Michael Moore is back with new "ideological stinker," "Where To Invade Next?"

David MenziesMission Specialist

Toronto's the place to be in September if you're a movie buff, thanks to the Toronto International Film Festival.

Blowhard Michael Moore's back in town for the debut of this latest mockumentary, Where to Invade Next.

As we've come to expect from his films, this latest anti-American propaganda piece is full of satire, full of irony and full of bull.

Moore skewers U.S. domestic and foreign policy while selectively praising various European countries, "picking the flowers while leaving the weeds," as he himself described it.

This suggests that he is capable of focusing on the good elsewhere which makes me wonder how he consistently fails to miss the good in his own country?

It's especially hypocritical when you consider how good the Great Satan has been to him --- a man who is now worth over $50 million dollars.

Dale Warren asks, “why is the radical left so clueless?”

To answer that question you would have to get into the mind of a radical leftist. I would think most conservative/libertarian minded and classic Liberals would be a tad bit worried about delving into that mind set for fear of becoming trapped in it.

And we cannot depend upon the radical left to tell the truth about their true state of mind because 1) they may not know or realize just how twisted it is, and 2) what they might know they would be too ashamed to reveal.

So it what it comes down to is that we may never know.

Brinkman . . . YOU are the Mikey Moore of Canada . . . you are NOT “Charlie” cause you don’t stand for FREEDOM!
You are marxist NDP through and through . . . a touchey feeley type who promotes a 19th century failed philosophy.
Your buddy Omar is a convicted terrorist . . . why is the radical left so clueless?

“It’s especially hypocritical when you consider how good the Great Satan has been to him - a man who is now worth over $50 million dollars.”

Is that before or after the bitter and rancorous divorce?

I bet he’s tried to hide his true worth……

Doug/Richard Brinkman, I like your paintings very much, clearly inspired by the Group of Seven and Lawren Harris (also one of my favourites), but have trouble finding the specific references on the website to which you keep linking.
Also, what exactly do you mean by repeating the phrase “I am not Charlie Hebdo”??

Too funny, Menz. I like the Star Trek touch, too. Now where was I? Oh yeah: Moore, like pretty much all leftites, runs on a misplaced belief in his own moral superiority. That is his downfall . He is becoming a parody of himself. It’s still entertaining, in a painful sort of way, to watch him, but he would do better to at least try to take an objective look at society instead of funneling everything through his tired old Marxist charcoal colored glasses. Just sayin…

Michael Moore — who?

’Nuff said.

Rudden says; The irony, of course, its that the entire “Rebel Media” approach to news is precisely the same, and borrows heavily from Moore’s most offensive toolkit. Event coverage edited to make protesters look as absurd as possible, “gotcha” interviews, omission of contradictory perspectives, reliance on heavily biased informants with industry connections, lousy fact-checking, the mocking narrative voice… it’s pure Michael Moore, except from a conservative perspective.

They ask open-ended questions and the give lefty imbeciles all the time they need to answer (shoot themselves)
No “gotcha” interviews – they ask open-ended questions
omission of contradictory views – ummm – Rebel IS the contradictory view you idiot!!
biased informants – ummm, right – that’s what the OTHERS do (no complaints of the CBC for this?)
lousy fact-checking – I haven’t seen you provide any accurate corrections, so how would you know?
Nor have I EVER seen any of the others go through documents like Ezra does and digs up all kinds of stuff that no one else does.

Really – so this is the case, but only YOU can see it huh? That’s amazing. You have infrared glasses we don’t? lol.
This is the good old, tell-the-opposite-of-the-truth-to-lead-people-in-the-wrong-direction tactic that we see Lefty’s using all the time. A confusion tactic. What I find fascinating, is that each and every Lefty thinks they’re “unique” and non of their fellow Lefty’s use it – only them LOLLLLL!!!!!! Truly psychotic!!! Thanks Terry for displaying your psychiatric problems for the world to see. Cheers!!

I trust David Menzies assessment of this propaganda piece before trusting a couple of leftist trolls, a few of Lenin’s “useful idiots”!

I think that the US should invade both Scotland and Ireland and Holland, and Norway and Sweden-pretty much any European Country. It is a well known fact that most immigrants to Canada come from Countries where the USA has stuck their nose ,whether invited or uninvited. So I conclude that if the USA attacks Europe—-Canada will finally get back to taking in good ,hard working, honest immigrants that Despise welfare and want to work hard to to build and contribute to their new HOME and COUNTRY.

Too late Mikey!
Europe is already being invaded.

DSJ K: I think that’s true sometimes – certainly in the case of Moore, Levant, Spurlock and propagandists of that ilk. But a more journalistic stance is approach multiple perspectives on an issue and give each a voice.

I’m a doc junkie- they all have an angle. It’s take-a-position then assemble the parts. No one should think they’re balanced. Moore just doesn’t know how to give the illusion of truth.

