Justin Trudeau's new "middle class" ad ignores demographic trends, economic reality

Marissa SemkiwRebel Commentator

Justin Trudeau and the Liberal Party released in a new ad earlier this week called “A better plan for Canada’s middle class.”

In this commercial, he paints a picture of a bleak future for middle class Canadians under Stephen Harper.

But to make this specious argument, he leaves out some fundamental facts.

So let's take a look at a few basic statistics to see what Canada's future really holds, before deciding who we should put in charge of shaping it.

What is middle class? Think back to what the great champagne socialist and leader of the NDP Preplexa MacDonough once said: a man making $50K a year with a stay-at-home wife was rich while a husband and wife both working and both making $25K were working class. God help Canada.

Personally, I think that ad will work against him, not just because of his greasy smile and smarmy demeanor, but because most kids today don’t think there will be any OAS, when they need it anyway. I don’t think that point is any skin off their noses.
I read on some liberal blog that Harper is losing the senior vote to Justin. I don’t buy it. I think most people realize that aside from good investment, another 2 years could make a difference,so that our kids might actually get some OAS when they need it. He gets a fail on that tac as far as I am concerned.

NICOLE BEAUDOIN , I am happy to read you made the transition from low or no information voter to a fully enlightened, Conservative voter. It is also great to know you made the transformation via the former SunNewsNetwork. The consortium media party, in conjunction with the Liberal run CRTC may have succeeded in artfully, strangling the network, however it is good to to know SunNews’ efforts were not in vain.

TheRebel.media will have to carry the torch of Truth, Freedom, and moral virtue from here. Now, as a disciple, you should try to convert others, politely, to fight the collective Left in this country with their vote. Federally, provincially, as well as municipally.
With Truth, comes Freedom!

I think that it was Mark Levin who said that we should stop talking about “classes”. Let’s say that one person has an annual gross income of $60,000.00 and a second person makes $60,000.05 a year Is the first person a good, middle-class human being while the second is an evil, rich scum-bag? Is there any guarantee that person #1 and person #2 won’t have fluctuating incomes at various points in their lives? The point is that we are all INDIVIDUALS, not members of some “class” that we’re stuck in for the rest of our lives. When will politicians stop trying to divide us?

say anything and throw anything and some will stick, enough to win, and once in, all will be forgotten…

I’m sure as well, Jake, that these unions are working pretty hard to convince him that he must vote liberal. If we could take away mandatory union membership, the union bosses would be the ones to lose their jobs. These unions are political, and their mandate is to try to affect political policy, so how can it even be legal to be forced to pay union dues? A guy in Illinois is taking the union affecting his job to court over it.

I really love the photo selected for your video – just look at that Trudeau condescending sneer! Reminds me so very much of his dad! Great rebuttal of JT’s new ad – the man has no clue about costs of OAS and the sustainability of CPP, of the demographics of an aging population, etc.! Mr. Harper announced these changes in 2012, and it has taken Mr. Trudeau and the Liberals 3 years to come up with a response to the changes!

I was working with a kid last week ( 20 something ) he said times are tough, and the middle class has disappeared. I responded by telling him that by being in a trade union, and making 37$ hour, he was the middle class. We were driving in his brand new truck at the time, he owns his own house, and has a stay at home wife, but the MSM, and lefty’s have him convinced he’s below the poverty line. The sense of entitlement coupled with a brain washing MSM has a younger generation totally confused. As a hard working union iron worker, hunter, gun owner, and Christian with family values, this kid should be a conservative supporter for sure, but the media has him believing Harper is the root of evil. I have this kid trying to sell me on Trudeau, legalizing pot, and saving the middle class, Trudeau’s going to save this country the kid tells me. I didn’t know there was anything wrong with it :)

Brad Wall rocks. I wish he would consider federal politics.

What did we expect to come out of the mouth of this guy?
He is the King of lies and false words. He is ACTING, that is what he does best. Actors spew words and ideas written for them by the script writers, they don’t use their own brains and thoughts when speaking, and they don’t have to understand what exactly they words mean. They just memorize the script and then spew.
Actors don’t live in the real world, they spend their time in a make believe world and leave real life to everyone else, the outcome of the script they read is not their responsibility.
I used to call this guy Trudope, but some one else calls him STONER, I like that name, it’s more suited to this idiot.

