Lawton Online: Harper interview on C-24, school bans tag, NDP fundraiser goes awry and more

Andrew LawtonRebel Commentator

In this Lawton Online, I play a snippet of my exclusive interview with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and explain why the Conservatives have got it wrong on the contentious citizenship bill, C-24

Then I chat about a school's "zero tolerance" policy going after a schoolyard hero, take on a U.S. school board that banned tag, and discuss an NDP fundraiser that went awry.

Are we only taking in Muslims? What about any others besides Muslims?
Any one counting this? I think humanitarian aide should only count for half of what immigrates to Canada. A number decided and then only half Muslim and the rest of the world that we know wouldn’t be a troublemaker and is already able to blend in work wise and communication wise. A simple background check to see what he/she can contribute.
I am waiting to see someone say that is not Canadian. Soon the Middle east will include all Europe if it hasn’t already from what I hear.

That sounds reasonable to me, Keith. Residency and a work permit should be the extent of it. Why do we have to make them Canadian citizens in the first place.

All Muslims that come to Canada, should be required to have a certificate, from their Country of origin, stating that they will be allowed back into that Country.
No Muslim should be granted Immigrant status. A Residency and Work Permit that allows them to live and work here is sufficient. They should be allowed to contribute to pension plans and OHIP etc.
They should agree to assimilate to the Canadian way of life and be subject to Canadian Law. They should be aware that Sharia Law is illegal in Canada.
One Wife per man should be the rule.
They should be allowed to follow their religion, only as far as it dose not interfere with other people and this would include, amplified calls to prayer.
They should not be permitted to stand on the streets, handing out pamphlets advertising the joys of Islam.

I have only mentioned Muslims because, in my opinion, they are the ones that are most likely to become a threat to the Canadian way of life.

You make some really good points about the effectiveness of C-24. I really like the idea of purging our country of foreign invaders who murder us, but what if other countries take up the same law. Your example was if an Australian terrorist with a duel citizenship to Canada was found guilty the Australians could deport him to Canada. You also sited Omar turfed back to us by Obama. Didn’t you also say that the receiving country would have to agree first, this could still leave us holding the bag, when we try to deport.
We need a Gitmo for convicted terrorists, all western countries could chip in. We need a way to get rid of convicted terrorists once and for all. We can’t keep letting them out of jail to walk our streets, or letting them loose on the world to re-offend. I am not sure what the solution is, but C-24 would not be a complete fix. It is better than nothing. Trudeau and his, ‘a Canadian is a Canadian’ is full of crap.

Guy – he shouldn’t be allowed to run as PM until he chooses a side. I pray PM Harper wins a majority!

Why would Jordan not take Zakaria Amara back since he was born in Jordan and is still a Jordanian Citizen?
If Mulcair continues treating Natural Canadians as second class citizens, maybe he should be tried for treason then sent to France where they think like him.

I was also bullied in school, but on 2 occasions, I did stand up to the bully, and an explosion of rage came out. I was stunned at what I did, as were others. The bullying stopped, and I have never had to display my rage again. Now I am a senior, so it would be inappropriate now.

Good show Andrew. Watching my grand kids going thru the public school meat grinder is very disheartening. We have allowed teachers, and other special interest groups to dumb down school so much, that in 20 years, there will be no more schools. Except for the rich.
