Liberal hypocrisy: Remember that time Catherine McKenna denounced a Conservative MP’s “vanity video”?

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Commentator

This week we reported that Environment and Climate Change Minister, Catherine McKenna McKenna hired a French photographer last November to take really bad pictures of her.

That photographer cost taxpayers $6,000 and the whole debacle has caused a well deserved backlash directed at McKenna.

But with Liberals comes hypocrisy and McKenna's latest stunt is no different.

Catherine McKenna was once very critical of Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre for what she called a vanity video. She tweeted:

“Unacceptable that Pierre Poilievre’s vanity video was produced by public servants at the taxpayers expense. #paidforbyyou”

WATCH my video to see what really happened with Poilievre.

It's not the catastrophic abuse of taxpayer's money the Liberals like McKenna made it out to be.

Its just the Liberals entitled to their entitlements. Come on, its not as though she ordered a $16 glass of orange juice; spending 6000 Euros for sloppy shots so obviously a proper waste of public funds. After all, the minister must keep up appearances!

She could have hired a Canadian photographer for $2000 plus airfare, hotel, and meals, and it wouldn’t have cost as much as putting $10,000 into the pocket of a foreign national. And the $2000 would have been taxable income.

Wow! I was upset earlier when the details of spending at the UN climate change party ( revealed by TheRebel through access-to-information action ) showed $ thousands wasted on limos, flowers, hotels at posted rates that NOBODY pays, etc., etc. The kicker for me was the $800 spent on the 3 day rental of a photocopier delivered to the hotel conference venue ( didn’t realize the Canadian Consulate in NYC functioned without such machines, but who knew? ). These folks better clean up their act QUICKLY before things get very ugly in this country.

I’m stealing this because I thought it was great…it’s not ‘Canada is back’ but rather the Liberals are back. I imagine the defacto PM Gerald Butts is reading the riot act to all Ministers at the latest retreat. Perhaps our PM will want to take a more hands-on approach with his Ministers…oh, forget that. He needs his hands to take selfies.

I’m delighted that the likes of Tinkerbell and McKenna have been given carte blanche. The Great Reckoning can’t come soon enough. You know, the separation of wheat from chaff, the useful from the useless, the makers from the takers.

When the shit hits the turbines, there won’t be much sustenance or sympathy for our parasites.

D.H. CHAISSON defended: "
Eileen, of course it’s not okay for the Liberals to waste taxpayers dollars but I rately saw Conservatives slamming Harper when he was doing the same."

Then you weren’t paying attention. If it were so bad, why was the socialist media focused on trivial stuff like “wafergate” which they beat to death and quietly dropped when they could get no more traction with it?

It’s ridiculous really. While the liberals ripped off millions of the tax payers money and blown billions more and repeat their patented email deletion maneuvers on both sides of the border they stand screaming and pointing at the likes of Mike Duffy or Nigel Wright. Truly in the liberals we have

D.H. Chaisson: You seem to forget the words spoken by the Liberal Defence Critic at the time (2010) Mr. John McKay: “It speaks to the larger issue of the absolute cynicism and contempt that this government has for the Parliament of Canada, members of Parliament and the people of Canada.” See: So the Liberals are being totally hypocritical re their reckless spending on entitlement expenses! They denounced it as the quote shows, but now feel it is okay for them to do it?

Remember, I told you that someone will rebut your comments! It may not be me, but, there are many commenters who will counter your comments. So, what you are implying here is that if it is okay for the goose, then it is okay for the gander? Do what I say, but don’t do what I do We are entitled, but you are not??? That sir, is total hypocrisy!

NDP, you are absolutely wrong. The bill that the National Defense handed in was for $47,313, who we pay for. That was what the Cons wanted taxpayers to cover, short and simple!

No photographer can make McKenna look any better, even using photoshop wouldn’t help, she’s too far gone down Hedgehog Highway.

NDP SUCKS……..Excellent response.

DH Chaisson

You are like a dog with a bone. I have seen you make this same comment several times now. The fake F-35 was transported for free. The 47K was blown on comms equipment or some stupid thing. Yeah it was a waste of money just for some public statement on the F-35. All governments waste money, it’s just that the Liberals do it on a weekly basis. For example, did you hear the one about Justin hiding the manifest names of Sophie’s parents and one of his nannies on the trip to St Kitts? Do you see the difference DH? Spit out that bone and find something new to bitch about.

In other news Rachel Notley is still destroying Alberta. Kathy Wynne has just about completely destroyed Ontario. We are getting daily reports of the division, disintegration and destruction of Canada by Justin Trudeau.

Is anyone out there keeping a list of every Liberal blunder and hypocritical moves? It would be well worth it come next election and for debates.

Pretty funny considering 99% of liberal media dramatics is virtue posing from less than virtuous people – the whole political theater becomes a tired parody of itself for most jaded voters.

I agree that McKenna is wasting taxpayer dollars, but Sheila dear, you’ve never complained about Rona Ambrose’s $47,000 photo shoot with a fake plane. How come?

Apart from the fact that McKenna is a newbie MP, there is absolutely nothing in her advertised official background which would suggest that she has any expertise whatsoever on the “climate” front.

Nor has there been anything in any of her “pronouncements” (tweeted or otherwise) vis a vis “climate change” – or, Gaia forbid, the demon CO2 and the utterly-failed-everywhere-its-been-tried “carbon tax” – which would suggest that she has the even the slightest knowledge (or inclination to learn!) beyond the money-grubbing propaganda of the ever-increasing arms, elbows, hands, fingers etc. of the UNEP/UNFCCC.

She’s even championed the UNFCCC’s totally out-of-thin-air – and the even more useless, unless one is in favour of bankrupting one’s economy – 1.5°C “target”.

IMHO, all Canadians deserve better. Because … well, because it’s 2016!

A government obsessed with vanity, “entitled to their entitlements” all paid for by taxpayers. That is what the current Liebrano government in Ottawa consists of! Canadian taxpayers be damned!
