rent seekers at the behest of inept provincial politicians and lefty municipal bureaucrats. Even the no green, no frills, ordinary contraptions which are labeled buses are not anything to write home about. Perhaps what TO needs are more examples of that thing that runs empty from downtown to the airport.

And no one gets fired. And the TTC will do this again and again and again.

And the taxpayers keep get reamed.

Wonder how Ontario’s second (or is it third) credit downgrade is doing?

Oh wait, that’s an Orville Redenbacher (Wynne) issue.

Stupid TTC drank the green Kool-Aid. Suckers!!
