Justin Trudeau's right: Liberals never "have to worry" about "tough questions"

Rebel Staff

At a campaign stop, Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau joked about taking questions from the media, telling the crowd, "Please. Let's be respectful even if they ask tough questions. We're Liberals so we don't have to worry about that."

There are two ways to interpret Trudeau's comments.

Did he mean Liberals don't have to worry about being asked tough questions?

Or did he mean they don't have to worry about being respectful...?

Paul,

Sorry, but I don’t fall for the conservative fear mongering and hyperbole that consumes your life.

PET2 says enough stupid stuff on his own so the Mediaparty doesn’t want him to make them look any more stupid than they are…

BTW: Jimmy…you’ll be okay with Justin giving your rights away and that Sharia Law will make all life decisions for you? As for thinking voting for Trudeau you won’t “risk everything”…You obviously have little to lose.

History will prove that Obama has been the worst President the U.S. has ever had…
commented 2015-08-24 17:04:19 -0400
Forget it Yvette, Jimmy’s in too deep when it comes to the left’s propaganda, after all the real numbers would only
prove what a loser Obama is, last I heard 49,000,000 on welfare and 93,000,000 unemployed and as for Obamacare,
why not ask some one who has to pay for Obamacare what they really think of it…

Yvette,

Clearly you didn’t read the undisputable facts in those links.

As for why I would vote for someone other than Harper? I don’t live in constant fear like you do and I don’t think a vote for Trudeau will “risk everything”. This may scare you, but some of the things you fear, I want for Canada.
commented 2015-08-23 22:02:49 -0400
Jimmy: You’re happy with Obama….really! When Bush took office the debt was about $5.6T & when he left it was about $10.6T so he increased it by about $5T. On the other hand, the debt is now almost $19T & Obama still has another year to go, so do the math. There are more people on food stamps….the unemployment figures are a sham, because they don’t take into consideration all those who have quit looking……economists say it’s more like 14%…….Obamacare is a failure……..there is more polarization between blacks & whites now than ever before & the list goes on. As for an experienced leader versus an inexperienced leader, I think our PM has done a pretty good job so why would you want to take a chance on the inexperienced Trudeau? Why take that chance & risk everything (just because you are not a conservative). Common sense dictates everything & there is no wavering in my mind as to whom my vote will go to. Obama’s mantra was " time for change" & America is so changed now, you can’t even recognize it. Obama has done great harm to the US & it’s going to be very tough for the next President, hopefully a Republican, to repair the damage.

Dana,

With some exceptions – I am pretty happy with Obama. If I have any real complaint – it’s that he wasn’t liberal enough.

Don’t be a fool Jimmy, take a good look at what Obama’s done in the U.S. as an example of inexperience and tell
me that he’s done a good thing. And your being nieve if you think his back room leeches aren’t going to try and
pull his strings for him., but hey it’s only our country that’s going to pay in the end eh….

Jason,

No risk, no reward.

I am willing to take a chance on someone who may be inexperienced like Trudeau over someone like Harper who is experienced and in many ways – has sold out and become corrupted. Harper is almost like a dictator. I do believe that despite his inexperience, Trudeau is a good person who truly believes that he is doing the right thing for Canadians. He hasn’t turned to the dark side like Harper has…yet.

Ultimately I like the underdog and if everyone thinks one thing, I say bet the other way. And obviously since I am liberal – I cannot vote for a conservative. That isn’t the Canada that I want. Would you really vote for Trudeau if he was the opposite of everything you stated about him. Same with Mulcair?
commented 2015-08-23 12:45:37 -0400
Jimmy, I know you are trying to stick to your guns, and that’s commendable. But think about this for a moment. And I mean REALLY think. Every Canadian citizen knows that there is corruption abroad in and out of EVERY political circle. Liberals pretty much try to skew their policies to whatever is “trendy”. NDP are Greens in disguise, and the Conservatives try to back anything the other parties won’t, good or bad. Now let us look at the Candidates.
Trudeau: Young, charismatic, quite inexperienced as a career politician, being fed his ideas from his advisors, because he has no clear ideas of his own. An entertainer, and all around party boy to be sure, but shows little in true leadership.
Mulcair: An experienced career politician, rather dull personality with a reputation of letting his raw emotions guide his actions. He also tend to switch views depending on which way the wind is blowing. A good follower, but poor leadership traits.
Harper: A very experienced Prime Minister, with several gaffes in his tenure as Prime Minister, but then, name a Prime Minister who doesn’t. He stick to his ideas and implements his agendas, and faces adversity with stoicism. Not as charismatic as Trudeau, but more so than Mulcair. Decent leadership qualities.
May: Never taken seriously, as time and time again, displays radical ideas that have very little to no basis in fact. Her focus is on environmental agendas, but unless it’s a debate, never touches base on federal issues other than her environmental ideologies. No leadership skills.
Duceppe: I know very little about him, so I won’t even go there.

