Justin Trudeau owes Michelle Rempel and all women an apology — because it’s 2015

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

We’re all aware of the effusive praise Trudeau won for his easy response to the question of why it was so important to achieve gender parity in his cabinet - “Because it’s 2015”.

I pointed out at the time though why the flippant response shouldn’t have been the last word on the issue but after a disturbing episode with Conservative MP Michelle Rempel yesterday, I think it’s fair for us to ask, how does Trudeau really feel about women?

To his credit, Minister McCallum has apologized for his patronizing remark but Trudeau, has not.

Will the Media Party do the right thing and question the Prime Minister on why he felt it was okay to smirk and laugh throughout this event?

So much for setting a different tone in the House of Commons.

MacCallum slurs his words, I wonder if he has had a stroke because he doesn’t seem like he is in his right mind. But then again, I don’t think any Liberal is in their right mind these days. What a bunch of losers, that are being encouraged to put down women in our parliament. I believe Junior has sold his soul to the devil. Let’s pray that God will take him down sooner, rather than later.

What do you expect from a part time drama teacher! He posed for VOGUE MAGAZINE AS SOON as he got in!! He is full of himself! JOHN MCCALLUM is so old. He sounds like he is half in the grave already. Dion looks like he has one leg in the grave also! These grandpa’s are all from JT father’s cabinet! It is time they retire!
commented 2015-12-13 20:53:41 -0500
I believe it is time for John McCallum to retire, he looks and sounds much older than his chronological age of 65. JT on the other hand comes off as an ingnorant, spoiled brat, which should really not come as a surprise to anyone.

Uh, Nathan sweetie, “left” and “credibility” should never be used in the same sentence as they are mutually exclusive entities.

Who would have thought (well, besides anyone who wasn’t born after 2006) that “Canada is Back!” would mean that juvenile twits would be running the country?
commented 2015-12-13 06:18:21 -0500
Sorry … what’s the problem?

Why don’t you wait until Trudeau actually makes a mistake so you have some credibility left?

What? I think many would conclude Ivision is a Conservative insider, who was fed info for several of his National Post columns from Harper’s PMO, to float trial balloons to the public.

The guy kissed a bride for pete’s sake. Not only does he think he is THE gift to women, he only shows a bit of respect when votes are on the line. I think he is slime.

Mc J. is good for nothing drunk.

Justin uses women to further his agenda, but actually has nothing but contempt for them, or he never would have said, " I’m laughing at you", when confronted by Remple. He just proved it.
Keep showing us your true colours Justin.

OMG, what an idiotic post. There is not ONE single indication that gender was a motivator here at ALL….it’s just Michelle Rempel being a typical idiot by making an issue out of nothing…as usual.

No one has anything to apologize for except Rempel…for being a conservative moron.
commented 2015-12-12 11:53:08 -0500
It just goes to show that JT’s bid to make his cabinet gender-neutral is a failure. Too many of his appointees were given their posts based only on their ideology rather than their qualifications.

Justin owes ALL Canadians an apology for being so dumb.

Canada’s most juvenile naïve PM – never happened before and will never happen again. Enjoy Justin, but you do owe us an apology.

Brian Lilley owes Canada an apology because he’s still living in 1975.

I recall John Ivison (National Post) saying on CTV Question Period that Harper “never retracts, never apologizes, and never explains.”

And your point is?

That piece of trash ivison was a hater from day one.

SUNNY TIMES as we welcome Syrian refugees??? Keep it up and it’s going to be SUNNI times.

Please!

Not refugees – they are the new and never ending line of welfare recipients – nothing more.

@ Don Cloud
Well it’s clear what YOU think of women. The question here is more about whether the Prime Minister agrees.
commented 2015-12-12 08:52:56 -0500
Even McCallum’s ‘apology’ was insincere, a deflection rather than a proper apology. Watching the video it’s clear he was calling on Rempel to appear sunnier and more pleasing, in a way he would never have addressed a man.

It’s also clear that his meaning was plain to the members from the Liberal benches, including the Prime Minister we’re told, laughing like hyenas at McCallum’s remark. Unless, that is, they’d have us believe the notion of MPs feeling ‘sunny’ about the arrival of these migrants to be a laughing matter.

It is a fair question, “how does Trudeau really feel about women?”
The smile on his face says a lot.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was in the House of Commons when this exchange took place. The Rebel.media Party asked the question:
“Will the Media Party do the right thing and question the Prime Minister on why he felt it was okay to smirk and laugh throughout this event?”

Way to go Michelle!
Justin just keep on being you.

I think Mr. Harper owes an apology to his constituents (Calgary – Heritage riding) for not showing up for work this week.
He missed all 4 Question Periods.

The liberal boss is a dizzy muppet who can’t put two thoughts together and come up with a coherent sentence unless someone tells him what to say and he rehearses in front of a mirror. Michelle Rempel is far more intelligent than Trudeau will ever be.
commented 2015-12-11 23:38:06 -0500
Maybe Michelle should have thrown the ball back into MacCallum’s court & said maybe I don’t look cheerful, but at least I’m sober.
commented 2015-12-11 23:32:23 -0500
For the record, the fact is that more Canadians voted for Michelle Rempel than Justin Trudeau.

That’s what women should do! Smile and bring coffee. What a creepy crawler.
