Justin Trudeau's "repugnant" speech distorts history, ignores statistics -- and insults Canadians

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

In a speech Monday night, Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau said that those who disagree with him on matters like immigration, assimilation and multiculturalism are bigots.

I take issue with a great deal of what Trudeau told the McGill Alumni Association, particularly his repugnant comparison of Canada's anti-Semitic immigration policies circa WWII, to the situation Muslim immigrants face today.

How can he possibly equate asking Muslim women to show their faces during citizenship ceremonies, to shipping Jewish refugees back to Europe and to almost certain death?

Justin Trudeau needs a history lesson -- not to mention a course in statistics.

He simply doesn't have the facts when it comes to Canadian immigration policy, or history.

Says the repugnant little silver spooned camp counselling bigot. Never in all my years have I seen someone so totally ill equipped to be a leader of a party let alone a country.

Since when did our real history or common sense matter to the Liberals or any of the left wing group trying to live their self-centered lives at the expense of other Canadians? They are very easy to pick out if you simply listen for the name-calling once common sense and/or facts interferes with their self righteousness or fabricated history.

Justin is a complete fool. He may fool some of the people but not all the people. His nice hair will not bring him the “PRIME MINISTER” title. People will see that he is not smart enough to lead this Country. In time many will realize that.

Brian Lilley seems to have humbled quite a bit…

Justin Trudeau on the other hand has apparently learned nothing…

Trudeau isn’t all that bright but after listening to the stats re the huge increase of immigrants under the Conservatives I must question the sanity of the Conservatives in allowing countries with deplorable women’s right to immigrate here. Where are the boundaries and control of foreign cultures that are immiscible within the Canadian culture. Again. Trudeau is a complete idiot but he didn’t write the Canadian handbook of immigration for votes.

Quite frankly, and I dont give a rats ass what liberals think, we should not allow their barbaric medieval religion into our country.
commented 2015-03-11 10:15:58 -0400
It is as insulting as it is proof that he is unqualified to be PM, period.

One of the posters here has been calling Justin “le Bebe” which I think is fitting on a number of levels. He’s basically an empty suit – or a full diaper – with hair into which the Liberal Party backroom brain trust is pouring all sorts of toxic nonsense in a desperate bid to win the next election. True, le Bebe, sometimes comes up with some of his own nonsense but its all in the same vein. It seems to me like the name of the game is to capture the jihadist vote, the herd-journalist vote, the handout-seeking vote, the the tinfoil hat vote, the disgruntled and aggrieved vote – those would seem to be the major constituencies that they are targeting.

Phillip Brown – any of those combinations seems to fit. I like the last one in particular. ;)

Every time someone disagrees with a Liberal they are judged, tried and convicted in the court of Political Correctness and hung with the bigot or racist label. Why? Because it works. Because there are enough stupid people willing to listen to their claptrap instead of thinking for themselves. Because it is easier to follow the herd than TO BE HEARD and stand against empty-headed, cue-card-reading, media-trained buffoons like Trudeau Jr. The fact is every time this guy speaks, the IQ level in Canada falls perceptibly as people shut their brains off in order to agree with him. The problem is that when he stops speaking, many forget to turn ON their brains again and realize that they were just brainwashed by a pretty boy sock-puppet, and not a man of real principles or real depth.
His father, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, was a genuine S.O.B. and you could (and many did) justifiably loathe his arrogance and condescension towards the people he ostensibly led. But he was sincere and knowledgeable, even as he was wrong morally and economically; driving Canada to the debt hole we still have not dug ourselves out of. But Justin has none of that and what is really scary is that if his relatively smart father could nearly bankrupt and ruin Canada, can you imagine what his far less intelligent could offspring do?
If his remarks are any indication, we may well have a Canadian-based Boko Haram or ISIS here under his watch…and he’d defend it as ‘their right’ to their culture. But culture and faith must be compatible with our values of peaceful co-existence and freedom. And in this country, it means we must see your damn face for things like driver’s licenses and citizenship ceremonies. If your faith is so warped that this is NOT permitted, then you really need to go back to where you came from.
Fortunately most Moslems in Canada are not that crazy about hiding their faces. They partake in our country and our freedoms as peaceful and fully-engaged citizens. But if a tiny minority says ‘no that’s not our way’ then they need to evaluate, for themselves, if this is the country they should or want to be part of .
Justin Trudeau would say ‘change our society to suit them.’ Canadians, of all faiths and backgrounds, justifiably should say to him, in turn, ‘grow a spine.’ And if his father were here, I’m sure even he would tell him to ‘just grow the heck up.’

