Kenney: “The greatest concern I've heard from Albertans” is about the NDP “politicizing” schools

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

I devoted the better part of last night's show talking to Jason Kenney, the veteran Conservative Party MP and cabinet minister who is now running for the leadership of the Alberta Progressive Conservatives. We touched on a wide range of topics — here's an excerpt:

Not impressed with Mr. Kenny so far! Sounds like just another politician trying to take advantage of the situation Especially when asked about coal; “already brought in federally a shut down of coal plants” No Mr Kenny, stuff it! Hard cap on carbon: “I would reserve a decision on that”! Changes subject to schools where we all pretty well agree! Mr Kenny you lost the last election and you and your policies were part of the problem. You don’t seem to have learned much. Ezra be very careful of hitching your wagon to this horse!

Have you ever heard of Hydro One in Ontario? Basically it is the electricity produced from the generators run by the water from the Niagara River (Niagara Falls).
Guess what happened, the Liberals decided to privatize it, guess who bought into it big time? Oh no, couldn’t be, naw, naw, naw, no way, not the Saudi’s and the Chinese. And, of course the coal fired generators of Nanticoke (Ontario) strangely get shut down. Ya, the coal that was mostly bought from, ya you guessed it, Alberta. Are you starting to get the PICTURE yet?
Are you getting the feeling there might just be some kind of International co-ordinate d attack on the autonomy of the once great independence of a strong Alberta? Has secede ever entered your thought process? Well your probably not the only one.

I absolutely hate Notley, but I most certainly would not vote for this guy. He sounds just like every other politician. Just a lying sack of shit in my mind. What most people do not realize is that Canada is a carbon sink, not a carbon producer. Our forests suck up approx. 4x more carbon that we produce. So what i really want to know is why there is such a big push for green energy? The fact that Kenny, even being a conservative wants to continue on that path and ultimately end up where the NDP government is right now, is a good enough reason not to vote PC if he gets leadership.

Well, I see a lot of negative comments about Jason Kenny.

I disagree. Jason is the best person to bring together the real Conservatives of Alberta to beat Notley. He has the experience an a proven track record.

How about interviewing Maxime Bernier…sounds like a true conservative?

Sorry, that was ‘unite’, not “unit”. An editing system, please, Rebel sysadmins.

Really hope the Wildrose doesn’t unit with the PC… we can do it with two conservative parties in Alberta we did before, we just need stronger leadership. Both Kenney and Jean are stronger than the previous leaders but I’d prefer something more “AAA grade” Albertan without all the pandering. Still thinking about moving to Saskatchewan. Good governance deserves to be rewarded, getting tired of playing whack-a-mole.

Just another globalist pretending not to be, I couldn’t trust this dupe as he’s still got that Ottawa stink on him. Let the real people of Alberta govern themselves and hang all the lawyers and career politicians from the derricks of the now parked rigs. Bunch of dopey pissants.

For Kenny to state he’s unfamiliar with the transgender washroom issue in public schools is- how would I say this politely?- really stupid. Where has he been living under a rock? And enough already with the Conservative merger with the Wild Rose- didn’t the Prentice, Smith episode teach us anything? It’s not a good idea, it didn’t work then and it won’t work in the future, period. Kenny had better pull his socks up, grow some testicles and start speaking like a leader if he wants support from real Albertans.

I like Jason Kenney but the interview was far from inspiring, especially if you are an Albertan. He seemed to fall back on Federal PC positions rather than enunciating what he sees as being the best way forward for Alberta, and came off as being out of touch with the provincial issues created by Notley & comrades. Surely he heard from his constituents about education concerns before a month ago when he developed his Alberta conservative coalition strategy? Where are the right-of-centre statesmen in Alberta that can clearly state the issues/concerns of the people and offer clear solutions?

Some great comments and insightful discerning comments below. And ACCUNA, thanks for the chuckle, as we need some humour in these insane times.

“We need to make reasonable efforts on carbon emissions”! He’s an intelligent thoughtful man. Does he really believe in man-made global warming caused by that ‘pollutant’ carbon dioxide? Or is it a case of pragmatism? Or….??

I’d like to have the opportunity to connect with Jason Kenny through the Rebel from time to time. Perhaps you can forward questions from members?

