Lorrie Goldstein “being attacked” for exposing on “carbon pricing's fatal flaw”

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Sun columnist Lorrie Goldstein is catching a lot of flak for his piece about "carbon pricing's fatal flaw."

He explains that if those pushing carbon tax schemes want to be "honest" and "consistent," the only type of scheme they can implement must be revenue neutral.

It's also why such a plan will probably never get passed.

Here in Lethbridge, some BC residents “more than understand” the ridiculous taxation they are expected to endure. How would we know? They show up in droves to buy fuel at the Costco gas bar and then buy their groceries and various other sundry items at the same location! Thus they avoid the much-ballyhoo’d dramatic impact of their carbon taxation efforts! All hail non-harmonious taxation in its individualistic glory! Best buy now and lots BC residents – Notley will soon have Albertans jacked up as high or higher than Clark in BC or Wynne in Ontario! But hey, if we can all just lower our carbon emissions to the point where we travel by horse and buggy again and cut our own firewood to stay warm in the winter, we can help lower the world temp by 0.00000001 C! Oops – wait a minute – burning wood releases carbon dioxide and those dang horses leave all those methane producing “road apples”. How long before we can’t do any of that anymore either? Sounds like another set of taxes coming our way just as soon as the government weans us all off that dreaded diabolically addicting drug called oil.

Kind of reminds me of the song from Woodstock:
Well its 1, 2, 3 why are we taxing more?
Don’t ask me not to, I don’t give a damn!
So what if a tax to prevent climate change is a sham!
Well its 5, 6, 7, open up your wallets again!
No time to wonder why,
Whoopee, we’re all gonna die!
(in the cold and the dark!)

…Tom Green stated “BC got rid of the GST”…correction

BC got rid of the HST, the federal promoted ‘Harmonized Sales Tax’ by referendum.
They separated the BC consumer tax of 7% from the federal 5% General Sales Tax(GST), but consumers still pay both = 12%.

Here in BC unfortunately, the Carbon Tax was the first in North America, has a track record since 2008 and is touted by eco-radicals world wide as the best model.
The BC Carbon tax is not ‘Revenue Neutral’ to the people as it cost each household approx. $400 annually.
It is only Revenue Neutral to the gov’t with their creative shell game bookkeeping. The proof is, with a population of only 4.6 million, it scoops out of consumer/taxpayers pockets $1.1 billion into general revenue every year.

The Rev-Neutral spin…. We are supposed to believe that we consumers will benefit from the tax credits they give to business as the businesses will volunteer those credits back in the form of lower prices of their products.
Yeah and I have a bridge to sell you!

Unless Trudeau tries to force his Cap/Trade model, the provinces will probably use the same smoke and mirrors BC Carbon Tax model….(BC also has a carbon trading Cap/Trade system).
It is complex by design so not surprising that a lot of people don’t understand it.

The Marxist Ponzi scheme brought to you by the world governments, in order to finance the destruction of democracy, so that the terrorist UN can gain control of the world. With the exception of Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, who loves his people, and will fight to the death for them.

Lloyd said, " … …you know when Pierre was running er ruining the economy."

And now Pierre “Idiot” Trudeau version 2 is finishing the job his communist daddy started. All PET v.2 needs to do now is extend his middle finger in salute to the West and that will complete the cycle.

Well, I guess at least Pierre understood that you don’t destroy the oil industry in Alberta before you rape Alberta. Little pretty “puff puff” PM thinks he can kill the goose and then expect it to lay golden eggs for his socialist/green agenda.

Tom, I am not sure if you missed it, but Lorrie is not saying that he agrees with the carbon tax, but that since the governments are going to go ahead with it anyway, they need to make it revenue neutral. Lorrie has stated many time over and again that he thinks the whole carbon pricing is a scam.

Just wait until Trudy drops his bomb, I mean budget later this month. Then those who voted for this moron will begin to see that a demon was elected, not a real man.

I disagree! There is no way carbon should be taxed when it’s based on a lie.
Yes CT is an attempt to reduce consumption and there by reduce CO2 emissions. The truth is it will cause inflation in everything we consume including food, medicine, clothes etc. This will lead to less DISPOSABLE income, greater hardship on the medical field and even more illnesses, psychological and physical.
This is the most insane BS. BC has a carbon tax but they got rid of the GST.