I think Brian Lilley misses the distinction that needs to be made between “Jews” and “Muslims” as Justin Trudeau used the terms. (Trudeau is making a false analogy. This is a fallacy) When Canada refused “Jews” during WWII they refused them on an ethnic basis, regardless of how “Jewish” (Secular, Orthdox, Ultra-Orthodox) they were. Of course, “Muslim” has never been an ethnic term.

JR, one last thing. Keep in mind that media agents only roast their friends. Controversy and critique sells but no one at therebel would ever truly wish Amanda Lang any real harm.

It’s just show – or entertainment news – business. I’m certain Lang gets that.
commented 2015-03-11 00:17:21 -0400
Listen, JR. Men are idiots, and I say that in all kindness. They make inappropriate jokes all the time. Their biggest thrill is when it upsets us. The video may have been a little off colour but the whole piece was a joke. It was light-hearted satire. No one took it seriously.

It was in the spirit of light-heartedness that I made my (pun unavoidable) side comments not about the video which, as you will recall, I haven’t viewed, but in reference to my comment that directly preceded each bracketed comment. Those “pun unavoidable” comments were intended as a joking reference to the unintentional sexual innuendo of my posts ending with “… women get ahead”. If that’s not obvious … well …

I took a light-hearted approach to a somewhat off-colour roast of Amanda Lang because I find it is better to give as good as we get, by association alone, being women.

You want to see a real pro take really offensive hits, check out Gilbert Gottfried’s roast of Joan Rivers on youtube. And keep in mind it was all friendly fire.
commented 2015-03-10 23:35:46 -0400
It sounded to me like when you said “isn’t that still the main way women get ahead,” and your couple of “pun unavoidable” remarks, like you were referring to the video in question, not to having a thick skin. But I concede I may have misread you there. I read your initial response as a defense of The Rebel, but it was not. I see now that wasn’t your intent.

I agree that women face sexual harassment. I expressed my agreement several comments below, and like you I await the Ontario commission’s findings.

Maybe we’re more on the same page than I thought.

I’m still repulsed by the video The Rebel thought was appropriate to use in its purported advice post.
commented 2015-03-10 23:34:37 -0400
Great report, Brian! But if we can all agree that the facts do not support the spin Trudeau has put out, why have the main stream media ALL reported it as fact? If you watched CBC, CTV or Global tonight, you came away with the idea that immigration has been all but cancelled under Harper, when the opposite is true. The media has become more than the message, they are your only message. Keep up the good work Rebel.
commented 2015-03-10 23:24:07 -0400
JR … so?

Do you not think Lang has got where she is by developing more of a thick skin than to be wounded by such an insult? Saying she’s heard worse means she’s tough. Do you think calling a woman tough is … what was your descriptor? Oh yeah … “Horrible”?

Except you didn’t say what I said was horrible. You said I was horrible for what you twisted my words to mean. It was you who slurred me, not me Amanda.

And do you have your head so deeply burrowed in sand that you do not know what women face, day in and day out, from workplace sexual harrassment? The fact is, most women compromise just to keep their jobs.

I was a witness in a case in which a director followed a co-worker to her home after work one day, forced entry to her home and molested her minor child. She told the investigation she didn’t report it because she didn’t want to lose her job. She was a single mother in a management position. She took the abuse to get ahead.

So, again, JR, where exactly did I say Lang should accept debasement?

That’s right. I didn’t. I said I think she’s a big girl and can take it. And I admitted the ugly truth you want to deny. That women accept sexual debasement all the time just so we can feed our children.

Next time, read to understand instead of assuming; and think before you attack.
commented 2015-03-10 22:16:11 -0400
Joan, you said in reference to the video:

“I’m sure Lang has heard worse and if we are honest, isn’t that still the main way women get ahead.? (Pun unavoidable.).”
commented 2015-03-10 22:13:44 -0400
JR, where did I ever say that a woman like Amanda Lang should expect to tolerate sexual debasement?