This is as unbiased as I can make it given all the information I have. So tell me, Jimmy… Who’s the lesser of all these evils?

Being a Liberal means that you never have to say you are SORRY.
The CBC will make sure of that,
commented 2015-08-22 21:01:15 -0400
Alex,

Every single poll has Canadians stating that they are not better off under Harper. If Canadians were so damn happy with Harper, it wouldn’t such a close race where Mulcair may be Prime Minister.
commented 2015-08-22 18:18:10 -0400
JT knows the leftist MSM will tongue-bathe him into power eventually. I credit the MSM with the imminent collapse of Canada as a civilized society. As Jesus Christ said, “If the blind lead the blind, shall they not both fall into the ditch?”
commented 2015-08-22 18:04:45 -0400
Very well said Rick Plesnik. Jimmy Da Silva may wake up and smell the coffee one day. I guarantee you that if MSM was truly objective, Harper would have a 75% approval rating. Harper’s policies may not be media enriching but at the end of the day, his policies keep me safe and leave me with money in my pocket.

Mulcair, like Eve Adams, is a political whore. He will say anything to get elected. He once tried to work for the Conservatives. His view on Energy East Pipelines is contrary to NDP ideology and will never happen if he is elected. Half his members would quit. Why doesn’t the media focus on that? And the hiring of 2500 police officers. How Harperish. Mulcair is starting to know that Harper’s policies are good for Canadians.

Imagine if Harper was a citizen of France. What do you think the media would have done with this Jimmy?
commented 2015-08-22 13:55:23 -0400
JIMMY DA SILVA said: “Rick, Maybe it was ignored, because it wasn’t worth talking about.” Really? So asking someone their hair shampoo, or their favourite avenger is a story worthy of the Socialist Media? Hypocrisy abounds methinks!

I wouldn’t read too much into this. Junior has no idea what he says he’s off script. And for that matter, when he’s on-script.

Jimmy said liberals are more laid back, (lazy proven by the CBC) cool, (cowardly) and have a sense of humour (because small things amuse small minds). And conservatives hate this about liberals, (because you are dragging down our society) conservatives are boring, no Jimmy. Realistic.
commented 2015-08-22 00:08:32 -0400
No Justin, “some” liberals might be asked tough questions, but the left wing media know you can’t answer any, so being in the tank with you, they’re actually trying to save you from embarrassment. We don’t elect someone to lead the country because they may have a sense of humour, but because they have a brain between their ears.
commented 2015-08-21 19:33:27 -0400
Rick,

Maybe it was ignored, because it wasn’t worth talking about. Did the conservative media in Canada talk about it? If conservatives want to get a message out there in the media world – they have the power to do with the internet and social media. Newspapers and TV news don’t hold the power that they once did.

Ultimately it is fair to say that liberals are more laid back, cool and have a sense of humor and conservatives absolutely hate that about liberals. Conservatives are more uptight, boring, have zero charisma and they are conservative by definition. That is Harper. Of course there are always exceptions on both sides.
commented 2015-08-21 18:47:49 -0400
The media will be very respectful when asking Justin(e) questions
commented 2015-08-21 17:27:55 -0400
“Stephen Harper comes across like he doesn’t have a pulse. Not exactly the life of the party. Harper almost seems to be socially retarded and awkward.” How does “life of the party” mean competence? We only get to see what the Socialist Media wants us to see. Anything other, is ignored or distorted into something else. I refer to Mr. Harper’s performance some years ago where he sang to a crowd. That was largely ignored by the Socialist Media because it made him look not to be what they were trying to paint. There was also “Wafergate”, a complete twisting by the Socialist Media where the PM had been invited to participate in a church ceremony involving Communion Wafers. To listen to the Socialist Media, it was a crime up there with genocide! It got quietly and suddenly dropped when the Socialist Media could not get any more traction with it. Compare these with the fawning coverage afforded to Justin and Tom! Can’t castigate their faves, can they?
commented 2015-08-21 16:58:16 -0400
Joan,

I think most people see it as Trudeau having a sense of humor and an actual personality. I am not so sure his comment here is bothering anyone outside of The Rebel.

Politics IS a popularity contest as well – hell in America, they have people who write jokes for their politicians so that they can come across as human. Stephen Harper comes across like he doesn’t have a pulse. Not exactly the life of the party. Harper almost seems to be socially retarded and awkward.

I’m sure Trudeau meant Liberals never need to worry about tough questions because they are so smart that no tough question could ever challenge them. But he typically leads with his chin, making a joke that leaves him wide open for ridicule. Regardless whatever happens, it is this habit of laying the ground for his opponents’ attack ads that he will be remembered for.
