Judging by #Duffy tweets, media already bored by "trial of the year"

Judging by their tweets about the Mike Duffy trial in Ottawa, reporters have quickly gone from obsessed to bored.

From discussing which "bilingual" hashtag to use to tweeting banal details, rather than the details of the proceedings, it seems some reporters have had difficulty being engaged in the trial they desperately want all of us to think of as the most important thing ever.

The trial began with a media frenzy, but by the time it's over weeks from now, most of these reporters will have long ago moved onto the next "big" thing.

Are you already tired of the Mike Duffy trial?

Jason Fekete, Ottawa Citizen is a prime example with the Garlic Eggroll piece. He was called out on twitter for being what he is, a $hitty journalist. then again the OC is a $hitty paper

These “Journalists” all in a frenzy, anxiously awaiting the hanging of one who used to be one of their own. Making it to the trough has its pitfalls if you don’t line up straight and you can count on your former colleagues in media party world to be there to grind you into the barnyard muck when you slip and fall.

In my last days before retiring from Veterans Affairs it was spelled to clearly to us that on Harper’s watch if anyone gave the CBC a bone to chew….they would be thrown under the bus.

I do not blame Harper for that stressful working condition….I blame the CBC.

Of all the forms of “my tax dollar at work” the ones I resent most are the ones where people are paid to play GOTTCHA over every word you utter.

@richard Wakefield… "Wynne’s Liberals have stolen 10 BILLION from Ontarians and not one charge! " RIGHT ON! and Duffy is further distraction from this and the OPP scandal…remember that a few days ago…and Levin…none of this matters?

Yes, I am greatly fatigued by the media show! I did notice after only one day, some of the mainstream media were not commenting as volubly on the second day. I surmised that the reason for this was that the first Crown witness was doing more to help the defence than the Crown. This is NOT what the media want, so they “drew in their horns” somewhat!

Yawn() – is it over yet? Best thing I saw this am was CBC Rosemary Barton being mocked for not detailing if guy in Sens jersey was Home or Away!

The corporate media knows the more they talk about it the more the real media will start highlighting the Liberal Senators’ corruptions. A definite strategic withdrawal.

Not at all. This was a non-event from the beginning. Duffy will be found not guilty because he broke no laws. The Senate may get some revamping of their rules, but that’s it.

Wynne’s Liberals have stolen 10 BILLION from Ontarians and not one charge!

Out in the great unwashed no – one cares about this issue despite PPG hysteria

Duffy overkill will desensitize and bore even the most rabid Conservative hater. Hopefully. Or it may simply saturate with poison the whole populace.

I was bored before it got started. But one thing I am happy to see and that is Senator Brazeau showing up to show solidarity with Duffy against this wrongful lynching.

He has it even worse than Duffy, being charged with parked while a drunken Indian and all that race-laced hate bias.

Awful how people condemn anyone accused by corrupt bureaucracy.

Maybe if they get bored and leave then the number of articles and videos on the Duffy trial will be reduced from the hundreds to maybe 50 or 60 only.
