Justin Trudeau recently addressed the international firefighters' union and promised to repeal two pieces of Conservative legislation he views as anti-union.
One ensures the right to a secret ballot during union certification, and the other would require unions to disclose large scale transactions.
The U.S. has had a similar disclosure law since 1959, so I was able to visit the IAFF's American website and tell you that, for example, it gave $105,000 to the left-leaning Broadbent Institute and other Canadian progressive causes last year -- including the Liberal Party.
But Trudeau doesn't want Canadians to know that same sort of information.