@ Liza – “Alberta needs to make some big moves fast”

You have that one right!! Ralph! We need you! I have a boot with Prentice’s name on it. Pointy steal toed boot. I wonder if we can trade Alberta’s PM & cabinet for Brad Wall & his cabinet . . .
commented 2015-04-06 13:12:23 -0400
@ Pamela Bridger – You should also note in your post that the opposition parties threatened to over-throw the government with a coalition if Harper did not do the stimulus spending. Now, of course, the Liberals and NDP that initially demanded Harper pull out this debt to finance the stimulus spending are now, like the jackals they are, attacking Harper for incurring that same debt … the bloody hypocrites.

As for this “investment” program. Can you provide a link to what you are referring to please. I keep up on politics fairly well and I am not sure to what you are referring. I may very well have missed the news of this “investment” program and I would like to brush-up on it. Thanks ever so much in advance.

This is kind of scary, (Alberta needs to make some big moves fast)
http://www.fraserinstitute.org/uploadedFiles/fraser-ca/Content/research-news/research/publications/canadian-government-debt-2014.pdf
All provinces, except Saskatchewan, have total liabilities as a percentage
of GDP in excess of 150 percent.
If Quebec or Nova Scotia taxed 100 percent of all income , it would
still take them more than two and a half years to pay off all their debt and
cover all program obligations. Provinces that contribute the lions
share of federal revenues are responsible for a disproportionally
large amount of federal indebtedness. In Alberta, taxpayers on a per-capita
basis face the largest total liabilities (all government levels included) at
$147,641, followed by Ontario taxpayers ($121,117) and Quebec taxpayers
($119,354). Taxpayers in Prince Edward Island face the smallest total all-government
liabilities per capita at $89,736, followed by Manitoba ($92,708) and
New Brunswick ($93,809).

Unfortunately, every country carries national debt. Compared to the U.S. our debt is per capita is considerably lower and quite reasonable.
Canada per head is 17000.00 and change
U.S per head is 59,000.00 and change.
Which number do you think we would be closer to if Trudeau or Mulcair got in?
We will have a balanced budget. If I;m wrong about that it will be damn close.
Means we have stopped the bleeding, by controlling spending.
Our economies is one of the best in the world, despite provinces individually screwing up big time.
I wouldn’t trust Trudeau to count tickets at a high school play. He’d have us racked up so fast it wouldn’t even be funny.
commented 2015-04-06 12:10:14 -0400
Pamela, once Trudeau turned control of our central bank over to Goldman Sachs we’ve been paying unnecessary interest which is compounded. The system is geared so you can never get out of debt. Canada has paid out over $1,2Trillion in interested charges from all levels of government since 1974. That’s money that could have been used for health care, education and defense. The banksters have us by our essentials.
If you look at the G7 countries you’ll see they are all broke and have the same banking cabal financing their fiscal planning. If you look at the G20 it is the same except it’s the vast majority of the countries use the same bankster cabal. In the Middle East the countries which had public central banks were Libya, Tunisia, Iran and Syria. Come to your own conclusions on this. Ukraine didn’t want to borrow money from the European cabal.
We don’t know the terms of the agreement because the government won’t talk about it and tries to keep this arrangement as quiet as possible. Check for yourself by asking your MP for in-depth information about the arrangement with Goldman Sachs – length of the agreement, interest rate , termination cost, etc..

Since 2008 according to the Cdn Taxpayer website, the PC gov’t has racked up over $200B in debt on top of the $416B inherited from previous Liberal and PC governments. While a good portion is interest, they haven’t done anything to stop the rapid speed at which the debt grows, in fact, doubling down after the last crash by implementing an “investment” program which only put us farther into debt. So who really looks after the little guy? No one from what I can see!

But … but, people! He has gorgeous hair! How can that not make him a good PM? He has to look good when kissing the feet of Xi Jinping, the Chinese dictator. So what if he doesn’t know much of anything, Gerald Butts and Omar Alghabra, his puppet masters, know lots. Put your trust in Justin! … … excuse me while I go vomit.

Stoner trudeau is a complete idiot. When Stoner spews this crap, it’s an ad, not an attack ad. When the Conservatives run ads of Stoner doing and saying stupid shit, it’s not a “disclosure ad”, it’s an attack ad. Stoner speaks slow and creepy. It’s difficult to even watch out takes of his garbage.

