Lawton Online: Goodbye 2015, Year of the Victim PLUS New Year’s resolutions for Justin (because it’s 2016)

Andrew LawtonRebel Commentator

In the last Lawton Online of 2015, I bring back Harrison Ruess of DefendDemocracy.ca to respond to a Liberal cabinet minister's claim that "consulting" with Canadians will mean more than actually letting them vote in a referendum on electoral reform

I also talk about some New Year's resolutions Prime Minister Trudeau should embrace, as well as a 17-year old Windsor student who thinks he was the victim of racism after getting suspended for tweeting that someone was "gonna shoot up" his school.

Hopefully 2016 is the year that the canadians smarten up and see Trudeau for what he really is. I doubt it will happen, but I can hope.

I sure hope this Liberal referendum fooforaw is not merely a set up to set a precedent and introduce any kind of electronics into the system of voting – because I don’t trust politicians as far as I can throw them…especially socialists!

Yes, the people should always have the final say on any fundamental change to how our democracy works, such as the electoral system itself.

There must be a referendum held on the Liberals’ electoral reform package before it is passed into law, and not be passed into law if it is not more than 50%.

Anyone who wants our electoral system reformed should also be all in support of all Canadian being able to vote upon it.

The very fact that the Liberals received a majority does not give them a carte blanche right to change the manner in which we elect our government representatives, the manner by which we hold them to account.

An electoral reform is a change to the very core of our democracy. That change must be authorized by all Canadians in a referendum!

Andrew, I think our military fight against ISIS ends in March. Surprise!!!! Trudeau is meeting Obama in March. Look for “our” new vision in the fight against ISIS to come out of these meetings. I wonder what Obama will give us for our change of heart? Maybe approval of a pipeline to Texas?
It will be interesting!