Did you read what I wrote or just assume you know what and how I think, that I represent some stereotype you hate, and decide to attack me. There is a word for that kind of bias.

Bigotry.

If you want a real conversation with people, you must actually attend to what we say. Try it. You might enjoy it.

Cheers!

Well said and typical of Liberals. They use fear to create hate.
commented 2015-03-10 22:06:23 -0400
The video and reference to Franco’s character implies that Amanda Lang should learn to debase herself sexually if she wants professional success. That’s not misogynistic?
commented 2015-03-10 22:02:44 -0400
JR you are a trouble making troll. Ezra should ban you. The definition you plainly ignore is
“hatred, dislike, or mistrust of women, or prejudice against women.” Franco’s shtick has nothing to do with it.
commented 2015-03-10 20:36:08 -0400
Philip: Perhaps you don’t know the definition of misogyny? Google it.

Joan: You don’t believe me? Just what do you think James Franco was acting out there? Sorry the Youtube link doesn’t work for you, it works fine for me on more than one network. Look up the movie on Netflix if you have it. Or watch a snippet of the infamous scene here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJu0KYd5-_M (0:12).

I’m glad the committee has been struck. I agree that it is doing important work. You’ve sure come around, though, from saying you want to see equality in the workplace to saying that a woman like Amanda Lang should expect to tolerate sexual debasement and accepting that this is the main way women get ahead.
commented 2015-03-10 20:06:10 -0400
JR, my end has no problem. And, yes, you did describe it in words. Graphically. Which is why I tried to view it for myself. Because – forgive me – I don’t believe you.

And JR, that so few women hold executive positions and when they do, make far less than men do because to get the big jobs and to get the high pay requires going down, literally and/or figuratively, is exactly why my Conservative Party MP, Laurie Scott, demanded the premier strike the committee on sexual violence and sex harrassment in the workplace.

Conservatives oppose sexual violence and harrassment in the workplace that includes, commonly, demands for sexual favour. You’ll see when the committee reports.
commented 2015-03-10 20:00:11 -0400
JR the clip in #7 has nothing to do with misogyny. I think you are confused. You in fact though, a troll.
commented 2015-03-10 19:56:20 -0400
Thanks, Ashley!! (-:
commented 2015-03-10 19:50:59 -0400
Joan, we don’t think your horrible, J R go back to the CBC where they can’t have a decent conversation without including the words Hate and Harper in the same sentence.J R is here only to troll and rile people up.
commented 2015-03-10 18:59:10 -0400
Joan: The video works just fine in Canada, the problem is on your end. It’s from the movie The Interview. Even if you can’t manage to watch the Youtube clip, it’s pretty clear what the James Franco character is acting out. Plus I described it in writing. You should be asking what the staff of this fine website were thinking when they decided to illustrate their post with the “filth” we’re discussing.

You can’t really think there’s an equivalence between striking a committee to address problems of sexual harassment in the workplace, and assuming that the main way women get to the top is by submitting themselves to sexual acts. I can only assume you’re being stubborn.

I’m no kind of Liberal, thanks for asking.
commented 2015-03-10 18:47:11 -0400
JR, oh come on. That video link you provided is not available in Canada. What is so awful about its content that it is banned and, more to the point, what are you doing watching such filth as you claim is on it let alone trying to post it here to try to discredit therebel with allegations of vice we cannot confirm?

Do you think Kathleen Wynne has convened a special committee to investigate sexual violence in society and sexual harrassment in the workplace because, according to you, women never run into that sort of challenge?

What on earth sort of Liberal are you, anyway?
commented 2015-03-10 18:45:24 -0400
Justin Trudeau is not only a liar, I believe he is also an awful, horrible person! But that’s just my opinion, which of course is subjective. Feel free to disagree.

PS: JR, your presence here is somewhat confusing. It’s nice that you just want to help us all out, but so far your comments don’t seem to have enlightened me in any way. Of course, I can’t speak for anyone else, but assuming the same for them, how does that help? Oh, maybe the help is coming down the road a bit. I could sure use some financial advice. Do you have any of that?
commented 2015-03-10 18:33:40 -0400
Its the OLD Liberal Party again. All about throwing out the racist card to those that disagree with their failed policies.