So the question becomes, what is Stoner’s plan? Right. He has none. What’s more apparent is that Stoner is going to get the beating of his life in October 2015. Can’t wait for more vids of Stoner rolling down stairs.

This ad is basically ‘creepy’…the speaker is creepy as he tries to look friendly but conveys arrogance, condescension and worse still, the message is dishonest…pause it and see the con-man. Cleverly they don’t let us see too much of his face…I don’t know what kind of drama teacher he was but he needs to learn to act first…as usual his is really bad acting…that is why so many have trouble listening to him…he is always trying to act because he doesn’t know how to be real, and then add to that, is the fact that he doesn’t know what he is talking about…so he has to try to act as though he does…and because the acting is so b-movie, at best, it becomes embarrassing to watch…if it doesn’t make the hairs on your arms stand at attention…Frankly, ladies, would you like to meet someone in a dark alley who talks to you like he does in this ad? He just has that look that he is hiding something (the facts), …and…that condescending smile……it is so phoney. Frankly, I prefer Mulcair who is intentionally nasty because at least he is really who he is…but of course Harper is the only straight-shooting statesman we have had for years…what a sickening thought that we might lose him to a bimbo.

Great reporting Marissa !!!! Thank you for exposing, on yet another issue, how little this idiot knows, and on how well he lies. Do you think he learned the latter in the only real job he ever held: a substitute part-time drama teacher for rich kids in Vancouver?
Before I made the “mistake” one night of turning the channel to SunNews Media I consistently voted Liberal (please don’t spit on me!). I had been a staunch supporter of PET, even having worked in the Prime Minister’s Office when the constitution was brought back to Canada, in 1981.
I was concerned when Marc Garneau was dumped from the leadership race, because I thought he had more presence and more intelligence than the lightweight wannabee-American-turned-Canadian-turned American before him, and the cute-boy Trudeau Jr., but I thought I could trust the Liberal backbenchers, so stuck with the Federal Liberals. But, thanks to SunNews bauble-head Trudeau’s stupidity was made obvious to me. To think he can lie and “act” as he does… And he has young children and a stay-at-home wife, who BELIEVE in him!!!
Marissa, thank you. Keep up the good work. I am posting your video on my FB page, hoping, PRAYING, others fallen Canadians will sign up to theRebel.media.com.

Very definitely Justin has no idea what is middle class. Neither he nor his father ever had to earn their living. I understand he did some work as a substitute drama teacher. which means:
1. he was never scheduled to go to work…he worked on call.
2. he could decide if he was going to accept the job or stay in bed.
3. he would choose the school where he might go to work.
4. no accountability for students’ progress.
5. no report cards or parent -teacher interviews.
6. no lesson plans to prepare; and no yearly and unit plans to show to the principal or superintendent.
All of the above are part of the duties of a scheduled teacher who is on contract.
Did he work for a living?
Oh yes , taking drama at university, is easy. It is considered the “fun” way.

We shouldn’t be upset at what Fluffy said because that implies he is capable of better which we all know he is not. This is all show and put out for the presstitutes as their talking points.
The only thing he brings to the table for the Lieberals is his father’s name. Unfortunately for Canada, like his father he brings: a total lack of understanding about this country; no respect for its borders, languages and culture; a pro communist (read anti-business) agenda; and such ineptness that will take decades to undue the mess leaves behind.
How I dread his winning.

The only moral or ethical position that the Liberals have anymore is that governance is their divine right in Canada, and the fact that they are not currently the ruling power is a travesty of justice. They may have been a Centrist Party at one time, but under the Trudeaus, they’ve become morally bankrupt. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Justine Trudeau is dumber that a sack of door knobs (hammers, rocks, horse turds, fill in the blank with what ever inanimate object you like). The best possible outcome would be if he lost his own seat in the upcoming election. I would love to watch that happen; wouldn’t that be fun? The worst possible outcome (shudder…), oh, I don’t want to go there… I can’t even say it. But we should be very afraid. By the way, I’m a baby boomer. I’m retired and living on nothing but OAS and CPP. It comes to about $1680 per month for me. It may not be much but it’s all that I need. I no longer have the expense of trying to convince everyone (especially the girls) how cool I am. That’s really expensive, and I don’t have taxpayers or the Liberal Party to help fund it.