“I guess if you agree with producer’s bias, you find it “provocative and insightful’, and if you disagree, you find it manipulative and offensive. I have too much respect for documentary film-makers who try for honesty and accuracy to enjoy bullshit propaganda from either camp.” Wow Terry. Tell us how you really feel……………

There’s a certain amount of irony in this indignant dismissal of Michael Moore by The Rebel.

I personally can’t stand Moore’s films. He’s a polemicist and a propagandist posing as a journalist, and using the documentary format because it makes his editorials seem more credible. The heavy layer of ironic mockery is supposed to excuse him from respecting the core values of journalism – truth, accuracy, freedom from special interests, and balance. Moore can be funny, he can be entertaining, but I can’t watch him. I know he’s selecting and discarding, clips, constructing events, and manipulating his data, his sources, and his material, and framing his content in post production – no to “explore” a story or an issue, but to sell a political point of view.

The irony, of course, its that the entire “Rebel Media” approach to news is precisely the same, and borrows heavily from Moore’s most offensive toolkit.

I don’t trust Michael Moore as far as I can throw him. I remember watching Sicko, years back, and he had a scene where he was praising the Canadian health system to the skies. He went to an Emergency Room in Windsor and found someone – it may have even been an American tourist – who went to that Emergency Room and was in-and-out in just 15 minutes. I’m happy to say that I haven’t had to make a lot of visits to Emergency Rooms but I don’t believe that ANYONE can get in and out of ANY emergency room in this country that quickly. Last year, when I had to take my mother to the hospital, it took a good half hour after we’d signed in before we even saw the triage nurse, let alone had her examined and discharged. And don’t tell me things only recently got bad, since Sicko was made. I remember my brother waiting a good three hours before he was even seen for a broken arm and that was 30 years ago. Two or three years back, he spent over 12 hours waiting for a doctor on a severe leg infection; at one point, they were thinking seriously that it might be flesh-eating disease and would have to be amputated.

The other laughable moment that I recall in Sicko was a scene in Toronto where he was visiting someone in an older neighbourhood. I don’t remember why he was there – perhaps to interview random strangers about health care – but I do remember him making a big deal of the fact that one guy didn’t have his door locked when Moore knocked. (It was closed but not locked.) I don’t remember the exact wording but he tried to give the impression that most Torontonians never locked their doors, as if Toronto was some small town in the MidWest.

I have to admit, I am not familiar with this Guy, Moore. I note that Jimmy da Slick approves of him, so I can only assume that he has to be a Rectal Orifice.

Anyone who says that Cuban health care is superior to US health care is an idiot.

Liberty,

That’s funny, considering you can’t identify the falsehoods and propaganda on The Rebel.

GM may have been founded in Flint, Michigan but it was basically a holding company for two existing companies, one of which was the McLaughlin Car Company of CANADA. (If memory serves, they were headquartered in Whitby, Ontario.)

It is increasingly apparent that being left is a serious mental condition and anyone that can make it through a Michael Moore film without identifying the falsehoods and propaganda is an idiot.

On the bright side, Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, Irish documentarians, are making a film about Kermit Gosnel and his twisted abortion clinic. In addition, Dinesh D’Souza is coming out with a new project.

There has been a noticeable rise in faith based films with conservative motifs and they are doing very well at the box office, in spite of all the leftist bullsh*t Hollywood and media would have us believe.

Since Moore is so Socialist, i wonder why he wants to make huge profits with his spoofs? He has become rich by pretending he cares about the little guy. But then all hypocrite Socialist are the same.
Socialist mantra:
“Work harder! Millions on Welfare are depending on you.”
commented 2015-09-19 13:16:07 -0400
Moore gets more wrong than right, so why would I waste my time watching something where I have to fact check everything he says, shows are to be entertaining, his is not. I saw a part of his 9/11 movie and almost threw up, he liked to blame the US and not the terrorists that committed the act, but then again that is a typical coward socialist as they would rather roll over than fight for whats right. I say we get back to survival of the fittest and thin this damn stupid herd out.

Paul,

I guess making things better through change is a new concept to you. Apparently we should all leave our homes if we don’t like certain things in the countries that we live in.
commented 2015-09-19 12:36:13 -0400
I don’t understand why Mr. Moore doesn’t just move to Europe if living in the U.S.A. is so bad. Free housing, free welfare, free medical…he could take the millions he’s earned through capitalistic efforts and live the life of Reilly in the E.U. having nothing more to do then feed his face.
commented 2015-09-19 12:25:25 -0400
Dale,

By the way – you do realize that Moore has been fact checked right? Yes, he has gotten some thing completely wrong, but he has also gotten a ton of stuff completely right.

You seem like the kind of person that just assumes that his movies are nonsense, because he doesn’t think as you do. But I bet you think the documentaries about Obama and Sarah Palin are 100% fact.