Even as a non-Albertan I must share the disappointment of many of you re that interview… That is not the voice or rallying cry that Albertans evidently want to hear…. Too many platitudes; too much Ottawaspeak… I would however offer this insight – the real test for Kenney will be seeing if he learns from his mistakes and starts “talking Albertan” in the coming days and weeks… Smart people learn from their mistakes… So, is Kenney smart?… We’ll all be watching…

Wow. That was disappointing. I went from being excited at the prospect, to being so disappointed. From words spoken during this interview, Mr. Kenney is all about bringing the federal government into Alberta. Instead of protecting Alberta from unfair federal policies. Sounds like a sell-out. Especially on oil sands emission caps and clean-powered coal. Alberta should be first on his mind, not stale, outdated policies set by the feds. Two thumbs down.

I’m disappointed Kenny, I had thought you would not have bought into the CO2 is bad belief. It is sad that this is the best we have. How about taking off your politician’s hat and do some scientific studying from none United Nation sources.

Jason Kenny is PANDERING to the climate change hoax and carbon emissions control at horrendous taxpayer expense! He loses my vote!! Bring on the Western Independence Party of Alberta and separation from Eastern Canada..

If Homo Sexuals & Transgendered people want the public to accept them, then why are they forcing the hand of the Canadian government to implement laws that allow pre-op transgendered males to have access to girls shower & locker rooms.

As an uncle of a teenage niece I am outraged by this politically correct policy.
The government will not create tolerance, but bullying & intolerance for these transgendered & homosexuals.

Their thoughtless policy only creates intolerance, not acceptance and can only eventually lead to rapes and violence.

Shit – Not the Jason Kenney I remember from PM Harper’s cabinet. Very dissappointing.
commented 2016-07-08 13:17:56 -0400
Less that two minutes into this clip, and I was convinced that this was not the man that would stand up to Ottawa to protect the interests of Albertans. Would he be able to ‘unite the right’, and free us from the oppressive shackles of the NDP…? I think he’s offering the same limp, partyline production that the PCs have offered Albertans before, that we so firmly rejected before, but they are now hoping we are desperate enough to accept as a lifebuoy instead of an insult. We might take anything that floats, but this is no passionate embrace of what he espouses, only a marriage of convenience.

Too much ‘political establishment’ lingo from Mr. Kenney in this interview. It appears obvious that he has bought into the ‘climate change’ fallacy and is intent on essentially doing the same thing as the NDP are now, just over a longer period of time. In the meantime, the climate change demagogues demonize cheap energy sources, like coal, essentially killing the industry, then they buy up these companies stocks for pennies and proceed to profit immensely from selling the cheap energy to places like China. This, in turn, provides them with the cheapest energy source and makes them a lower cost goods producer that ultimately kills jobs and prosperity here. Too much B.S. everywhere!

Analogously, Mr. Kenney places the same noose around the neck of Alberta that the FATAL Rachel did, only to have Mr. Kenney pull the chair from under the feet of Alberta, slowly, whereas, FATAL Rachel has kicked the chair out with one swift boot.

Perhaps, with Mr. Kenney, as executioner, the noose will deteriorate enough by the time Mr. Kenney pulls the chair far enough away from Alberta’s tiptoes, that the rope will break and have Alberta crash to the ground, still surviving, but barely. At that point, the establishment will find a new rope (made in China this time), to place around Alberta’s neck and start the entire ordeal over again (with Alberta in a much more compromised state). Strangling Alberta does not appear to be a whole lot different than breaking the neck of Alberta – either way, the outcome isn’t good and they still rob you blind and threaten your sovereignty.

In speaking tot he education issues, Mr. Kenney appears to be more in tune with reality.

It is absolutely critical today that we have leaders and politicians that are courageous enough and have the integrity to “call a spade, a spade”. End the political correctness, cronyism, and genocide of freedom, liberty and sovereignty. Relativism must be exposed and obliterated.

Still paying lip service to fraudulent carbon hysteria – yup he’s a politician – at least he’s a good administrator and organizer – at least you get that in not a principled anti-globalist patriot.

Acuuna you must know that one of the things communist do is take over the school system.

the guy is a plain waffle with no butter or syrup. he should be all fired up about the injustices Canadians face at the hands of regional governments. he is not. he’s more like, ’I’m getting paid to go blah blah blah’. I see no leadership quality from this bozo. I’d rather de-worm my dog than listen to Mr. Waffle speak.
