Memo reveals CBC’s plans to regain control of leaders’ debates for 2019

Documents obtained through an access to information request reveal that our progressive, Liberal loving state broadcaster really believes they should be in control of elections by controlling the format of future election debates.

After the Conservatives experimented with opening up the leaders debates to distributors and formats outside of the CBC controlled media consortium, discussions on what to do in the next election began right away.

By December 2015, they were having "go forward" meetings at CBC for the election that doesn't take place until 2019.

There is even a memo where CBC lays out the criteria for which leader gets in and which ones do not. Why would CBC be doing this? It's all about control.

Canadians can’t let them do this. No one group, especially a biased, taxpayer funded media outlet, should have that kind of control over how federal election debates are run especially since the media world is changing. YouTube was a partner in one of the debates last time as was FaceBook and when you consider that YouTube is only 11 years old, who knows what kind of new technology will be around in 2019?

CBC may like to think they are the voice of the nation but in reality, they’re the voice for a small, mainly urban, very progressive piece of Canada.

They should remember they’re just one voice among many. It's STILL time to Sell the CBC.

The CBC actively campaigns for Justin Trudeau and the Liberals, so why should we subsidize them?

Trudeau wants to invoke the Emergencies Act (Martial Law). He is waiting for Obama to do this first so he can follow along like a good little puppy dog. He may have to help create a situation to accomplish this such as backlash against islamic immigrants. Then Trudeau can get the RCMP to start seizing weapons and the game will heat up fast. He is just like his good old dad.

CBC is finally starting to act like a state-broadcaster. Pretty soon, the weather will be great over Toronto all the time. Only one source? Yeah, why not? It’s hard to criticise – that takes work.

The great thing about Texas is that the government isn’t trusted, never has been trusted, and never will be trusted. And a lot of Texans already know this, as well as the politicians. So, give the people what they want: freedom and get out of the way. For example, I carry a firearm. It’s hard for Canadians to imagine, even Albertans, how important that principle is. That means that I cannot be opposed – by anyone or anything – unless someone is willing go to great lengths, and personal risk, to do it. Actually, where I live, lots of people carry. Open or concealed, the guns are everywhere. And there is, apart from the harm that people do to themselves, no crime. Every. The police have nothing to do. Really. I would go so far as to say that there is no need for the police. Another, and very important one, is that guns make a society infinitely more polite. Politicians, in particular, are very, very careful, which is as it should be.

The problem in Canada is that your politicians are idiots. Politicians everywhere are idiots, but Canadians are actually proud of their idiocy. And they behave this way because they know no one will ever put a bullet in them. Of course, that is a false sense of security, because Canadian politicians are just as vulnerable to threat as they are anywhere else. The difference is that these politicians don’t believe they are vulnerable to any threat, as though the love of the people protects them. It’s a weird state to be in, and it will soon be broken by some event. It will take such an event to wake politicians up. In the meantime, prepare for that eventuality. The moment politicians sense that they are under threat, they will do something so stupid, so startlingly retarded, they will turn everyone against them.

Peter Mansbridge can fool almost everybody.

Gee, the CBC have a political agenda. Who didn’t see that one coming?

Gerald Johnston, you are correct about Michael “Mannie” Mann, he is actually Gordo Steele, who did the same thing to the Sun comments sections across Canada. He polluted them with absolute nonsense to troll and antagonize, with their complete cooperation. His comments, as bad and rapid as they were, were never ever deleted, even though they were flagged, broke all the rules, all the time. He was truly hated there because eventually they shut down the comments, and gave lame excuses as to why; but their job was done, shut down the dissenting discussion from the right, just before the elections. The Sun showed their true colours on that one.

Is there really going to be another election? I would have thought that Trudeau would have set up his dictatorship by then.

Dictators when they fall, fall hard. Trudeau would look good swinging from a Gallows in front of the Parliament Building.

Michael Mann is clearly a cbc hack in charge of belittling the posters here. Why else would a (presumed) adult, devote so much time and effort to a non cnc website with non liberal views. Clearly just a troll who lives a shallow existence. Sad really.

I think the CBC should have total control over these debates. They obviously have the experience and expertise to conduct these events and their reputation for honesty and integrity are second to none. Peter Mansbridge would be an excellent choice to conduct these debates. His knowledge of political affairs in Canada is at a very high level. Please do not get mad as I was just trying to get the trollies excited. I heard Peter Mansbridge is leaving the CBC as he thinks they are a bunch of greedy little two faced left wing pricks and a person can only take so much. He’s off to Vancouver to find Claire Martin.

CBC = The Censorship Bureau of Canada!
If you make disparaging comments about the liberals or their glee club … you will be censored.

This isn’t news. Did anyone seriously doubt this would happen? Of course, they want to control the next debate. And now that their boy is in power, I’m sure they just automatically assume they’ll be running the show…. and they probably will.

the conservatives might want to watch one of ben shapiro’s videos on youtube about how to deal with a leftist. it might help them deal with this when the time comes.

GERRY FLADAGER you disparage Camel dung. Many insects live off Camel dung, it is vital in the circle of life – so it is useful.
Liberals not so much.
The only insects that live off Liberals are the low information Liberal dopes, many of which we have the unfortunate luck of having on here from time to time.

Disgusting! Elections Canada should be pressured to deal with this and their own role to bring Harper down. Democracy is dead in Canada!

The CBC is loaded with half-wits. The CBC will have meeting after meeting after meeting and accomplish nothing.

But I hear the CBC runs a helluva great Rita McNeal Special – useless corporate welfare idiots.
